Make it Monday # 27
Hi again,
I am sorry I didn’t get this up for you yesterday, that being Monday. I had a day which started really great, but turned into a schomozzle come dinner time, and then I had Stamp club last night.
Anyway, in light of what is happening in Victoria, a tutorial being a little late is really nothing to stress myself about……I can see that now. It is amazing how often horrific events really do manage to make you stop, and realize what life is all about, and not all the stupid insignificant things that consume us. So I am going to be sure to enjoy the kids when they get home from school today, and be thankful for having them in my life, rather than being annoyed that they make a bit of mess!
So here is your Make it Monday for this week. I have only made one of these, so there aren’t extra samples, but maybe I will get another one done this week. It is a really fun one though, so enjoy!
Pocket Folder
Materials required:
- Paper trimmer
- Envelopes (5-10)
- Stamps
- Cardstock
- DS paper
- Stamp pads
- Bone scorer
- Adhesive
- Round tab punch, or label punch
Cut a 14 x 24cm sheet of cardstock
Step 2:
Score your cardstock in at 6.5cm’s, then 1.5cm’s from the last score line, then 9.5cm’s , then 1.5cm’s, and you will have 6.5cm at the end.
Step 3:
Fold your cardstock up at the scored lines
Step 4:
Cut a strip of cardstock 24cm’s long by 6cm’s wide and score it with the same measurements as you have just done.
Step 5:
Adhere that strip across the centre of the large cardstock. I have paper pierced my strip on either side as well.
Step 6:
Take your envelopes, and fold back the slip at the top.
Step 7:
On the back side of your envelope tape down the slip, and also add some adhesive to the bottom of the envelope.
Layer the envelopes one on top of the other so that all the pockets are facing the same direction
Step 9:
Decorate the front of you little stack of envelopes.
Step 10:
Adhere the stack of envelopes into the centre of the folder that you have made.
Step 11:
Make little cards that can fit into the envelopes. I have used the Stampin’Up gift card sized envelopes, and so the card I have made to fit the inside is 12 x 8 cm’s
Next I created the little tabs to go onto the top of the cards. I have used the label punch, and cut them in half, as you can see in the image. Otherwise you could always use the round tab punch.
Step 12:
Place all your cards into the pockets of the envelopes.
Step 13:
Make a belly band to fit around the whole folder. I have used a strip of DS paper that is 25cm long x 5cm wide, which fits just inside the other centre band.
Step 14:
Close your pocket folder, and add the belly band. This will keep your folder closed.
I have made this for my hubby for Valentines day. On each card I am going to put a little “Acts of Love” voucher, ie, a massage, favourite dinner, a date of his choice etc…..but I have 10 to fill, and I have to come up with some other ideas……Do any of you have suggestions?….thanks!
These folders make fantastic mini scrap albums, with a photo on each card, and you can journal on the back. OR, you could make it into a recipe card holder, where you can write up your favourites and take it on holidays (if you have to cook on holidays that is J )
There are lots of ideas that you can convert this little pocket folder into.
I hope you like it!
