Inkspirations Sketch Challenge #55….

Hello, hello, hello…..

Long time no speak ey?

We finally got our internet connected last night! Two whole weeks without it was very hard to say the least, but feels to good to be re-connected to the outside world. Only thing now is that I have oh about 400 odd emails to go through and much to catch up on in the cyber stamping world!

Life has been beyond hectic of late, and I am so glad I am starting to see the end of the tunnel (slightly). The moving house is done, although it was a very challenging time with the owners not completely out of the house we were to move into! Then it was the last weeks of the school holidays, and boy was I hanging out for some routine again. The past 3 months have been so crazy, and I am so looking forward to some resemblence of normalacy, as well as some time in my new lil craft room stamping! Going to try and make it a priority, because I need some more of the right hand brain stuff rather than all the left! LOL!

Anyway so good to be able to say hello again and to play along with this weeks challenge too. We have a sketch for you all, and whilst it may look a tad scary it really isn’t. There is so much you can do with this as you will see over on the Inkspirations Challenge blog…

Here is the sketch….

Here is my sample for you all….

I have been dying to colour up this gorgeous Mo Manning image for ages, and it was so good to finally do it. I love the saying I found to match amongst my PTI stamps too… I know just who I am going to post this one off too!

So be sure to play along. You can read all the details over on the Inkspirations Blog Here...

Have a blessed weekend everyone and I promise to be back very very soon! *wink*

Inkspirations Sketch Challenge # 53….

Hey people,

How has your week been? Sorry to not pop on in any earlier, we are actually moving house today and tomorrow, so I have been busy packing, sorting, charity dropping, and the like……no one likes to move house and I am no exception, especially in this heat! Thankfully all is going well. The house we are moving to is right next door to our block of land, so it will be make the building process a whole lot easier being so close. That was a real blessing. The owners we are renting from haven’t been able to get the removalists to collect their belongings because of all the flooding and trucks not being able to get to Cairns, so we will be camping out in the house with their boxes stacked in a couple of rooms until it can get picked up. Although we haven’t been hit with the floods here in Cairns, it is amazing how it still affects us in different ways…. like groceries, a lot of the shelves are bare, especially meat and fruit and veg! Something I haven’t experienced before but apparently it is quite common here in Cairns when bad weather hits. Adds to lifes expcitement I suppose :)

Okay enough waffle, and onto the newest challenge…..this week we have a sketch for you all. It is an easy one and so you have no excuse not to play along…heheh

Here is the sketch…

Here is my creation…..

I whipped this up at 6am this morning….sometimes crunch time can help with creativity! LOL!

A very Happy New Year to you…..

Published by Makeesha under Cards

Hello my dear peeps,

How are you all? Did you have wonderful and festive celebrations with family and friends? I hope so!

We all had a lovely Christmas break away. It was rather strange to have a Christmas without my direct family. I think it is the first year ever that i haven’t seen my parents on the day! Still we had a lovely time away camping with hubby’s brother Matt and their family. I was rather dubious about camping, but we packed up and headed off amongst a whole ton of rain…… we arrived, it was still raining….. we set up, still raining….

That night was really wild and windy and poured down with rain non stop! We awoke after getting up several times in the night to make sure no water was getting in. Next we heard that there had been a category 1 cyclone (hurricane) come through during the night! Well that certainly made for an interesting time camping, one we will never forget. Thankfully nothing was damaged and all was good. The bad weather persisted for a few days, with intermitent showers, but it was still really warm so we all swam in the fabulous big pool at the Caravan park we stayed at. There was plenty to do there, and it was so great to sit back and read a book, swim, have nanna naps, and just pretty much take it easy! Something we were really in need of.

We spent New Years Eve there too, and some other friends joined us as well….was a fun night. I am not a big New Years celebrator, rather it puts my in a reminiscent mood where I often think back of what the past year has brought, and what the new year may bring. Thinking back over 2010, I am amazed at what a BIG year we had. First off with the move to the other side of the country, setting up our business, travelling over to Canada and the US, and of course our constant flow of visitors has kept us very busy.

2011 is going to be just the same! BUSY, BUSY, BUSY! I was starting to get very overwhelmed with all that is to be done this year, but I know I can trust God to give us the strength. On an exciting note, I got into Uni to start my Nursing degree, a real dream come true. I am intending to just take my time and do a few units here and there. Then we hope to build our home this year on our block, and then with my friend Monnie’s wedding in September in Perth which I get to be a Bridesmaid, and my spunky brothers wedding in the US come October…. yep plenty to keep my occupied. Now let’s just hope I manage to get some stamping in there some time too hey! Well I hope so!

So anyway talking of stamping, here is a wee lil card I made late last year. I wasn’t too sure of it at first but I think it has grown on me…. (i think it is the colour combo that throws me!) so here it is….

We will be moving house in 10 days time…..so lots of packing to be done! I am not looking forward to it, but the one good thing that comes out of packing and moving, is that you get to be re-organised again… and at the start of the new year, it is good timing! Maybe just maybe I will still get to stamp between now and then!

I hope you are all enjoying your holiday festive season!

With much love,

Love Keesh
