two simple creations….

Published by Makeesha under Cards

Hey there!

I hope you are enjoying your weekend! I have been home caring for my little poppy Janaya, who is recovering from having her tonsils and adenoids out. Boy it is hard to see your little girl so miserable and in pain…. thankfully the drugs help, but it is a fight to get them into her, so that is not fun!

I have two cards to share today, which are ones I made last week at retreat. Very simple indeed, but i still like how they turned out :)

First up I have a masculine one using the new Elements stamps from Stampin’Up:

Love this colour combo….

Next up a card using the fabulous button sets from Papertrey Ink…

A cute little flower pot with button flowers…

I hope to get some stamping done later today, so you never know, I will be back again soon with some creative delightness…… let’s hope so!

Enjoy yourselves and take care!

Inkspirations Sketch Challenge # 41!

Hey peeps,

Well it is the lovely Kirsty Brown’s turn to host the challenge this week! Be sure to pop on over to her BLOG HERE to see the newest sketch along with the twist she has added, and all the inspiration from the DT!

My creation was fun to make, and I enjoyed using some of the newest SU colours as well. I have to say I am getting so used to using my Copic markers now, that having to dig out my aquapainter was certainly a change! Good for me though.

So here is my wee little creation:

And here is our lovely guest designer for this week’s beautiful creation……Thank you SHARNEE TORRENTS!

Now don’t forget to be inspired by our design team!

Wonderful Chantelle and the lovely Sarah-Jane have both this week stepped down from the Design team…. They both have had a wonderful time on the DT, and we have absolutely have loved having both of them and seeing their amazing creations each week! Both have wanted to take a break and work on other things, and spend more time with family. I don’t blame them. Being commited to create each week can be tiring, but they have always been committed and done a fabulous job, we are sad to see them go, but wish them all the best, and hope they will play along with the challenges now and then :)

You would have seen my Design Team call yesterday…..yes we have several places to fill so please start sending your applications in peoples!

Have a great night peoples!

Inkspirations Colour Challenge # 40 WINNER!

Published by Makeesha under Cards, Colour Challenges

Hey there everyone,

Friday again, boy they roll around fast don’t they!

I loved seeing all the diverse creations we had for the colour challenge this week…..so many beautiful cards! Once again it was nearly impossible to pick a winner, as I am sure you will agree.

This week’s Inkspirations winner is this stunning creation by Louise Layton. Now this is one stamp set that I really do not love when you see it in the catalog, but boy it looks amazing coloured up. Your colouring is delightful Louise!

Next up is the Honourable mention…..another hard choice, but I loved this very clever creation by Helen Heil... I always love Helen’s work, and I think you will agree that this is very clever indeed!

Gorgeous aren’t they! Thanks again to everyone who played along!

This week’s new challenge is being hosted by Kirsty Brown from the Design team so be sure to pop on over to her blog to check it out. I will be posting my creation and last weeks winner’s creation in a sec…

Some stamping…..unbelievable right?

Published by Makeesha under Cards

Hey there peeps,

WOW can you believe that I am actually here to do a stamping post on a day that is not Friday (for the challenges) for the first time on oh about 6 weeks???? Yes hard to believe I know. I had hoped to get these posts up earlier in the week but with it being school holidays and then yesterday being a big day for me, I have only just now found the time.

My little poppy Janaya had to have her tonsils and adenoids out yesterday, so we had to spend the day and night at the hospital. All went really well, so I am so relieved and thankful for that. She is just so very sore, tired and rather miserable. Actually I am feeling a little the same with hardly any sleep, a terrible fold out bed etc.. but to see your little child so miserable is never fun :( Hopefully she will recover well. In other ways it will be good to have an excuse to be at home for some time as I am hoping to catch up on so much. Life has been ridiculously crazy busy of late!

So I very much enjoyed the stamping retreat last weekend. It was lovely to spend time with some stamping ladies again…… all that laughter is good for the soul. I managed to stamp too!

Here was my swap card I made…..what a challenge it was to colour all 35 of these creations, but they did look a treat!

I used the new stamp set from Stampin’Up called Morning cup, which is so super cute. There are two new colours on here too…. Marina mist, and the Peach Parfait…such delicious colour. I mixed them with chocolate chip and perfect plum.

Next up is a baby card for a friend in Canada who recently has a gorgeous little girl called Camryn…

I have used the Baby button bits stamp set from Papertrey Ink. I love that wee little butterfly stamp!

Another creation using another Papertrey ink stamp set called In bloom, and the greeting is from the set Signature greetings. I had a blast colouring this flower, and I am also loving the new marina mist colour from Stampin’Up as well.

I have made some more, but I need to space them out for you, as I am not sure when I get to stamp again! LOL!

Hope you are all having a fabulous week!

love to all….
