Random…..
Well the title says it all! I have had the most random week this week, with all sorts of weird and wonderful things happening!!! From receiving all sorts of goodies in the post, to breaking a tooth and going to the dentist, to losing power, to having no computer for 2 days, to losing passwords, to doctors appointments, to getting a cold and then it going in a day? to meeting people i haven’t heard from in years…….oh really it has been a really random week!
Get this too…..Remember the other week I was saying that I had Ivan my brother in law and his new girlfriend come for dinner? Well Ivan was here helping us solve our electricity problems this morning, and he tells me that his girlfriend Jolene, was talking to her sister in Winnipeg Canada, and she asked if she knew a Makeesha Byl because she reads her website and she if from Perth…… and Jolene is like…..YEAH that is Ivan’s sister in law…..how spinny is that??!! So a big hello to Jo’s sister in Winnipeg!!!!
Anyway the week has been good for the most part and I am just taking the time today to get caught up on all sorts of things on my puter! But I wanted to share with you 3 things that happened this week by photo!
First……. I want to announce that I have a new baby! Yep it is true! Want to see what she looks like?
This is my brand spanking new Cannon 50D Digital SLR! I was so excited to have saved enough ( which was quite the lot of moolah!!!) to go and get her, and wow she is just beautiful! I am just dying to spend more time with her, and I also have to give her a name, which I haven’t quite come to a a conclusion on yet. She weighs in at 3kg’s so I definitely have to handle her with care ( and a good thing I go to PT, to have the arms to carry her!)! I also bought the extra 50ml lens which is for taking close ups, and perfect for photographing my creations etc…. So now with my new programs, I can have all sorts of photography fun, just to find the time to do it all
And get this….more random! The guy who helped me in the Camera store, happened to mention that he used to live in the same suburb as me, and on a street just a few metres away. He goes on to tell where he went to school and well in the end we worked out that he went on the same school bus as Rod my hubby! Totally spinny!
Here are two of the first lot of photos taken with my new baby:
Janaya blowing a thistle weed, the trees in the background are the Persimmons in the Orchard. They turn the most amazing Autumn colours and when there is 600 of them it is quite an amazing site!
Secondly, this is why I love being a Mum……….
I came home the other day to find this on my kitchen benchtop…..a hand picked bunch of flowers with this note attached, that reads:
ah good to know I am the friendliest….
It is moment like this, that you just love what you do, and realize you are so blessed, it also helps you to forget that muddy footprint on the carpet that has just been steam cleaned, or the messy bedrooms etc….
here is another pic I captured of the kids the other night….
My kids all LOVE books, so it is rather cute to see them all lined up in their winter flannies, with Elijah reading to them all….. too cute!
Okay thirdly I want to show you what happens when you think your darling 3 year old is having a wonderful afternoon sleep, but open the door to find……..?
She has created a new form of tatoo…..yes with stampin’ spots that is! Check this out!
the overall appearance….
The arms….
The legs….
The feet…
It is a good thing that the stamp pads are non-toxic with all that ink! I soaked her in a bath for over an hour, and it faded but it by no means gone! And well she has to show everybody her new body artwork as well…… I wonder if she will grow to be a stamper or not?
It is good to have a laugh now and then, and I suppose looking back over this weird and random week, I can definitely say my life is not boring! I wonder what next week will bring?!
I actually got to stamp too, for a couple of challenges however I didn’t get the chance to upload them on time because of the whole no computer thing, but I will be back to share them with you, as soon as I have finished viewing all the challenge entries from last week.
I have just heard good news that my brother Bryn has landed safely in New York, so that is good. I never usually worry about people travelling, but after that Air France plane going down the other day, it does make you feel a little nervous when you have a loved one up in the air! Well Bryn will be bringing Kate back home with him, and she hopes to live here for a year, so that will be nice, and I am sure you will hear more about that in time to come

