I have a 9 year old!

Published by Makeesha under Family

Well it looks as though my trusty webguy Rob has come through for me yet again and got things working smoootly again. Thanks Rob!!! It is so great to have someone so reliable! Rob is currently working on making my website a whole lot nicer, prettier, and not to mention more user friendly, and I can’t wait to show you all :)

So it is Monday morning right now, I have been up nice and early for my morning walk with Monnie Moo…….a new venture we are trying together to help each other get into shape for summer.

It is officially the last day of the School holidays. It has been so great to take life at a slower pace, but it is time to get some routine back. I am someone who needs their “own time” just to keep sane. I know it is weird and my hubby totally does not get it, but if I don’t get at least 1 hour to myself in the day I go a little nuts! Not totally crazy, just get a little internally irritated. So yeah I am hanging for that time to myself again.

We had a very busy weekend celebrating my daughter Tiarne’s 9th Birthday! I truly can’t believe that I have a 9 year old! Especially since I am only 31. But it is great to still be young, when I eventually get teenagers!

It is amazing to see Tiarne grow up and blossom into a young lady. She amazes me each day with her thoughtfulness and her quiet personality, which isn’t out there, but still so self assured. Also to see her so concerned about her clothes, and hair and to experiment with the “doing our own hair” this year has been great……..one hair less to do in the mornings, but also a little bit of independance from Mum.

Anyway I thought I would show you a couple photos of her on her Big Day.

All grown up…….well getting there!

Look at those cute little freckles!

Tiarne had a sleep-over with two friends last night. Here she is with Chelsey and Shauna. They have had a ball and I was so suprised that they were asleep by 9pm too!

Well I am sure these moments will be the first of many…….when she is ten, a teenager, 21…. getting her driver’s licence. I will be pinching myself with each new milestone. Praise God for not only blessing us with her, but for caring for her each and everyday also!

Okay so I will be back with some fun projects soon. Have a great day!

Home from Busso…. YAY!…. Only to turn into a clean freak!

Published by Makeesha under Chitchat with Keesh, Family

Well I do have to say that is is nice to be home again, even though I didn’t want to come home! I had my dear friend and downline Chantelle come over on the last night to do a bit of last minute stamping together, which was great. We actually didn’t get to do as much as we had hoped. Chantelle is very much pregnant and hanging out for that day. I remember only too clearly how drained you feel, and motivation certainly isn’t cranking. Have so say though that Chan is look absolutely radiant, even if she doesn’t feel like it! Less that 3 weeks now! Woo Hoo. And well with the nasty flu that I had, I wasn’t too flash myself with that nasty and I am sure it was the last thing Chan wanted to catch as well. So in 2 weeks we only managed to stamp together twice!

Anyway I was saying to her on the last night……” I don’t want to go home”  and then again about each half hour! I am sure she was getting sick of it! I was really just in my element there. Sleep-in’s, no phone ringing, easy meals, and a fab-o stamp studio that I can just pop into, not hike it up a load of stairs to get to my stuff. It was so great to just be relaxed, spending time with the kids, going for walks, and just not having to be here, be there, rat race of life that is very usual for us. No Ballet, people for dinner, Soccer runs etc… Sounds like I’m whinging…….but I really just lapped it up and really managed to relax.

Whilst the weather was pretty bad down there, we still managed to get out a couple of times. Of course to the famous Dunsborough bakery……they make the BEST french vanilla slice!!! YUMMO! And of course to the Busselton jetty. I took some pictures of the kids and thought you may want to see them

img_0806-custom.JPG

This is at the Busselton Jetty Foreshore. It is almost impossible to get 4 young kids to smile at the camera all at once! With these logs that are differing in heights made this picture fun.

Enjoying the delights of the Dunsborough Bakery!

I just have to show you this cute picture of Mali…… He really hates to wear long pants!!!! He almost refuses daily to wear them even though it is freezing. But he insists on wearing his jackets with the hood up because he doesn’t want cold air on his ears!!! Go figure that one out! It is really funny though, and there is no negotiating with him. I am sure it is just one of those fazes that will pass and in time we will all have a big chuckle about it!

Last of all my Golldilocks, Janaya…..Her shirt says “Missy” and it sums her up to a tee!

