Inkspirations Sketch Challenge #17…..

Hi again!

Well it is that time of the week again when we have the new Challenge for the week! This challenge will be rounding off the Challenges for 2009! I really am amazed at how fast this year has gone, but I am even more amazed at how much peoples stamping skills have increased in a year! Viewing your creations each week provides so much inspiration not only for me, but for so many others as well! Of course wehace the introduction of the Design Team this year, and I think it has been a most fabulous addition, having them inspire us each week! SO a very BIG thank you to them as well :)

So for the very LAST challenge for 2009, we have a sketch, which is actually the most popular of all the challenges. I am hoping that you will be able to squeeze this one in sometime during this busy week ahead! Christmas functions, shopping, end of school events, certainly makes for a busy week, but hey, remember stamping is a good stress reliever too! :)

Here is the sketch to work with:

This week I have made two samples for the challenge, one rectangle and one square..

Here they are:

Here’s a masculine card for you! I have used Baja breeze for the base which I stamped with the scratched background stamp from Stampin’Up with Chocolate chip ink. The DSP is from the Good morning sunshine DSP pack. I stamped the large shell from the Seaside stamp set, from Stampin’Up onto watercolour paper with Stazon ink, and then watercoloured with my stamp pads, and aquapainters. The greeting is from the Inspired by nature stamp set, and the ribbon is Kraft taffeta, both from Stampin’Up.

Then here is my square card:

Finally got to use my cute Kangaroo again! This card is using a Chocolate chip base, and the Bella rose DSP from Stampin’Up. I have stamped the Kanga, from the Build a roo stamp set, and coloured it with my Copic markers. The greeting is from the Sweet little sentiments stamp set (hostess set) and then I have embellished with Riding hood red taffeta ribbon, and ruby red brads, with some paper piercing.

Be sure to go and check out the Design Team members creations and give them some comment love!

Two more sketch challenges…..

Published by Makeesha under Cards, Sketch Challenges

Hi again,

Well I have been at it again…..playing with sketch challenges that is! LOL! It must be just the week for it, as tomorrow’s Inkspirations challenge is going to be a sketch as well :)

This time i worked with Jen DelMuro, and Karen Giron’s sketches…

First off Jen’s Sketch:

For this card I have used Chocolate chip cardstock for the base, with Good morning sunshine DSP from Stampin’Up. The stamped images are from All that scraps called, Pond life, which I have coloured with my Copic markers, and cut out with my nestabilities. I embellished with Kiwi kiss striped ribbon, and a clip from the clip assortment box from Stampin’Up. The greeting is from the same set.

Then next up Karen’s sketch for this week. I took liberties of changing the angle of the sketch:

I have used Baja breeze cardstock for the base, with a strip of wide chocolate stitched grosgrain ribbon. The DSP is from My mind eye, called Pretty please. I used the Fiskars Apron lace punch for create the scallops along the side. The stamp is from All that scraps, and I have coloured it with my Copic markers. Lastly the greeting is from the      stamp set from Stampin’Up.

Hope you like these creations! Have a great night and I will see you tomorrow with the new challenge and challenge winners from this week!

A wee bit of scrapping…..

Published by Makeesha under Scrapbooking

Hey peeps,

Well it certainly has been a little while since I have done a scrap page. I really love to scrap, and I found this cute photo I had developed of my daughter Tiarne. I used my new My minds eye DSP, and two of the die cuts that came with the kit, so it was super dooper easy, and super fast to get this page together.

I have used Stampin’Ups Riding hood red  cardstock as the base, and mounted the photo onto Sage shadow cardstock as well. The other paper is My minds eye, and I used the scallop circle punch to host the greeting. The ribbon is Chocolate taffeta ribbon.

It was as simple as that….. :)

A parcel from Beate….!!!!

Published by Makeesha under Cards

Hi again,

A couple of weeks ago I received a beautiful parcel in the post from my dear friend and super talented Beate Johns! it was a little thank you gift for doing the Video tutorial from Splitcoast stampers (you can access it on my toolbar to the right). It was really so thoughtful of her to send it! Whilst I was so super excited to get the stamp set, I was sooooo excited to get a Beate stamped original card with it too!

Here is a little look-see…..

Isn’t that card just adorable! I love it. And well how exciting to get that stamp set too, which isn’t in our Stampin’Up catalog. It is called Branch out, and I look forward to having lots of fun with it.

I have made one card, which I intend to send to Beate herself. I have done this big satin bow on there, because if you have a look at Beate’s creations lately they all seem to be sporting these gorgeous big bows…LOL! So I hope she will like it!

Here I have used Riding hood red , Confetti white, Chocolate chip, and Bordering blue cardstock. The DSP is from My mind’s eye. The greeting stamp is from the Occasional greetings from Stampin’Up which I have mounted onto the large oval punch, and the Curly label punch.  I have used Chocolate satin ribbon (retired SU) and the antique brass brads for embellishment.

Thanks again to Beate for my delightful card, and stamp set! You are such a gem!
