Inkspirations Inspiration # 12 WINNER!

Published by Makeesha under Inspiration Challenge

 Hey everyone,

I hope you are well! Friday already……where does the week go? Things have been very very busy in the Byl household this past week. It seems having 5 kids rather than four really makes a difference with how busy you are. Oh well, hopefully after a restful weekend, I can manage to do a little more blogging!!!

Now it was so great to see all the fun, bright and summery creations this week! I loved each and everyone of them!!! It certainly makes one look forward to summer for sure!

I especially Loved this creation by Bec Gomez…..the groovy background, and the large circle image really went “WOW”, when I saw it! Here is Bec’s amazing creation:

Then this week’s Honourable mention goes to a new player of Inkspirations Challenges, and that is Denise January. I love how Denise went with a slightly richer colour scheme, with the navy and mustard, and I love the finishing touches with the pearls as well!

Thanks again to everyone who played along…..be sure to check out all the amazing entries on the Slide show below!

Have a goodie!

Inkspirations Inspiration Challenge # 12

Me again,

Oh it is great to have this new challenge all ready for you! I hate being behind schedule, and I am sure it drives you crazy as well!!!

On a really positive note though, my de-cluttering is all done! YUP, my house is now about half full of all its previous contents, and man oh man it feels really really good! Every drawer, has just about been emptied, and packed away. Our shed is loaded with sealed boxes now. So if you need to borrow anything, don’t come my way because I probably won’t have what you are looking for….LOL! Rod arranged a few of my dear friends to come over yesterday morning, and we got the house completely cleaned and spotless. Hopefully it will stay that way! I am so thankful to them for their help, as I really couldn’t have done it in my invalid state :) Now that, that is all done, I hope to get back into a more standard routine, and hopefully that includes a little more stamping time as well!

So this week, i think you are going to enjoy the new Inspiration image I have picked! It is so summery and fresh…….something we are all looking forward to for sure! SUMMER! It has been soooooo miserable and dreary around here the past few weeks, and since it has just by calendar turned into spring, we have been waiting for the sunshine…….but it hasn’t arrived yet!

Anyway here is the fun inspiration image for you this week…..have fun with this one!

Here is my inspired creation for you:

Inkspirations Colour Challenge # 12 WINNER!

Published by Makeesha under Colour Challenges

Hello Stamping Friends,

I have to laugh today, because life has been so random of late, and the past two days are have been just that! I was driving home from school on Thursday with my neighbours kids as well….Yes I had the Tarago van packed to the brim with 8 boisterous kids, all yapping and squealing, and one trying to play the recorder in the back seat! I was having a subtle moment of insanity (as mum’s do!) and am nearly at the neighbours driveway and what do you think is blocking my way? A big tree that has been uprooted with the storm we were having and fallen straight across the road before their driveway. Elijah (my son) and I wander (more like hoble) over to the said tree thinking that we might be able to move it out of the way, but oh no, I couldn’t even lift it 2 inches, it was so heavy. After letting the kids out, to walk the rest of the way to their house, and heading home to my own place, I was surprised with what greeted me there.

This is our telephone pole on out property that seems to have also been ripped from the ground in the storm. So having the phone pole out, meant that the phone line was also ripped from the connection at the house too! So no phone, and no Internet connection as well! Thankfully the phone company came out to fix it, and the storm had abated as well.

So whilst I was wanting to post it was not possible. Sorry about that! Anyway I have been blessed with a lovely sleep in this morning from hubby who took charge of the kids, and now I have finished viewing all the amazing samples from the Colour Challenge this past week. It was a competition this week, so even harder to pick a winner too!

In the end though I have picked this amazing creation by the very talented Shelley Starkis! I truly LOVE the way Shelley has created this sunset with the colour challenge colours, and masked the sun to shine onto the flowers…..absolutely stunning! Great job Shelley!

This weeks Honourable mention is for a lovely creation by Mandy Schiller. Mandy is as sweet as she is talented! I love the paper skirt Mandy has made at the bottom of her card, and the ribbon and hat pin! Gorgeous Mandy!

Of course that was not all of the amazing creations from this week! Thanks to everyone who played along, and it was even more fun to see some new players to the Inkspirations challenges as well. Here is a slide show of all the other amazing creations! Enjoy!

If only life was a ‘Walk in the Park’…….

