SFYTT…..March edition

Published by Makeesha under Cards, Sketch Challenges

Hi there!

I hope you are having yourself a great week so far! We are already half way down the working week, and I can see how the time just zooms by!

This months Sketch for you to try from Jen Del Muro was fun. At first I was a little stumped as to what to do with it, but in the end something came together…

Here is my latest Pure Innocence creation….

Here I have used Ocean tides cardstock for the base along with the Fine and Dandy DSP from My Mind’s Eye. I have paper pieced the lil girls dress with the same dsp and coloured her with my Copic markers. I added the border with my Copic Multiliner and added the wee lil rhinestones. This is something I keep seeing on Jodi Collins cards, and i think it adds a gorgeous touch (thanks Jodi for the idea!)

Anyway not much stamping getting done this week unfortunately…. I really am missing it. Still having a great week with my sister in law Jolene who has moved in for a little while (along with her hubby) until they find a place to live. Always nice to have some company around.

Thanks for stopping by!

Inkspirations Sketch Challenge #63….

Published by Makeesha under Scrapbooking

Hello again,

Well it is another challenge for you all this week over on the Inkspirations Challenge Website!

This week we have a sketch for you all, and it truly is so easy to use! The DT have whipped up some amazing samples for you all, so ENJOY!

Here is the sketch….

Here is my sketch inspired sample for you all….

I dug out one of my old My Favorite Things stamps to put this creation together. I love this stamp of the chick on the phone! I used Not quite navy cardstock for the base and then layered with some My minds eye dsp. I coloured the image with my Copic markers and also paper pieced the lounge chair with it. The greeting is from the same stamp set which i topped off with a yellow button.

Be sure to pop past the Inkspirations Challenges website to see all the DT stamping goodness and to link up your own sketch inspired creation!

Have a fabulous weekend everyone!

A Birthday & Anniversary…..

Published by Makeesha under Cards

Hello people!

WOW Friday already? Seriously where is this year going? I can hardly believe that next week it will be April! The shops are full of Hot cross buns, and easter eggs! I have been enjoying both immensely already *wink*

So this week I had big plans to stamp and whilst i didn’t get much time at my stamping desk, i did manage to whip up a birthday card for my son Elijah who turned 10 yesterday, and my parents who also celebrated their 38th Wedding anniversary on the same day.

Here is Elijah’s card, which he loved because he is a keen lil fisherman….

I have used the Fisher fella stamp from Stampingbella and coloured it with my Copic markers. The DSP is the new Fine and Dandy paper pad from My minds eye. The number ten I created with my PTI stamp set called Outline Alphabet. I have used this weeks Sweet Sunday Sketch to pop this card together. Elijah had a great day and I can hardly believe he it 10 already!

Now for the Anniversary card….

First up I must tell you my folks are not this old! Only in their 50’s but i love this Mo Manning image, and just had to use it! I have used Not quite navy and Very vanilla cardstock along with some My Mind’s eye dsp. Again the image has been coloured with my Copic markers. The greeting is from my PTI stamp set called Damask designs. I have used my sewing machine for some stitching and the ribbon is Ocean tides grosgrain ribbon from PTI. I have used this weeks Cards Patterns sketch to whip this card up….

Thanks for stopping by!

Scraptherapy and a lil card…..

Published by Makeesha under Cards

Hello there my stamping friends!

How are you all? Did you have a great weekend / Start to the new week? The days sure are flying by aren’t they? We have had the busiest 5 days, but I am happy to say they have been most enjoyable. We have seen family, and celebrated two birthdays, had more visitors from Holland for dinner, and well so much more really! Then tomorrow my very dear friend Nellie (from the West) is coming to visit me for 4 whole days! WOO HOO! I really can’t wait to see her, and to sit and have cuppa after cuppa like we always did when i was in Perth. Oh and I am sure we will fit in a spot of shopping too! You know that is actually something I miss….shopping with a girlfriend. So often here i am always on my own, and it is so much more fun when you have company (especially to share that cuppa and muffin when you need to re-energize, for the next round of shopping! LOL!) Anyway all this excitement and planning has kept me away from my stamping desk sadly, however I do have a few things to share that I made last week.

First off though, I wanted to tell you about my little trip south last week. My gorgeous friend from Cairns Shannean (another stamping addict!) has been telling me about this fabulous Scrapping shop about 50 minutes south of Cairns called Scraptherapy. Shan, is friends with the lovely owners Danny and Leanne, and well she wanted to share this place with me, so kindly drove me down there last week. OH LA LA! When you haven’t been to a decent scrap shop for over a year, it is like letting a 2 year run free in a lolly shop! I was dumbfounded for oh at least 2 hours or more just staring at all the delicious papers, bling, and embellies! Best thing is that they serve you coffee whilst you browse around too! They have the store and then two huge rooms, one with all the papers and on-line product and then the other work room so you can come on down whenever you want and just stamp, stamp, stamp….or scrap if that is your preference. Such a fabulous shop and such gorgeous people AND they have just been over to the US for CHA, so they have brand new product coming in all the time that has just been released. I managed to get out of there without too much damage to my purse, but I definitely look forward to putting some of my new papers I bought to good use soon.

Scraptherapy has an on-line store which is fabulous and has all their stock listed and the postage is very reasonable too! Go have a look around, I am sure you will be tempted by all that they have on offer!

Okay so on that note, I should share with you something I made recently with my new papers huh? Here is a card, using the Clean and simple stamping sketch from a few weeks back. I like how this turned out….

I am loving this new colour combo! These papers are from My minds eye, the Fine and Dandy -tickled pink collection. I have used the Pure innocence stamp from My Favorite Things and coloured with my Copic markers. The greeting is from PTI, and i have also used my sewing machine for added effect.

Okay well I have to be up at 3:30am to head to the airport to pick up my friend tomorrow, so best get back to the to do list before she arrives!

Hope to see you all again soon!

Take care!

Love Keesh
