Weekend sketches….

Published by Makeesha at 4:55 am under Cards, Sketch Challenges

Hey Peeps,

I hope you are well and having a good start to the week! Things here haven’t been all that fun! On Friday I came down with gastro, which then went onto Mali, and then Tiarne as well. So far no one else has it, but you know gastro, it is so contagious! Each year we get it about 4 times, but this weekend made it 5! Don’t you think that is a little unfair? LOL! Ah well it is so much easier now the kids are older, they tend to be able to keep themselves clean if you know what I mean.

So I wanted to get this post up yesterday, but with have two sick kidlets, I just didn’t manage to. I have been working on more sketches..,,.yet again! LOL! This time I did Lori Craig’ssketch she did for the Splitcoast weekend sketch group, then Taylor’s, and finally Jen’s sketch.

First up is the sketch from Lori Craig:

I wanted to work on a masculine card, and this is what I ended up with. I have used Basic grey cardstock for the base, a strip of DSP from My minds eye, and then two cut outs of nestabilities. The main stamp is the Damask stamp from the Friends 24/7 stamp set, and the greeting is a plain jane stamp from Verve. I have stamped the damask with Stazon ink, and cut it out, lastly I layered it with a thick coating of Crystal effects to make it glossy. I added some basic grey ribbon for embellishment.

Okay next I have a card using Taylor’s sketch:

This is a Stampin’Up only card. I used Real red cardstock, and the Ski slope DSP. The stamp I used is called Holiday lineup…love this stamp set from Stampin’Up which I coloured with my Copic markers. I added an arrangement of buttons, and some Old olive wide grosgrain ribbon. The greeting is my hand writing.

Then last off, I did Jen’s sketch:

I often see Jen stamp and colour on Kraft cardstock, and I have meaning to give it a go….,..love the result of that! Here I have used Old olive cardstock for the base, and the DSP is from My minds eye. The stamp is a Turtle tots stamp from Stampingbella which I coloured with my Copic markers. The greeting is from the same stamp, and I have attached it with a mini library clip.  And lastly I added some paper piercing.

So there you have some sketch cards! Thanks ladies for the great sketches!

On another quick note, we had people through our house this morning for their second visit, so we are eagerly awaiting some news……it is sooooo hard to not think about it and to just wait and see! Please pray that they will be the ones, as it would be such a relief to be over the house opens and what not! Thanks!

Have a great day!

Love Keesh

ugh, Keesh, the flu sounds awful … I’m so happy we haven’t had much of that in our house ever; just nasty colds!

All your sketch cards are fabulous! Love the elegance of the first, the cheery colours of the second and the way you’ve done the sentiment on the third!!!

These are fab cards, Keesh - I love the colouring on your reindeer, and that cheering turtle is so cute! Hope you are all feeling better soon, and that your house is soon going to be someone else’s home :)

I love your cards, they are fabulous, and I love that you have used MME, it is my absolute fave and it looks amazing on your cards, and gives me good incentive to get back to some of that gorgeous stuff i have prior to joining Stampin’ Up! LOL, thank you!!!!

Being sick is no fun, and being sick when you are a mommy is even worse because moms don’t get any down time! Hope it passes quickly!

Lovely set of cards. The first one is fabulous - so elegant and I love the turtle image on the last one - just want to give him a hug. Nice row of white dots down the side.

Hoping you get an offer on the house and it is a decent one. Just HATE having to live in a “show home”, especially when you have kids.

Oh my goodness Keesh, your on a roll with these creations this week! Love these, my fave is the first one though. Great colour combo. Between you and Tanja I am inspired to mix Basig Grey and the yellows and oranges now! You’ve also inspired me to do some sketches again - yeah bring on the holiday creating time!

Ah Keesh, its been a wee while since I’ve managed to grab 5 minnies and comment on your blog…..what can I say. I doooo lurke about looking and check out the challenges every week or so, I promise to be a better ‘visitor’ next year and you may even find me participate in a challenge or two!!

Sorry to hear you and some of the kidlets have been attacked by the dreaded ‘gastro’ bug. Hopefully you’re all on the mend now and no one else succumbs.

Hope you’ve had good news about the house situation too. I know, only too well, how draining and exhausting, and downright inconvenient it can be to do constant open houses and not know if these will be ‘the ones’ or not. Hoping you really do have an answer soon so you know where to go from here.

Now onto your cards!! They are fantabulush…..you have definitely mastered Copics!! I’m so envious and I love, love, love how they look on Kraft!! Definitely gotta give that a go.

My fav though has to be the masculine card…..divine. :)
    Hugs, Michey xxx

I hope you and your family are feeling better! Hgus to you all - gastro is NOT fun!

The three cards are total cuteness! You’ve been busy! I’ve been stamping a lot myself, but have fallen behind on taking pics and posting it all. I’ve done Lori’s sketch as well, but haven’t posted a pic just yet. I hope to post more this week: we had planned a monthly Tour de Freaks but people got too busy and dropped out, and my projects were already done, so I’ll call it my Snowflakes week and share what I had in store for the blog hop.

I agree that coloring on Kraft looks awesome! I had also seen it done online and gave it a try myself a couple of weeks ago with my Copics. I’ve posted a pic on my SCS gallery, if you want to peek:

    Have a great week!

Congrats on making Taylors top picks Keesh. That’s two weeks in a row….you clever girl. Not surprising, these are beautiful cards.

Hope to see you before you leave, I’m sure life is pretty hectic for you at the moment.

    Take care
    Love
