3 Sketch Challenges…..

Published by Makeesha at 3:40 pm under Cards, Sketch Challenges

Hey everyone!

What a week it has been. I know I keep hoping for things to slow down and little, but they just seem to be going ahead will full force! My poor brain is in overdrive, and well it is driving me a little crazy. It is a good thing that I am going off for a little get away tomorrow for one night…..Yep, I am off to visit Chantelle, who lives 2.5 hours away. Also coming along is my dear friend Renae, who also happens to be Chantelle’s sister-in-law, so we are all looking forward to some fun girly time together…… Not sure what we will get up to, but I am sure it will involve some form of indulgence! :) Can’t wait!

So this week, I managed to play along with a couple of sketch challenges. I did find all three of these sketches challenging for different reasons, so I am not 100% of the results, but I thought I would share them anyway!

First off I worked on Beate’s sketch Challenge from last weekend. It was a real different one this week, and I was at first lost for what I was going to use…….then I finally managed to decide on Holiday line-up.

Then next sketch I worked on was this weeks Mojo Monday! I tell ya, i haven’t done one of these for a couple of months! I love the Mojo sketches, so it was great to play along again for a change. For this card I have used the Bella Bleau DSP, and the Inspired by Nature stamp set that I have embossed with white embossing powder. The greeting is from the Friendly words jumbo roller from Stampin’Up.

Then last of all I worked on the Sketch Challenge from Stampingbella, with my brand new Prismacolour premiere pencils! Emily has some of the best artists in her Design team, and Paula, and Linda are the most amazing artist with these pencils. SO anyway it certainly was interesting and I am not too sure of them yet….they jury is still out on that one. I do LURVE to colour, so I thought I would try myself some of these pencils, however I think they are going to take some time to get the real hang of them! LOL!……what do you think?

So there was some sketchy fun for you! I would love to know what you think! Okay I better head to bed, if I am going to have a happy face for Chantelle tomorrow! Be back soon!

Ciao!

Love Keesh

    Hi, Keesh

I think you’re being too hard on yourself, maybe because you struggled with the sketches and looked at your cards too long. I can assure you they are absolutely wonderful! I truly love them all!

The way you tied the ribbon and added the corduroy brad + the Curly Label sentiment is totally cute. The second one is soft and beautiful and elegant (LOVE those pearls on the Eyelet Border!). And you did a really nice job on the Bella card as well. (I hadn’t seen that image before, it is CUTE!!!) Paula and Linda are quite amazing with their coloring and I would love to get a crash course with one of them one of these days (Linda comes to Toronto to teach sometimes, I believe - oh, how I wish I could take that 8-hour drive and be there!) Anyway, I think you did amazing with your new pencils. Can only get better as you get the hang of them!

    TFS!
    Cindy :)

WOW these are stunning cards and a gorgeous job on the colouring with your new pencils, your work is always very inspirational to me. I have made some cards with my Lulu collection stamps too, I think they are such sweet stamps to colour in. Have fun playing with your new pencils!!

Hi Keesh, Your cards are beautiful as usual. Interesting what you say about the Prisma pencils as I have just got some myself and been playing. The challenge is blending, I have used Gamsol (Odorless Spirits) and this work well but don’t real want to resort to this. I have just bought a blender (colourless) pencil made by Prisma which I’m hoping will help me. BTW, did you use Copics to colour the Holiday Line Up - the colours are so strong and have real depth. I don’t have Copics, just my SU! and other markers but don’t think I could achieve your colouring with them. Love KimT P.S. Glad Photoshop is playing nicely for you now and everything crossed for the house sale.