Published by Makeesha under 3-D Items, Cards

 Hey peeps,

i have just sat here thinking of a title for this post. You would think it would be totally easy, but today it wasn’t. I do have a project to show….YAY! and well it has the Walk in the Park DSP on it, and well considering all that has been going on lately, i thought, about it, and came up with that title. ~ Hope it doesn’t sound too depressing! :)

Alas, I am well so no fretting, just flat strap at the moment. Guess what I have been doing for 3 days straight? PACKING, PACKING, and more PACKING! so that leads me to say, NO we haven’t sold the house yet, but I am on a mission to purge any item this house holds, that we do not need, fit, wear, use etc… etc…. It truly is amazing how much “STUFF” we have, that we don’t even use!!! It is terrible, and it feels sooooo good to be rid of it all. I thought it would be a good idea to start packing and putting the boxes away in the shed. That way I am de-cluttering which helps to keep the house in tip-top shape for when we have people come to view it. It also helps to keep it organized, with 4 kids and a whole lot less stuff in the house, means that there is less for them to mess up! Well that is my logic. So far each room has just about had 1/2 to 2/3rds of their contents removed. It looks great, and wow talk about space I now have! I just have the kitchen and the Store room / laundry to go. Hopefully i can get that done by the weekend.

Also we have a new member to the family for a while. We are caring for a little 8 year old Aboriginal Foster boy. He is a pure delight and has fitted into the family really well. His Foster Mum, really needed a break, and so we are his respite carers for a while ~ at least 3 weeks at this stage maybe longer. So that is keeping me more busy, making sure the homework gets done, lunches, washing etc….. All a pleasure of course :)

Then you come to the good old broken ankle, as well…….I seriously have to get a snap shot of this new boot I have got going on! It is really quite the fashion statement!!!! But it is helping, and I appreciate that the boot is keeping my foot in line, and hopefully another step to being back to what it was. Patience is certainly something I am learning at the moment!!! Each day it is a little better though, so that is great! I have to just be really careful that I don’t over-do it, or I will prolong the healing process…..easier said that done!

Okay so now you know what I have been up to lately, I thought I should also show you something stamped….just for a change.LOL! Last week I had my last get together with one of my Stamp Clubs. I really wanted to do a fun project for the last event. I made this cute little slider box, and two cards to go in the inside, and using the Walk in the park paper, and Great friend stamp set.

Here is the front of the box…..

You will see some marks on the cardstock of the box, and that is because at the stampbclub get together it has a colision with a stamp pad or two…LOL! ~ always the way hey. So this is the front of the box, and then on the side it has the ribbon so you can open it like this:

Here it is partially opened. You can see the two cards nicely slotted into the box.

There here is a side view of the box:

I have used Jumbo eyelets set into the box to have the handle run fed through. Easy peasy!

Don’t forget to play along with the current Colour challenge and have the opportunity to win Blog Candy of your choice!!! You have until midnight Thursday evening……I am loving what you gals have come up with so far!

Have a goodie!

Inkspirations Colour Challenge # 12…..

Well it is that time of week where we have a new Inkspirations Challenge! Did you enjoy that week off? I hope that you did, and are now all ready to have a play this week!

It is also a brand new month too! August saw us have the very talented Debbie Pamment as our fabulous Guest Designer. Debbie did an amazing job, and we truly thank you Debbie for contribution to the DT for August ~ THANK YOU~ !

This week is extra special for 2 reasons…….. first, we have two brand new Design Team members! Be sure to check out their creations. And then the second reason is that this week the Inkspirations winner is going to win a $40 stamp set of their choice! So fun blog candy up for grabs, if you are the winning entry this week. That should be a great reason to play along hey!

Okay so for this week, I have a Colour challenge for you, and here they are:

You will be suprised how cute these colours are together….i promise! Here is the sample I made for you all:

I had fun putting this card together. I have used the Petal Pizazz stamp set for the flowers. The large flower is all glittered up using the Heat and Stick powder with Dazzling diamonds glitter. I have also dressed up the flowers with buttons and string (which I coloured with my Copic markers) I also used the Spiral punch along a strip of So saffron DSP from the Windsor knot paper pack, and some Regal rose grosgrain ribbon that I have gathered as I have adhered it to the base. The greeting is from the Really retro Stamp set from Stampin’Up. I have a special someone in mind for this card (can’t say who, or they will know!) so that is why i used that greeting :) Hope you likes! For me it was pretty therapeutic to just put ink to cardstock today!

Be sure to go and check out the Design Team members creations and give them some comment love!
