Make it Monday # 8

Published by Makeesha under Gift Bags, Make it Monday

Ah well it was my first official day back on duties…yep school runs, Washing, grocery shopping and the like. And because I feel so well rested and rejuvenated, I actually enjoyed myself……i know, i know, it won’t last, but maybe I should make the most of doing what needs to be done whilst I am pumped hey!

So anyway another week has past, no make that another month has passed!!! Can you believe that it is September already! I always say once it is September, it is Christmas in a blink of an eye. hhmmm better start thinking about those Christmas cards!

So for this weeks Make it Monday…..still going with the gift theme, as it is Father’s Day this coming Sunday here in Australia, I have put together some Gift Bags. THat way you have a beautiful bag to put that Father’s Day gift in, well maybe new jocks and socks, …not to sure about a power tool!!! LOL!

 So here are the instructions:

Materials Required:

Paper cutter

Stamps

1 DS paper sheets 12 x 12

Wide ribbon

Jumbo eyelets

Crop-a-dile

Step 1:

With each sheet of DS paper you will want to score in at about 5cm along 3 sides. Do this for each sheet.

Step 2:

Cut in on the corners to the point where the two score lines cross

Step 3:

You will then need to fold up that corner that you have cut and add some tape like the photo. These then fold into the end piece to make a corner.

Step 4:

Once you have made the corners on each sheet, add strips of tape onto the edges of only one of the boxes. So you should have this….

Step 5:

Once you have take the backing off the tape, place the side that has the tape on it, into the base of the one that doesn’t, like so. Seal the tape to the edges so that it holds in firmly. It should look like this:

Step 6:

Using your Crop a dile, punch holes into the side of the bag evenly so that you can add the wide ribbon for the handles.

I have used Jumbo eyelets around the holes to make it stronger and as an embellishment

Step 7:

Once you have added the Ribbon, you can add stamped images to decorate the outside of your bag. This is what the finished product looks like:

Here I have used the Wanted stamp set and the Apple Cider DS papers, with some Chocolate chip wide grosgrain ribbon.

This little bag is smaller…..I am sure you noticed! It is easy to adjust this pattern to make smaller bags, all you have to do is cut your DS paper down before you score it. Here I have used the Spring Fling DS paper, with a Chipboard flower, and the greeting is from the Occasional Greeting stamp set.

And a fun little Christmas gift bag using the Dashing papers, and the Season of Joy stamp set.  Won’t be long and I will be putting this to use…..what a scary thought!

Okay I am heading straight of to bed, as I am knackered! It has been a big day, but I did manage to sneek in a lunch date with my brother, on my own!! Now that is a first for a very long time….was just so wonderful to catch up toghether!

Take care,
