moi talkin bout…..

Hey peeps,

Jolly gosh, i had planned this week to blog each day! Heck I even have stuff to show you. I feel like I am in the perpetually time vault and i just get sucked dry of every waking moment to do the things I need to.

I am one of these schedule, no procrastination, roll your sleeves up and get stuck into it types of gals, but I tell ya the past 3 months have been a complete and utter whirlwind!!!! I am pleased to say I have coped reasonably well with the whole upheaval, not know what each day would bring, however it was starting to wear me thin.

So this week I sat down and wrote big lists……. I LOVE lists! and well started to map out the things I want / need to do each week (of course stamping and blogging were on the high priority list) and to fit in all sorts of other things like volunteering at the kids school, lots of exercise, cleaning, baking, and also working.

I think I have it all sussed now, the real challenge will be to keep to the designed schedule! That means a whole lot more posts for you guys, some more tutorials, scrapbooking and sharing the things that keep my life joyful. I have tried not to overload myself and end up with the failure feeling, but hey I can only do my best right?

I am very much looking forward to getting back to blogging and waffling away at you all again! I don’t have heaps of people to talk to here, and finding myself getting a little lonely now and then, so I will have to come and yabber at all of you innocent folk…LOL!

So with the schedule in full action I am here to share what I have made recently, and to share some fun, and exciting news too.

First up I decided to scrap a beautiful photo of my dearest friend Louise and I from Christmas time. I smiled the whole time I made this as it just brought back so many fun memories I have of the time I have spent with Lou over the past several years……And I can hang it in my craft room, and be reminded daily of my gorgeous friend back in Perth.

I have kept if fairly simple as I didn’t want to take away from the photo.

For this page I have used Taken with teal cardstock for the base, which I stamped with the large Medallion stamp from Stampin’Up on the background with Versamark. The dsp is from My Minds Eye, and I also used my Apron lace punch from Fiskars. The stamp that is the F is a brand new stamp from a new stamp set coming from Stampin’Up in their next mini catalog, due out 1st of April.

Next up I have a card I played around with a last week. It was actually for one of Taylor’s challenges 2 weeks ago, but I never got to take the photo and edit it in time:

For this creation I have used the Stamp set called Berries and Cherries from Taylored Expressions along with the Washington Apple DSP from Stampin’Up.

Then last of all I have a cute girly card I made. It too was for a Splitcoaststampers colour challenge last week which was, Celery, Bashful blue, and Melon mambo with a neutral.

Here I have used a Swiss Pixies stamp form All that Scraps and coloured it with my Copic markers. The greeting is from Stampin’Up as well as the ribbon too.

Now some other news is that I had a most wonderful night out having coffee with the famous, gorgeous, and most talented Dawn McVey from the US with her Hotty Hubs (as she always calls him!) on Monday night. Dawn and her hubby Bart are here in Australia touring the East coast and Dawn arranged 3 different meet and greet get togethers whilst they were here, in Sydney, the Gold Coast, and Cairns. Me being in Cairns was keen to meet them. As it turned out I was the only one who showed up, so I had them all to myself for the evening, and what a fabulous evening it was!!! They are both absolutely adorable and such wonderful people.

Here is a pic of dawn and I together….

And here is one of Dawn and Bart together. I don’t know what is going on with my chin in this one!!! LOL! But in the end it was the best of quite a few!

It was funny because we had Bart take like 8 different shots, as we are both as critical as each other when it comes to photos of ourselves…..that was rather funny!

So yeah I was most spoilt to spend a fabulous evening with these two, and hopefully one day we will get to catch up again!

So there is a little catch up from me. I appreciate your patience with my lack of blog posts in the past 3 months, but let’s hope it can only get better from here.

Be sure to come back tomorrow as I have an exciting announcement about the Design Team!

Ciao peoples,

Love Keesh

Inkspirations Inspiration Challenge #19…..

Hey everyone!

i hope you have all been having a great week! DID you see the Challenge winners and entries over on Chantelle’s blog this week? So many fabulous entries for the colour challenge! I am soooo thankful to Chantelle for hosting this week, as I have been really unwell this past 4-5 days! What great timing! So whilst I really wanted to get out and comment, I just didn’t have the energy. So again big thanks to Chan for all her help, and picking the winners……that is NEVER easy!