My, oh my my….what a week you have had. I hope your tooth is okay and not giving you too much pain. I know firsthand what toothache can do to your sanity.
I love your new camera and know how hard you have worked for it. Enjoy getting to know “her” and I can’t wait to see the awesome photos you come up with. You already look like a pro, judging from the shots you have taken of Janaya.
The flowers from your kids are sooo lovely. What a wonderful gift for Mum. Makes it all worthwhile doesn’t it??
Glad to hear too that your brother is safe and it will be so nice for you when Kate comes to stay for a year. I’m sure you will have lots of great times to look forward to.
Enjoy your weekend Keesh, sounds like it’s been a hectic week so I hope you manage to fit in some time to relax real soon. Take care
Oh Keesh, that was a great read!! A few laughs thrown in which helps. Glad to hear I’m not the only one dealing with kiddie miss-adventures. Take a guess what Kiera did with Monz’s cutter and her $5 note from Oma???!!!!! Gotta love them though! Hope next week turns out a bit less hectic/adventurous for you.
OMG Keesh….did u physically breathe inbetween sentences when you were typing this entry. I thought my life was fast. Totally spin out thing re the 6 degs of separation. I had one of them too….involving Marelle Taylor….freaky the way the world works ain’t it?? LURVE your new baby…u will love it, hug it and call it George…sorry…Warner Bros flashback then..LOL!! Keep the pics of ur stamping diva for her 21st or bring them out when she says she wants to be an interior designer. relax and chill and go play with ALL your kids. Love and friendship darl xx
Hi Keesh,
What a week, sounds like mine.
I had to laugh when I saw the photo’s of your daughter, I recall my boys doing “tatoos” over their whole bodies with Niko pens when they were supposed to be having a sleep.
You will love your camera, I bought a Canon 1000 for my birthday last year, and love it, but would really love a course on using.
My tooth broke in half last year, I was on a boat cruise going down the Katherine Gorge, I couldn’t beleive it, I think I was actually in shock for about an hour. The dentist had to pull it out (not what you want to hear, sorry) due to it being so high up.
I’m heading to the states in October which I am so excited about. The tickets are booked but we are still planning what is in between. We are flying into LA for a couple of days then flying to Las Vegas and onto the Grand Canyon from there were not sure what yet, we are thinking of flying to Waco Texas for a big Rodeo (husbands an ex Bull Rider) then driving back to San Fransisco, where we fly back to Sydney and back to Darwin. I am so excited, we haven’t had a holiday in years and certainly not one like this.
I was wondering if next time you talk/email to your brother and girlfriend next time if they have any hints on travelling over there and if they know of any must sees in those areas.
I wonder if those Michaels shops that all the American bloggers talk about are everywhere? LOL I think I’ll need an extra suitcase. But if they have any hints or ideas I would greatly appreciate it as the only time I’ve been overseas was to Bali about 17 years ago.
Thanks,
luv

Well Keesh, that is about as random as it gets. Little Janaya…you gotta laugh
Oh my…..those “tattoos” are precious! I am amazed that at three years old, she was focused so long….I mean, she did a great job, really, all the way down the arms and legs…she didn’t get bored or tired of it and give up halfway! Gotta give her credit. And it looks like it is Brilliant Blue, which I call the “contaminator” because once it’s on there, it’s on there for good! I don’t even clean my stamps on my scrub after using BB cuz it gets on the next stamp I clean!!! TOO funny, TFS!
LeAnne
OMG Keesh, I just KNEW Sophie would be a bad influence on Miss J! That’s exactly the sort of thing she would do in the company of a stampin’ spot…! Am impressed with that neat row down her right leg though - did she have access to your SAMJ too?!
Loving the look of your new baby too. Gotta get me one of those. It’s on my list…
S x
Hahaha…what a lovely little girl and what a great stamper! Just that sort of thing my little one would do too….always trying to get into my stamping supplies. This really brought a smile to my face.
Chantell
I’m so glad LeAnne sent me your way, I needed a bit of a giggle! How sweet of them and I love your camera! ~chris
Hi Keesh,
when I got to the end and saw Janaya I just cracked up. So far Ellie has only managed to get her hands on pens and paint - but I can just imagine she would love to do the same. I won’t be showing her the pics
just to be on the safe side!
Hope next week isn’t so crazy but you never can tell. I loved the pic of the kids together reading I hope my two do the same. Good luck with your tooth and enjoy your new baby!
Love Kim
Oh Keesh, so many priceless memories here. Wonderful. Makes you treasure them even more ey?
Oooooh, looks like a fabulous camera. I know you will have heaps of fun with your new toy. Great pics of Janaya - what a little tresure she is. Hope you’re weekend is going nicely. Take care x

That’s too funny about Jay! You gotta remember, when they’re quiet that’s when the trouble happens. Anddddddd, I think made the perfect decision about the camera. The couple photos you’ve posted are fantastic. Can’t wait to get together and go on a phototaking outing! C u in the morning.
What a week!! But I believe you saved the best for last! She is adorable and modeled her creation beautifully. Thanks for the laugh…and hope next week will be a little more settled.
