Weekend Sketch Challenge #51

Finally I got the chance to sit down this afternoon and stamp….what a nice feeling! First it was all the cleaning, washing, shopping, kindy run….etc…. Sometimes it gets me really down how often I end up cleaning!!! I love to have the house pretty spoltless, and I seem to be doing a full clean every second day! I remember the days when I actually had a cleaning day and it was once a week that the house would get a clean…..now I feel as if I have a permanent sponge and bottle of Sray and Wipe in my hands!!! Not my fave event, but I do love the results. So it is better get used to it, or lower my standards…hmm not an easy decision!

Okay back to why I am here…hehe Oh yeah Beate’s latest Sketch challenge. I really loved this one and found it super easy to come up with ideas……funny how that happens! Last weekend I strugled and now this time it was easy. I have whipped up four things using this sketch and I am really happy with the results.

This is Beate’s sketch and below are my inspired creations…

This first card is probably my favourite. I have used Purely pomegranite for the base which I stamped little flowers from the Favourite flowers stamp set with Pomegranite ink. I added a small strip of Pretty in pink cardstock that I paper pierced. Then a strip of Close to cocoa DS paper from the Berry Bliss range. The sqaure I have layered with the large butterfly from the Garden Whismy stamp set. And blinged it up with some pink rhinstone brads, and Double stitched purely pomegranite ribbon.

Once again I have used the Priceless stamp set (which I haven’t used for 1 whole week…gasp!) hehe. I have used Groovy guava, Soft sky and Blue bayou cardstock. At the top I stamped the swirls in guava.  I have distressed the top of the strip of Soft sky cardstock. The Bayou cardstock I rolled  with the So swirly roller in Bayou ink. The little square I stamped the swirl in Bayou on the white base then added the double stitched ribbon with a hat pin and pearls from the Pretties kit. I stamped the heart with Groovy guava ink and blinged it up with some Dazzling diamonds glitter. The greeting is from Wonderful words stamp set.

Of course I love this page because it stars my spunky hubby Rod! I started with a Blue Bayou base. I added a strip of More mustard cardstock that I attacked with the crop a dile. At the top….yes that is a whole row of mustard eyelets! You might think it a waste, but I love how it turned out and like I said it has to be the best for hubby! The pale soft sky DS paper is from the Spring Break pack. I have stamped the greeting from the Occasional greetings stamp set, omitting the work “friend” so that I could then add MAN….. which I did with the Big Deal Alphabet set. The bottom of the page I once again went on the attack with the Crop a dile :) Lastly I just added a strip of Double stitched blue bayou ribbon.

Lastly I put together this card which is okay, very plain…I think. But it is probably just because I wasn’t happy with the colouring, but couldn’t be bothered to re-do it. I have once again used Blue Bayou textured cardstock for the base, adding a strip of Pumpkin pie that I paper pierced. The striped paper is from the Spring Break DS paper pack. I used the Seaworthy stamp set and stamped up the boat and added a little bit of Olive to the sea water for extra depth. Then I used the happy birthday stamp from the It’s your birthday stamp set which I punched the ends in the word window punch. Last of all I added a punch from the photo corners punch and 2 olive brads.

So that was fun. I will definitely re-use this sketch over and over! Sorry about the discussion about my cleaning woes….I will try to do my best to keep it craft orientated!

Thanks!

Priceless….

Published by Makeesha under Cards, Priceless

The new stamp set from Stampin’Up called “Priceless” is so gorgeous that I just know I will be using it over and over this year! It is so femenine and pretty and so very versatile too!

I have been having a little fun with it and thought I would show you these two cards I have just made.

I have been hanging out to use this greeting stamp from the Ocassional greetings stamp set for ahwile now. So I pulled it out and with some of the new In colours came up with this card. The background is rolled with the Swirly roller with Groovy guava ink. The oval that I cut, I added the swirls from the Priceless stamp set, and I puched out little 1/2 inch circles and taped them to the underside of the oval to create that scalloped edge. Put it all together and blinged it up with some Soft sky double stitched ribbon and copper brads and paper piercing around the oval.

This next card is of course my favourite colour scheme…..although the new In colours are giving it some good competition!

Using the beautiful Designer prints paper in Close to cocoa, I put is on the base to create the patterned background (I love this swirly pattern the best!) Then adding a strip of Chocolate chip cardstock that I layered up with the very yummy Regal rose wide grosgrain ribbon. Using my scallop punch (which is also going to get a workout this year!) to create this little feature for the butterfly to sit on. I stamped the butterfly in Regal rose ink and blinged it up a little with the 2-way glue pen and dazzling diamonds glitter.

Also I added the thank you greeting from the Occasional greetings stamp set and some pink brads to the top.

And there you have it!
