A birthday card for Bryn…

Published by Makeesha at 1:43 pm under Cards

 Hi again,

Well here goes this post for the second time. I had nicely written up this post earlier this afternoon, only to have it disappear when I pressed publish! No matter what I did I couldn’t find it again, and my web was shut down……totally weird, but anyway I still want to share it with you all.

Yesterday we celebrated my brother Bryn’s birthday. Kate and Bryn put a dinner together, which was scrumtious….(always nice not to have to cook!) and it was a lovely get together with friends and family.

I made him a card to go with the pressie we got him…. he was a bit intrigued with the jumbo eyelets….. Men and their nuts and bolts hey! ( just like women with shoes, and handbags…LOL!)

It was so great to pull out this Seaside stamp set! I haven’t used it for some time, and well it was a nice change to work with an aquapainter rather than Copics for a change!

This card I have used Baja blue for the base which I have stamped with the Sanded background stamp with Chocolate chip ink. I added a strip of Chocolate DSP from the Ski slope paper pack (new) which has an extra strip of caramel cardstock paper pierced and distressed.

I have then stamped the large shell from the Seaside stamp set with Stazon ink onto watercolour paper, and watercoloured it with my aquapainter and stamp pads (creamy caramel, close to cocoa, chocolate chip & sahara sand. I then added some distressing and the slip of ribbon. Last of all I added the greeting which is from the Inspired by Nature stamp set.

Bryn left today to head back out to work on a barge out in the Ocean leaving Kate here. I have the fun job of keeping her amused and well I am so looking forward to all the girly things we can do together…..beauty salon here we come!

I had really hoped to get the Make it Monday photographed and edited for you today, but got caught up with all sorts of things for the Stamp-a-thon, so just ran out of time. So this week I am going to give it a miss, and work on things for Saturday instead…… ~ sorry!

have a great night!

Love Keesh

Hey Keesh - your card is just beautiful!!! That’s another set that I will get ‘one day’ but I doubt I will ever colour as good as that! lol

    Hi Keesh,
That colouring is incredible. It is a fabulous blokey card. Good on you for realising that you can’t get ready for Saturday & do another million things as well.
    Have fun keeping Kate entertained,
    Cheers,

So, so nice! I love this! Seaside is now retired for us and I didn’t stamp with this set a whole lot before it did, but I absolutely love how you gave so much dimension to that shell with the watercoloring. It looks awesome!

What a fabulous card, lucky Bryn! I am always stumped for ideas when making cards for men and have looked at this set but could never imagine doing anything as creative as this. Well done! - Kerry

I love this card. I have had this set for ages and barely used it. After seeing this card I might have to dig it out and give it another go. Thanks for the constant insprirations!