And here they are at the Jetty

img_0977-custom.JPG

So that was the kids…..now onto more fun stuff…….:)

I had a few of you ask, how much stuff did I acutally take to Busselton???? Well I thought I better take a picture of my temporary studio, and then all the gear stacked up ready to take home.

img_0870-custom.JPG

This was the big spare room in the Holiday house that I converted into a stamp room whilst we were there. I got the outdoor table and brought it into here, then on the bedside cabinet I had all my punches layed out. I had a large crate full of cardstock on the floor, and then all my stamps lined up on the bed. On the desk I had my Stamp pad caddy, stack n’ store, and of course all the ribbons, hodgepodge, pretties and assecories from the catty! It was great, and not once did I regret takin ALL that stuff!

img_0999-custom.JPG

Here it all is ready to come home!

Well we arrived home late yesterday. Man that was a mammoth task to unpack the cars in the rain!. It is always nice to come home, well I think so, but this time I came home and was like…..man this place needs a clean! Lots of spider webs etc……

I am really sad to say that when I was getting stuff together in my craft nook, I opened one of my drawers and guess what I saw!!!!! A dead mouse……EEEK! I couldn’t believe it. So today I had myself a 9 hour cleaning frenzy!

I started in the kids room, and did all the cupboards, the windows etc….till it was spotless. Then went onto the Bathrooms, Family, Kitchen, Dining, Master bedroom. Nothing was going to stop me till every nook and cranny was spotless today!

I have to say that whilst every muscle in my body is aching, it feels really really good to know that everything is clean. I mean it is not that I don’t clean, I am rather up to date if you know what I mean, but it is all those cruddy jobs that you put off, like vacuuming under the couch cushions, cleaning windows, and re-arranging the bookshelves etc.

Sorry this is turning out to be such a major post. I haven’t chatted to anyone today and so had to tell someone of all my efforts!

Well at least with the busy week ahead I won’t have to think about the cleaning :)

You have all have a great weekend!

Our Orchard….

Published by Makeesha under Family

This time of year is always very pretty on our property. We have an Orchard, that whilst it is lots and lots of work, it also can be enjoyable.

What I love, is the beautiful array of colours it gives this time of year. We have 650 Sweet Persimmon trees over about 3 acres. Sweet Persimmons are deciduous and so before they lose all their leaves they turn all shades of burgundy, red, orange, and yellow.

So when I look out the window at the moment I see such beauty. I have taken a couple of photos and thought I would show them to you. I should have taken them earlier in the week before the terrible storms hit this week because they then lost lots of leaves, but it still is very pretty.

img_0345-custom.JPG

This is from the bottom paddock, looking up into some of the Orchard. You can only see a small portion of the Orchard here. That is our house in the background which is about 100 years old. Our property was the first stop for the horses and carts to stop for water when they were on their way down south to Albany. There was a Waterwheel right on the corner, hence why our street is called Waterwheel Road.

img_0343-custom.JPG

This is inside one of the rows of trees. You can see a lot of the leaves have fallen to the ground, and lots of Sweet Persimmons ready to be picked.

img_0351-custom.JPG

And this photo is taken from across the road. You can see the netting over the Orchard which stops the Black Cockatoos ravaging the Orchard. We have a dam at the bottom paddock too where the Palm trees are which is great in Summer!

I feel very blessed to live here. God has blessed us so much. Whilst it is a lot of work living on land, and can be stressfull during fruit season, we have so much to be thankful for.

There you go….. a little snippet of my little place :)

Enjoy your day!

Love Keesh x

A Day at the Beach

Published by Makeesha under Family

The day after my party we took the kids out for breakfast, to celebrate our wedding anniversary and my birthday with them. We went to Cottesloe Beach and had breakfast at The Blue Duck restaurant. Here the kids are enjoying their Milkshakes!

Birthday Party Celebrations!

Published by Makeesha under Family

Well I not only had a wonderful birthday on Thursday, I also had a wonderful birthday party on Friday night!

I hired the Ward room at the East Fremantle Yacht club, which was just the perfect venue and had a lovely view as well. The best part about having it there was that I didn’t need to do the food or the drinks, all I had to do was to pick what I wanted and to show up on the day! So glad hubby talked me into this option!

Fistly though I had a very important appointment at the hairdresser’s in the morning. My hairdresser Hayley has been wanting to cut my long hair for a few years now and I always said, “when I turn 30″ so she going to make suer I followed through with my word and yes it felt like the right time for a change.
