My spunky bro….

Published by Makeesha under Scrapbooking

Hey peeps,

Remember that beautiful photo i posted recently of me with my spunky brother? Well I finally got around to getting some copies printed and actually Scrapped! YAY! I have a spot above my desk where I love to put my scrapped pages, and seeing as I miss my Brother dearly, I like to keep a photo of him up there, so I can think of him often.

Anyway, here is my scrapped page of that ‘One of a kind, Brother of mine” :)

love that man!

I have used some Chocolate chip, Very vanilla, and Pumpkin pie cardstock from SU along with some October Afternoon dsp (love this paper!) . I have stamped the reeds from the Inspired by Nature stamp set (SU) on the background. The greeting is from One of a kind stamp set (SU).

Can’t wait to see Bryn again in August!

Thanks for looking and I hope you are having the bestest day ever!

Hey Chickadee……

Published by Makeesha under Scrapbooking

Chickadee chicken your so fine, you blow my mind………

Does anyone remember that song jingle from some chicken advert in the 80’s??? I know, I know, your wondering if all this fresh Canadian air is doing something to my brain! LOL! no that is not the case, but it is something about that word Chickadee, that makes me always think of that jingle! hehe

Why all the talk of Chickadee? Well because it is on my card I created, along with a gorgeous wee chickadee, if I say so myself!

Here is my wee chickadee for ya’all….(gotta get that Canadian drawl happening….!)

This card I created for a dear friend who’s birthday it is this week. I was so proud of myself that I got it made and into the post before we left home!

I have used the fun stamp set from PTI called Everyday button bits, to create this wee cute chickadee. The base cardstock is Kraft which I layered with Hawaiian shores, and lemon tart cardstock also from PTI. The buttons, ribbon, and greeting are all PTI too…..so much fun!

Hope you all have some special Chickadee’s in your life!

Love to all……

June Guest Designer…..

Published by Makeesha under Scrapbooking

Hey Peeps,

How ya doing today? I am doing well and I am super excited to announce this month’s Guest Designer for the Inkspirations Challenges….. So whilst we will have our weekly guest star, we will also have a monthly Guest Designer too, so be sure to play along, you never know ……you may be next!

Now this guest this month is someone very special and someone who holds a very special place in my heart…… it is my best friend Lee Pelosi! We met way back when i was 17 and Lee 18, both working as Salad Bar Stars at Sizzler……! What is funny too is that when we first met, she thought I was a total ditz and I thought she was a snob! Amazing that when we got to know each other, we really loved spending time together. It it all started when I borrowed her Id to go nightclubbing (I was still underage), and she came to visit me when i was living in a funeral parlour….(oh yes i did and that is a whole different story!!!!) anyway she was in her gothic stage and had to check this place out, so came to visit me and stayed till the wee hours of the morning. Since then we have been inseperable, apart from the 3 years she spent in Canada, and now me moving to the other side of the country! Miss this gal!!!

Funnily enough Lee was at my very first Stampin’Up introduction when I had a workshop at my home by Ngaire Anderson,  back in 2002! Who would have ever thought that this is where we would be today on our creative journeys. Talented as much as she is gorgeous, I know Lee will do a wonderful job this month, and I hope you all enjoy her creative talent too!

Here is her photo and Bio:

“Howdy folks, and a big thankyou to Makeesha for inviting me onto her blog and into your living room!  I am a SAHM and am married to an awesome Canadian guy.  I have lived in lovely Canada, but we currently reside in my beautiful hometown of Perth, Western Australia.  Let’s see… I began my creative journey at the age of 5, using my Crayola paints and a carved out halved potato, to stamp on butchers’ paper!  I thought stamping was a pretty neat-o trick way back then and I’m still loving it!  In between times, I’ve enjoyed various crafts, including knitting.  I was introduced to stamping and Stampin’ Up! simultaneously, at a workshop hosted by my dearest friend and fellow craft junkie Makeesha, and demonstrated by the lovely Ngaire :)  I bought a stamp set of bunches of grapes and vines (I know!) and a box of Stampin’ Spots, and I was hooked!  Makeesha signed up as an SU demo as soon as the company expanded to Australia, and it was very handy having my own personal craft supplier!  It took me oh, another 18 months to realise I needed to sign up, to fund my growing addiction  :)  So I have been demonstrating for over 2 years now, and I’m loving the journey I’m on.
I also love to scrapbook, but find with 3 very young children, a whole layout is more time consuming than whipping up a card or two!  I would have to say my style of stamping usually includes different techniques.  I’m not so much a stamp & stick kinda gal, not that there’s anything wrong with that!!  I really like crayon resist, emboss resist, emerging colour, brayering, paper piecing, and the colour YELLOW!   My stamping space is currently our large 8 seater dining room table, and we eat (all 5 of us!) around a little 2-seater coffee table!  Priorities people!  hehe.
I hope you’ll enjoy my humble stamping efforts over the next month, and I hope they’ll bring you a smile and some inspiration!
Love,
Lee aka Lulla  xxx”

So there you have this month’s Designer in a wrap. Be sure to pop past Lee’s blog, check out her amazing creations on her blog HERE, and give her some congratulatory love!

Okay let’s get this challenge party happening…….

Happy Birthday Charmaine!!!

Published by Makeesha under Scrapbooking

Hey everyone,

Thanks for all your lovely comments about the Copic marker tutorial. It is so nice to know that it has been helpful to so many of you.

Well after the awful gastro last weekend, I have now come down with some nasty virus. I had a sore throat and swollen glands yesterday, but during the night I spiked a fever, and woke up shivering with clattering teeth. I don’t think I have ever felt so cold. I had to get Rod to go and get me extra blankets! Then I woke up this morning feeling SO hot and sweating like crazy.  I have spent the day in bed, sleeping on and off. Hopefully it doesn’t get much worse. It is a good thing I am sick here now, and not when we are on holidays!

Anyway I am sure you haven’t come here to hear all my woes, believe me I don’t want to be morbid at all. On a much happier note, it is my dear, dear friend Charmaine’s Birthday today!!! Charmaine is one of the most wonderful people I know and I am so thankful that Stampin’Up brought us together. Charmaine was the most enthusiastic person on my team, and those of you who know her, will agree that she is so fun-loving, sweet, caring, sensitive, and encouraging person. I am so thankful to have Charmaine in my life, and I miss her sooooooo much!

I scrapped a page of Charmaine and i from our Christmas dinner last year, and it is a fun one…….(we have so much fun together!)

See told you she likes to have fun!

So a very BIG Happy Birthday to you Charmaine, my dearest friend. I hope it is a special one for you! If you want to share the birthday love, pop on over to Charmaine’s fabulous blog and give her a Happy Birthday comment HERE.

Okay I am headed right back to the couch, to rest this weary body of mine. I will be back again as soon as I can.

Have a great weekend peeps!
