Inkspirations Colour Challenge # 9 WINNER!

Hi everyone!

I hope you are keeping well! I have just picked the kids up from school, and they are now officially on holidays for 2 weeks! YAY! That means sleep-in’s, no lunch boxes, and no school drop-off and pick up :) I love the holidays, however the July ones are usually the hardest because it is right in the middle of winter, and keeping 4 kids amuzed other than sticking them in front of DVD’s can be a little tricky. I do have a few things planned, so i am sure they will whizz by in a blink of an eye!

SO this week, i had a fellow Design Team member help out with picking the winner and honourable mention this week! The wonderful Karen Thomas, has put her judges hat on this week, and picked the following for you all.

This weeks Winner goes to Susan Joyce, who has made not only one, but TWO fabulous cards……! Karen picked the following card, because it is AMAZING!

Not everyone loves this rooster stamp set, but WOW Sue has really done a fabulous job with him! Then the other card Sue made, i just have to show you as well, because this would have been my pick for the week…..

Doesn’t this boat look amazing? I just keep staring at the fabulous clouds sponged in the background, AND I love the jumbo eyelets and rope! Totally fabulous! Thank you Sue for your amazing creations this week!

Then for this weeks Honourable mention Karen picked this cute card by Kellie Winnell.

Lovely colouring and a super cute watering can! Thanks Kellie!

Thanks to Karen for her picks of the week! As you will see on the Slide show, it is pretty hard to pick a winner, as there are so many great entries! Thanks to everyone who played along!

Inkspirations Sketch Challenge # 9…

Well it is that time again for a brand new challenge! This week we have a sketch challenge for you all and well it is a little different, so I just know you will have fun with this one!

Here is your sketch for this week:

Now can you believe that I have made two cards for this challenge……And I got the sketch wrong! LOL! I printed it off to work on at my desk and it is only now that when I am uploading this sketch do I see that I have it slightly wrong. It seems that my print out as cut a bit off the bottom of the sketch…..Ah well you will still get the idea!

Here is the first one:

Spot the difference? I haven’t taken the tag base right down to the bottom of the card! but ah well you get that. So here I have used Rose red, Kiwi kiss, Regal rose, and Whisper white cardstock. Then I used the Inspired by nature and Flight of the Butterfly stamp sets from Stampin’Up. I added some Regal rose wide grosgrain ribbon tied of with a pink button from the Button Bouquet box. Then some Pretty in pink taffeta ribbon, paper piercing, and Pretty in pink brads to finish it off.

Next I made a masculine card, turning the sketch to the side:

For this card I have used the Seaworthy stamp set from Stampin’Up. This stamp set is only available in Australia and New Zealand. I have stamped it onto watercolour paper with Chocolate ink, and paper tolled l the sails, as well as added a bit of water to the stamp to blend the colour. The base cardstock is Baja breeze, and I have also used Really rust for the tag. Lastly I added some Chocolate chip wide grosgrain, twine, hodgepodge, and paper piercing for the embellishment.

So there you have mine, now be sure to go and check out the Design Teams samples, as they are sure to be GORGEOUS!

Here is my inspired creation:

This is a fun girly card. Although I thought I knew what I wanted to do with it, it definitely isn’t want I was planning. Funny how that happens some times! I have used, Pink pirouette, Riding hood red, Certainly celery, Tempting turquoise and Whisper white cardstock as well as the Bella Rose DSP pack from Stampin’Up. For embellishments I have used the clips, Button bouquet, grosgrain ribbon in celery, and turquoise, and the red gingham ribbon, along with some red brads.

OH what wonderful creations you all have come up with for the Colour Challenge!!! It am nothing short of amazed at the wonderful, yet totally different creations you all come up with each and every week. You will see this on the slide show below!

But of course it gets harder and harder to pick a winner each week too! I love so many of them, and I want to reward everyone with the winning badge!

This weeks winner is this amazing creation by Shelley Starkis! I had the wonderful pleasure of meeting Shelley at Convention and what a sweetheart she is!

It this such a WOW card with that Bleaching Shelley has done on the background! I haven’t used that technique for so long, but she has definitely inspired me to now! I love the rustic feel to this card!

Now for the Honourable Mention, I have to say this card made by Louise Ryan really jumped out at me! I have been wondering what to do with the new Circle circus stamp set, and well Louise made 2 fabulous cards, I especially LOVED this one! So masculine, and is Rustic meet Retro too!

So there you have this weeks Colour challenge winners! Thanks to everyone who played along! I hope you had as much fun putting your creations together, as I did viewing them all!

Here are all the other wonderful creations:

Inkspirations Colour Challenge # 7

Moi again!

Who is ready to have another play with a challenge? I HOPE you all are!

This week we have a colour challenge!

Here are some nice earthy colours to play with. I really wanted to create something feminine with these colours, but due to leaving it to the last minute, I had to whip up something fairly easy……hopefully i will get the time this week to do one!

This is my sample with the colours:

I wish the pic was better…..I am really missing my camera! :( Anyway this will have to do till I finally get into the city to buy a new one!

For this card I have used Really rust cardstock for the base which I layered up with some Chocolate chip DSP from the Windsor knot pack from Stampin’Up. I added a strip through the centre with some sage DSP from the very same pack. The tree and oval greeting stamp are both from the Le Jardin Botanique Stamp set from Stampin’Up which I have stamped onto Watercolour paper. I did spritz the tree with water to make the colours spread.

For embellishments I have used the wide Chocolate chip stitched ribbon tied off with a button from the Button Latte set with some twine. I then used some antique brass brads and paper piercing to dress it up.

Please go and have a look at the Design Teams wonderful creations for the Colour challenge # 7 and give them some comment love!
