Inkspiration Challenge…..

Published by Makeesha under Chitchat with Keesh

 Hey Peeps!

Here’s hoping you all had a fabulous week! I have had a wonderful week, as my dear brother Bryn and his fiance Kate are here for a 10 da visit! We have been having the most wonderful catch up, and touring scenic Cairns. It is so wonderful to have some family around.

On a bad note though, my Maisie Mac, my brand new Macbook has done it again…….died! I must have been given a lemon, as Apple Mac’s are not meant to have these problems!! I am beyond frustrated right now, but there is not much I can do.

Thankfully it was the scheduled week for one of the DT members to host the challenge this week so that really helps keep the challenges rolling! This week we have the FABULOUS Kirsty Brown hosting the Inspiraton challenge for this week!

So pop on over to Kirsty’s Blog HERE and check it out and load up your creation there!

I will be back asap with my sample, and lots of other inspiration for you!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Hey everyone!

Well I am thoroughly enjoying this Guest Designer gig, i have to tell ya. I can hardly believe that next week will be my last week as Guest Designer for the talented Jen DelMuro and the weekly Sketch for you to try!!!

This week was a fun sketch which I enjoyed putting together. I hope you can manage to have a go at the challenge this week too.

Here is the sketch:

Here is my sketch creation:

Yummy lollipop meets my fave colour combo……gorgeous right? Here I have used Chocolate cardstock for the base which i stamped with SU polkadot background stamp. I have used the Sweet Always dsp also from SU. I then layered up some Regal rose, Pumpkin pie, and whisper white cardstock (which I punched with my apron lace punch on both sides) and then lastly some Chocolate grosgrain ribbon. The greeting is from the really retro stamp set from SU. The stamped image is from Stampingbella which I have coloured with my Copic markers.

Be sure to check out Jen’s fabulous creation and, also go check out the fabulous Design Team and give them some comment love!

Sketchin’ it Up!….

Published by Makeesha under Cards, Sketch Challenges

Hey again,

Well I finally got these card finished today. I have actually had them planned and sitting on my desk most of the week. I just needed to sit down and colour the images. I was feeling really off colour this morning, so it was perfect timing for me to just sit and do them. They are a bevy of sketches from an array of challenges so I hope I haven’t missed the deadlines! Not too much of a problem as you still get to see them and be inspired which is what this blogging thing is all about right?

Okay so here goes……

First up i did a sketch for Stampingbella. The theme was, ‘Mother’s Day card”. I had a hard time picking which stamp i was going to use, but was happy with the one I picked in the end……it reminds me a little of me, with all the baking I seem to be doing around here….. and ZOOM those muffins are gone! LOL!

I just LOVE these ‘Addytude’ stamps from Stampinbella. They are fun and full of character! Love that big hair-do and those classes too! I have used some My minds eye DSP along with my nestabilites to create the circle and scalloped circle. I have coloured the image with my Copic marker, and the greeting is from SU, the Teeny Tiny Sentiments set, which is just fabulous! Button is from PaperTrey Ink. The ribbon is also SU, and I have used my SU Mat pack to do the paper piercing.

My next creation is using Taylor’s Sketch this week. It certainly was a difficult sketch and I really was stumped as to what to use. In the end I once again used that beautiful Dahlia stamp set from PTI that the lovely Dawn sent me! I was really happy with the end result considering it was quite a hard sketch!

That is a lot of yellow for me, seeing as I don’t really like the colour, but on here it works. I have stamped up the Dahlia flowers and coloured them with my Copic markers, and then cut them out and popped them up with Dimensionals. The cardstock is Elegant eggplant with Almost amethyst, and the dsp is the Tea party from SU. I again have used some grosgrain ribbon which I have ruffled and tied off with some embroidery thread. The scallops are created with my Apron lace punch, and the greeting is again from SU.

Another sketch I did was from Karen Giron’s The sweetest Thing sketch this week:

I dug out my most favourite Magnolia stamp for this one. I started with Kraft cardstock for the base and then topped it with some My mind’s eye dsp. I stamped my magnolia girl and coloured her with my Copic markers, and added some Dazzling diamonds glitter to her wings. The ribbon, greeting and brads are all from SU.

Okay another sketch I did was from Card Positioning Systems. I haven’t ever played with their sketches before so this was a great one to start with:

Another fun Stampingbella stamp! I have had this in my stash for a little while but never inked her up…..it was good to get her dirty! LOL! the base is Rose red cardstock, and I have used My mind’s eye dsp, along with some very vanilla from SU. I coloured the image with my Copic markers, and the greeting is from Stampin’Up. I have used the Polka dot background stamp on the base, and added some pink rhinestone brads as well as some jeweldrops.

Then last but not least……….are you bored yet? LOL! I used Amy Rysavy’s Friday sketch (from last friday) for this little flower girl creation:

Okay so for this card I have used the fun stamp from All That Scraps and coloured her with my Copic markers (again!) I used Ridinghood red cardstock for the base, as well as the ribbon. The dsp is the Be loved paper from My mind’s eye. Lastly I added some glitter and the silver brads for bling.

Phew, got them all posted! Thanks to all these fabulous blogs out there that provide so much inspiration with these sketches! I really enjoyed stamping them up this week :)

Righty, I am about to head off for a date night with hubby. My dear sister in law Claire offered to have the kids so we are heading out! Will be so nice as we haven’t really had the opportunity since we arrived to have a night out together!

have a goodie yourselves everyone!

Challenge time again! yeah baby!

This week we all have a colour challenge for you! A bright one too. I struggle with Bold brights and whilst these aren’t quite bold bright colours they are not usual colours that i would use. At first I was stumped as to what to do with them, but I am so happy with my end result.

here are your colours to work with:

Here is my creation for your inspiration:

This card is going to my gorgeous Sister in law Kate who just fond out she got into an accelerated Nursing program at a University in Philadelpha. We are so happy for her. Oh and I am sooooo super excited because she along with my brother are coming over for a visit and arrive at the wee hours of 4am on Tuesday morning…….but it is totally worth it to spend 10 luxurious days with them. I can’t wait!

Okay so for this card I have used some Red grosgrain ribbon that I have ruffled and stampled. The flower is the Die-cut blooms from Stampin’Up. I have dressed it up with a large red button and embroidery thread. I also added some score lines into the Whisper white cardstock that I did with my Scorepal. The greeting is from the Organic outlines stamp set from which i stamped with Real red ink.

Here is the inspiration from the Design Team! Be sure to visit their blogs and give them some comment love!