Okay so who is ready for an inspiration challenge this week? I think this image has heaps of possibilities, and I hope you all get on board with it!

Here is your Inspiration image to work with:

love the water can used as a vase!

So here goes for my sample! It turned out completely different to the direction I first started with, but hey it is pretty all the same.

The colours once photographed turned out a little different to the original, but you get the idea. The base cardstock is Razzleberry, and I have used the Echoes of Kindness stamp set which I have watercoloured with my aquapainter. The background is the Tres Chic background stamp from Stampin’Up and the greeting is the Three little words stamp set. I have dressed it up with a little bit of glitter.

Check out the DT’s creations and be inspired!

here are the links to their creations:

Inkspirations Sketch #19 Challenge WINNER!…..

Hey Peeps,

WOW so great to have so many play along with the Challenge this week and some newbies too, - we all love that! So many amazing creations too! There are 60 creations in the Slide show, so be sure to check them out.

Man ‘O Man it is really hard to pick a winner though…….yikes! It would be easier if I put it to vote! LOL!

Now after much deliberation, i finally picked this wonderful creation from Teneale Williams! WE all know Teneale is one AMAZING stamper and it is no wonder she teaches it as her full time job. I was super excited to see Teneale play along with the Inskpirations challenges for the time too. Here is her delightful, and pretty monochromatic creation.

Some Sketch Fun….

Hey all,

wowza, where is this week going? I was lucky enough to sit and stamp on Sunday night as I was nursing me ear infection and I can hardly believe it has taken me till Friday to get a post up, and show you what I made! Anyhoo, that is just how life goes sometimes. I need to get into a new routine for taking the photo shots. As of yet, I am still look for the perfect place that has great lighting and that I don’t have to set up every single time I want to photograph something I have made.  Because of the mountain right behind us, the best light is in the afternoon, but then I am usually doing homework with the kids, and getting dinner started. I will have spend some time thinking about this one :)

Anyway, i have had some sketch fun this week, and here is what i got up to:

First off I did Taylor’s sketch. I am not really enamoured with this one, it is an average creations, but hey i tend to always have that when I sit down to the stamp, the first creation I make is always just average……do you get that too? or is it just me?

Here it is…..you be the judge!

For this card I have used the Nook and Pantry DSP from Basic Grey, and Taylor’s own stamp set called, “For the love of cupcakes” The ribbon and punch outs are from Stampin’Up.

Next off I made a fun creation using Jen Delmuro’s sketch for you to try:

I LURVE these wee cute turtle tots from Stampingbella. I have used some My minds eye DSP, along with the red spotty ribbon from Stampin’Up.

Next up I stamped this cutie for the All that scraps dots and stripes challenge and I used Splitcoaststampers sketch for the week. I love this stamps and always have a blast colouring it in with my Copic markers. The DSP is from the Love Sparkles scrapbooking kit from Stampin’Up.

and here is a close up:

AND then the lucky last is a masculine card i made using the colour challenge from Splitcoaststampers from this past week. The colours were Basic grey, Crushed curry, Always artichoke and a Neutral colour. Definitely a different mix and this is what I came up with:

So yeah i have been doing a little stamping, and WOW it feels sooooo good! Each day I am itching to get back into my new stamp room and pull out the ink and rubber. Talking of my new stamp room, I took some pictures so that you can have a little look see of where I am when i create. It is perfect for what I need, and I am just using a hodgepodge of furniture (ie a trestle table and old computer desk) at the moment until we get the house built and I can go back to having custom build cabinets etc…. I had that at the last place, but because it was built in, I had to leave it behind….. :( Ah well I am sure at the new house that we will build I will have a fabulous set up, and with a view too!

Here is my new room…..

This is from the doorway….

My computer desk with my brand new puter, whom I have named Maisie Mac….

My converted book shelves that now house my stamps and ribbon…..

My paper and punch storage! I had built in filing cabinets drawers in my old craft desk so I had to find a new way to store my file folders of cardstock. The day we moved we had a Corona beer box and I discovered that the file folders fitted perfectly! So what did I do? Went out and bought two new cases of beer for the boxes….(okay I confess to having drunk a few of the boxes contents to……but only a few, I promise! :)

So there you go, now you can visualize where I am at when I stamp and sing along to my iPod with my mug of tea.

I will be back with the Challenge winner, and new post for ya in a bit….

Ciao,

Love Keesh
