Raspberry Suite Mojolicious…..

Published by Makeesha at 3:42 pm under Cards, Colour Challenges, Sketch Challenges

Me again!

I so should be in bed right now, but I am all pumped for some reason…..(more on that tomorrow!) but anyway I just relized that this card I created for the lovely Dawn McAvey’s colour challenge is due um like right now! So thought I better whip up this post for ya!

The Raspberry Suite colour challenge # 20 was to use, Kraft, Rust, Chocolate, Vanilla, and a light blue…..quite a lovely masculine colour palette hey? So I wanted to make a masculine Valentines card, or you could use if for anniversary to, or if you are just feeling very amorous at the moment! LOL!

So here is the heartfelt lov-ee card I created using the new I heart, Hearts stamp set from Stampin’Up.

Okay so here I have used the Kraft cardstock for the base, and the striped Chocolate chip DSP. I cut the circles and scallops with my nestabilities. I ruffled the Chocolate grosgrain ribbon, and added a strip of Really rust cardstock. The hearts are stamped up with the I heart, Hearts stamp set, and mounted with dimensionals. Last of all I added the paper piercing and the greeting which is from the, Three little words stamp set with Chocolate ink…….

This is a card I LOVE. Occasionally you make something you are really chuffed with, and I don’t know what it is about this one, but yeah it does it for me! LOL!

Okay so the next creation is using this weeks Mojo Mondaysketch, along with Stampingbella’s challenge to use anything with Faux stitching…..

I used Old olive!!!! That is a colour I have been really really struggling with the past 6 months!!! It is just so strong, and SOOOOO green! I had to hide most of it with the DSP!

Here I have used some Basic grey DSP (the name alludes me right now!) and the stamp is from Stampingbella, which I have coloured with my Copic markers. I once again used my Nestabilities, and paper pieced the umbrella. I added the Pink taffeta ribbon, and Pretty in pink brads for embellishment. Lastly I used my Mat pack and white gel pen to create the Faux stitching around the outer perimeter of the card.

Thanks so much Dawn for the colour challenge, and Mojo Monday for the fabulous sketch challenge!

Have a great night everyone…..I am finally off to bed! :)

Love Keesh

“More about this tomorrow”?!?! You are so bad… Now, you’ve got me all curious!!!!

Wow, those two cards are gor-geous! I really love the first one, too. You used the new heart set and color combo beautifully! I like how the hearts overlap - very pretty!

And your coloring skills are excellent! Love the beautiful colored image on your second card, gives the card so much life! I’m surprised to hear you’re not too fond of Old Olive! I go through this cardstock as fast I go through a box of chocolate (and you mustn’t underestimate me when it comes to chocolate…). It went on the backburner a bit last week when I had Kiwi to rely on, but now I’m back to using Olive all the time, and I’ve noticed that SU! is including it in everything as well (samples, papers, etc.). Must be because it matches the In Colours beautifully.

The different patterns on the hearts are so interesting, and such great colors.

The little girl image is adorable. I like the matching umbrella to the strip.

Also, I’d like to say a big THANK YOU for the absolutely gorgeous Christmas card. Not only did I la la LOVE it, so did my Mum and her card-making friend. Everyone that sees it, LOVES it. You’re quickly becoming a celebrity in the Swift household haha. I was just wondering if you could please email your address to me, because I’m almost certain that I have lost it :( Thanks again :D

I’m with you, Keesh - LOVE, love, love the first card. Kraft is “my colour”, and I am in awe of what you’ve created for Dawn’s challenge. Simply gorgeous. (Gotta love those hearts - a favourite set of mine, I have to say.)

The paper-pieced umbrella is just adorable on your second card; brought a big smile to my face! Christine xx

The little chickie is sooooooooooo adorable!!!!! I love the way you’ve coloured her in and the paper piecing just adds the extra ‘pop’. And the heart card is so awesome too!

I love that ribbon! Such a gorgeous card - enough for us crafty gals to *squeeee* over it yet still masculine enough that someone like my husband would really like it (as ya know, it’s not too girly *lol*) Did I say I liked the ribbon? :D

I had to go back through all my blogs just to find your i {heart} hearts card and finally found it here! I knew I should have saved it the first time. So, since I’m back for the 2nd time I thought I should let you know just how much I love it! I’m probably going to buy this stamp set ONLY because of this card! Thanks for enabling…hee!
