Exact same thing, and no dentist would see me for 5 days, by which time I was about to slit my wrists :-( Even went to the Dr to get stronger pain relief, which didn't even help! Get it pulled. Honestly - I did the root canal thing & crown, and spent a long time at the dentist, but in hindsight, should have had it pulled out. Would have saved me (and my bank a/c) a lot of pain & discomfort.
