A mojo-less mojolicious creation…..

Published by Makeesha under Cards, Sketch Challenges

Hi ya everyone!

WOW I am having a super busy week this week! I have been busy behind the scenes getting lots of things prepped for the Stamp-a-thon, that is only next weekend away! We have been blown away by the response! We had 100 places sold out in 10 days! Unbelievable.

We also had Mali’s 6th birthday party after school today for 7 of his school friends….. I tell ya, those kids can certainly make a lot of noise! They all had a blast though, and Rod was here to help out. He took them on a trailer ride behind the motorbike through our paddock, and I could hear them from the house, so they were having heaps of fun.

So whilst I have been desperate to stamp, I have been up to all sorts of other things. I did sit down yesterday and played along with this weeks Mojo Monday sketch……BUT, I am so not happy with it. I was a bit dubious about showing it to you, but I had absolutely nothing else to post so thought I better post it in the end. - I want your honest feedback on this one. It sometimes seems that the ones I love, I get little comment, and the ones that I think are below average, people comment on…. funny hey! So yeah tell me peoples :)

Here is the sketch:

Here I have created a 12cm by 12cm square card of Baja cardstock. I layered it with some Basic grey DSP on the base. I then cut 3 one inch strips of DSP from the brand new Walk in the Park DSP pack from Stampin’Up to be released on the 1st of August, which I have also added two Rhinestone brads to at both ends of the strips. The stamp I used is called Upsy Daisy from Stampin’Up, which I inked up with my markers, and topped the petals off with some dazzling diamonds glitter. I added some Basic grey taffeta ribbon, and the greeting from the Great friend stamp set with Basic grey ink.

Hope you all have a great nite!

Scrap it Saturday #17 & Take a pic Tuesday #18….

Hey everyone!

Well i can’t believe that it is Tuesday! So here I am saying….Scrap it Saturday, on a Tuesday!

We are home safe and sound from Brisbane, which was a wonderful break away. I spent the weekend recovering from that cold, and of course spending time catching up with the kids. Yesterday was their last day of school holidays so it was nice to just chill out with them before they headed back today.  So whilst it is a little late, it was a case of family comes first this weekend, which I know you all understand! Funny thing is that I actually had this page all completed even before I went to Brisbane!

So I showed you last week that picture of my dear friend and Upline Ngaire, and here is the completed page for you all!

Here I have used a Basic black cardstock for the base. I have then added 4 1 inch strips of the Pink Flamingo DSP from Stampin’Up, which I think reflected the Blue in Ngaire’s dress, and the red flower in my hair well. I punched out 8 1 inch circles, and then placed half of them on the edge of the DSP, along with a large Rhinestone brad for effect. The greeting is from the new, Great friend stamp set (upcoming mini catty) which I have punched out with my designer label punch, and mounted with a Silver Designer label Hodgepodge hardware.

Okay so since it is Tuesday again…..they come around fast! i thought I would show you my next Take a pic for this week in the one post.

Still working on my Convention photos, that I loved, here is the one of me, with the poster board, just to confirm I was at Convention, and not galavanting around some other place! Great, and wonderful Memories!

 Till next time!

Inkspirations Colour Challenge # 10…

Published by Makeesha under Scrapbooking

YEAH! It is that fun time of the week where we get to set the new challenge for the week! I love Fridays!

So this week we have a new Colour Challenge to play with. I really liked the colours, and they are a little different…no in-colours either, just good old SU originals :)

Here is your colours to play with:

I had fun playing with these, and here is my creation:

For this card, I have used the Mellow moss for the base, which I stamped with the Tres Chic background stamp with moss ink. I have then cut a rectangle of Rose red, and Always artichoke cardstock which I stamped the greeting onto. I have stamped the flower from the Echoes of Kindness stamp set from Stampin’Up and watercoloured it with my aquapainters, and stamp pads. I used the spritzer tool to add some splatters. Lastly I have added a bow of Very vanilla taffeta ribbon.

With the flower petals I have actually coloured two and paper toled the blossoms on top of each other. You can see it a little more clearly on this image:

Now be sure to check out the Design Teams creations, because they will be nothing short of amazing!

Inkspirations Sketch Challenge WINNER!….

Howdy doodie yo’all out there in cyberland!

Well it seems that i have woken up with a cold this morning :( Not feeling 100%. See what happens when you take time off to recover from the buziness of life? You get sick…! But all is not lost, I am so loving that I am sitting here in my cute lil’ apartment right in the centre of Brisbane, with my lappie, and iPod, with something else…….. can you guess?, yeah it is something I don’t get all that often……still guessing?

Peace and quiet

Yep that is it, certainly not something I get too much of at home with my 4 little darlings! But whilst it is so nice for now, I am starting to miss them too, and wondering what they are up to! We will be flying back early tomorrow morning, so I will do my best to enjoy that peace and quiet for the remainder of the day :)

Now I have had the wondeful opportunity to see all the wonderful creations from you fabulous people for this weeks Inkspirations Sketch challenge! Lots of beautiful creations, and lots and lots of variety too!

So after much deliberation, I have picked this amazing creation by Vicki Warnaar! I love the flower Vicki has made, and her choice of colour comob,  which I think looks terrific together!

This weeks Honourable Mention is this fabulous creation by Caroline Colgan. I LOVE this colour comob, yes even if it is YELLOW! I think it is so bright and fresh, and very pretty. Love it Caroline!

Here is a slide show of all the other amazing creations from this week….ENJOY!

Bellalicious….

Published by Makeesha under Cards, Sketch Challenges

 Hey there!

Whilst I was out at Steph’s yesterday, and playing with Copics, I coloured this little Ketto stamp, and put it together for Stampingbella’s Sketch challenge this week:

So for this card I have started with a Basic black cardstock base, and then layered up the two triangles of DSP which is Raspberry Tart from Stampin’Up. I have then stamped the Ketto ( i think it is Agnes) and coloured her with my Copic markers. Lastly I added the greeting from the Three little words stamp set, and the wide Certainly celery grosgrain ribbon.

Thanks to Steph for the supplies!!!

Have a goodie!
