An Amy R sketch…..

Published by Makeesha under Cards, Sketch Challenges

Hey everyone!

It is beautiful here in Brisbane, and I have had a blast today with Steph! We went to her place, so it was nice to see where she resides! Then we sat down in her stamping space and stamped! YAY! That was pretty special. Steph asked me to bring along some Copic markers so that I can teach her,…….not that I am anything special at them, but it was fun to play together with them! Steph did great, and i am pretty sure that it won’t be long before she is adding some Copics to her stamping collection!

Here is a cute picture of Steph and her darling daughter Jess:

Cute hey!

Okay now onto the Amy R sketch for this week. Here is the sketch Amy provided us with:

For this card I have used Chocolate chip cardstock with Sweet Always and Raspberry tart DSP. I have stamped one of the Gorjuss girls stamps and coloured it with my Copic markers. I have added some pink taffeta ribbon, for embellishment.

Have a goodie!

Hello from Brisbane!

Published by Makeesha under Chitchat with Keesh

Yes I am in Brisvegas (see picture above) for a couple of days! Which is pretty special. Why? well it is Rod really who has allowed this to all happen. Rod has to attend a course here for work for two days, and he hates to travel alone. SO he asked, and asked for me to come along. I was stressed about the kids, but he encouraged me to take the break. I kept thinking about my kids, then about how wonderful it would be, and I was totally torn!

But Rod was obviously REALLY wanting me to come, as he got on the phone and asked a few of our friends and family (Thanks Nellie, Sharon, and Claire) if they were happy to have the kids for a couple of days, and Yep, they all were placed! I was so suprised, but happy too.

So very early this morning we headed to the airport to fly to Brisbane, and for those of you that don’t know where that is, it is on the East coast of Australia, and I live on the West Coast, so quite a distance away. We had a great flight, but the movie was so PATHETIC!!!! it is a pre-release film, so I can’t resist telling you not to go and spend your good hard earned money to see, ” The Great Buck Hudson”, it was so bad, I actually laugh just thinking about it.

Anyway, we arrived, and caught the train to the city, and then found our hotel, which is just lovely too. We have the cutest apartment right in the city. It is so busy today because there is the State of Origin Rugby game on, not to mention that every hotel in town has tripled their price for tonight just because this game is on!!! So yeah back to the hotel.

We are on the 18th floor, and finally got up to our room, we open the door, and discover some lovely goodies on the table waiting for us….. a bottle of wine, and box of chocolates with a card that said, “WELCOME” on the front. I was thinking to myself, “oh well all the extra money we are paying for just tonight, has been rewarded with some treats from the hotel, but I was suprised to see a card too, hmmm that was a little different?

SO i open it in a hurry and it reads:

“To Keesh and Rod

Welcome to Brisbane.

Can’t wait to catch up,

Love Steph and Neil”

I just squeeled in delight as that is my dear friend Steph Pike, who most of you all know! Steph is a SU demo here in Brisbane, and she is such a darling! (she would be to want to do something like this right?) Anyway, the day I found out that I was coming to Brisbane, I called Steph to let her know, as of course I can’t wait to catch up with her! We chat on the phone often….or I should say Steph chats, and I listen… hehe and well we don’t get to see each other all that often, usually just at the Convention and Incentive trip, so this is extra special. So I am really looking forward to seeing Steph tomorrow as she is going to come and pick me up whilst Rod is at his course, so we can spend some time together…..I can hardly wait.

Anyway you will have gathered that I have the Lappie with me, so I will be keeping in touch with you all. I hope you all have a fabulous week!

Mojolicious # 95

Published by Makeesha under Sketch Challenges

 Hey there,

Well I have a quick Mojo Monday sketch to show you. I missed last week, but this week, i got to make something……actually it was in the wee hours of this morning! I had heaps to get done, projects especially, and I just needed to take a break and stamp something for fun. SO Mojolicious it was!

Here is this weeks sketch:

The creation:

Unfortunately it isn’t the best photo as I was taking it when it was still very dark this morning under my OTT light, and it has washed it out a little, but never mind :)

I have used Chocolate chip, Baja breeze, and Very vanilla cardstock, with the Bella Bleau DSP pack from Stampin’Up, and their Friends 24-7 stamp set. I have distressed all the edges, and used the Kraft taffeta ribbon, and pearls for embellishment.

Thanks Mojo Monday for a great sketch to play with this week - different, but great!

Take a pic Tuesday # 17….

Published by Makeesha under Take a pic Tuesday

 Hello!

Thanks for the Happy Birthday wishes for Malakai! We had a lovely day all together. He is enthralled with his new reacing car set…….something Rod really wanted to get him, although i do think it is something that HE wanted too! LOL

I thought this post was done last night, but found that it didn’t publish, so thought I would start from scratch again. So anyway, it is Tuesday, and time again for Take a pic Tuesday!

Recently I have been working on some of my favourite photos from the Stampin’Up Convention, and today I am sharing a photo of me with my dear friend, and most talented Upline Ngaire Anderson. Many of you all know that Ngaire is also the Stampin’Up Demonstrator of the Year for two years running! Ngaire has the best sense of humour and ability to eat, eat and eat some more and not gain a gram…..(so totally jelous!!!) LOL! We always have a blast together, and I am so blessed to have her in my life. I met Ngaire, 8 years ago, and she is the one who introduced me to stamping…..YES, I know! And so I have her to thank for getting me into the hobby that allows me to be creative, and share my skills as well.

I look forward to sharing this photos Scrapbooked for my Photo Journal on Saturday!

Take care,

Make it Monday #37….

 Hey there everyone!

I hope you are all well. Life here is busy! I am enjoying the school holidays, but it has been a hive of activity. I had this tute all sorted yesterday, then had company drop in and stay…..and then off to do my monthly Stamp club, and well it was a tad bit late to upload last night when i got home.

Then today it is my son Malakai’s 6th birthday! So we have been baking cupcakes, set up race tracks, and having guests as well. All great fun :)

So here it is for you all……this weeks Make it Monday, which is what I call a Matchbook gift set.

Materials required:

  • Cardstock
  • Bone scorer
  • Stapler
  • Slit punch
  • Scissors
  • DSP
  • Ribbon
  • Stamps for decoration

Step 1:

Cut a rectangle of cardstock which measures 7cm’s by 19cm’s long.

Step 2:

Score from the left 1.5cms from the end, and then again at 9cm’s, followed by another score line 1/2 cm to create the spine. You will be left with 7cm’s at the end.

Step 3:

Fold up the end at the scored line and staple it in the centre.

Step 4:

Cut a piece of cardstock, measuring 6.5cm’s wide by 8.5cm’s long. Then take your slit punch and push it in as far as it will go and punch on one side, and then the left hand side as well. You should have two slits lined up alongside each other.

Step 5:

Place in your goodies. I have added hairclips, but you can also use decorated paper clips as well.

Step 6:

Fold over the front panel which will tuck in just under the strip that sits up with the stample. Then decorate the front with cardstock, dsp, and ribbon.

These are fun and very easy!

Enjoy!
