Deary me…..

Hey there peeps,

Well you are probably  where I got to over the past few days……well I am really sad to say that I have been down and out, well and truly with the worst ever tooth ache!

Remember that tooth that chipped in half 2 weeks ago? Well they put in a temporary filling and I was good to go, at least till they could fix it properly.

Last week however i was feeling it being very sensitive, and was thinking i was getting an ear infection, which it wasn’t. However it was the nerve from that tooth shooting pain up my jaw to my ear. I ended up having the worst night on Friday with not being able to sleep from the pain. The strongest meds that i had here wasn ‘t touching it a bit. And of course I couldn’t get through on the phone to the dentist Saturday. SO in the end i just drove there and rocked up. They were fabulous and saw me straight away.

As it turns out the temporary filling had come away and was cracked, so everything I ate was going straight to the nerve……” I am not suprised you are in a lot of pain” the dentist said :) Which of course made me feel better. So they numbed me up and re-did the temporary filling, and gave me some Panadeine forte, and Nurofen which has been helping with the pain. But I have been feeling pretty tired, which is of course part of the medication, and partly from having little sleep.

So between now and tomorrow, when I go back to the dentist I have to decide if I am going to spend $2,500 on a Root canal, and Crown for that tooth, or $90 to have it pulled. I am not 100% sure what to do, but am leaning towards having it pulled, seeing as you will never see it, and I am saving myself a HUGE amount of money.

Anyway I am sure you didn’t come here to hear all my woes about teeth, but I did just want to explain why i haven’t been around.

I still have to finish viewing the entires…..I have about 10 to go and then I will share the winning entries with you. As well as the Scrap it Saturday, etc……

However, I do have a card to share which was last weeks Mojo Monday, that I stamped last week and hadn’t managed to upload yet.

Here was the sketch :

My mojo creation:

Finally inking up that Upsy Daisy stamp set from Stampin’Up!. For this card I have used Chocolate chip cardstock for the base, and layered DSP from the Urban garden, and the Urban Oasis DSP packs from Stampin’Up. I have inked up the floral stamp with my markers, Creamy caramel, Baja breeze, and Not quite navy. I have stamped the greeting from the Cute and curly label bundle stamp, and punched it out with the Curly label punch. Lastly I distressed all the cardstock edges and added some Kraft taffeta ribbon, tied off with Baja button from the button Bouquet set, and some vanilla half pearls.

On a very happy note, today I picked up my brother Bryn and his fiancee Kate from the airport at lunchtime. Talk about exciting to see them both back again safe and sound. Kate was so ecstatic about her ring, and my oh my it looks amazing on her as well……. We are about to head over to Mum and Dad’s for a celebratory dinner! I might even get a picture to share with you all!

Okay I will be back very soon,……I promise!

PS… thanks for your patience!

Inkspirations Colour Challenge # 9….

Hey there……Inkspirations Challenge time!!!

This week we have a Colour challenge for you, which I think you will enjoy! - I love this colour combo, as it works both great for Masculine and Femenine cards alike. I have made two femenine cards this time. I do however often hear that masculine cards are hard to do…….so maybe an extra challenge to make your card a masculine one, and then wow think of all the ideas we will have at the end of the week! I will endeavour to make another one…..Masculine that is, this week for you all too!

So here are the colours:

My colour challenge creations:

For this card I have used the Friendly jumbo roller with Basic grey ink onto the grey cardstock along the base. then added a strip of the Baja breese DSP topped with a strip of the Ruby red cardstock and Baja breeze satin ribbon.  I stamped up my bird and greeting with my Stampin’ write markers from Stampin’Up. The stamps used are the Friends 24~7 set. Lastly I added the two half pearls

Then the next card, which is really basic, and so easy to create!

Then for this card, I have used Baja breeze for the base which I stamped with the Polka dot background, then added a strip of the Basic grey cardstock along with some whisper white, which I have stamped up with the Pocket silhouettes stamp set. Just adding some Baja striped ribbon and a red button to finish it off. I don’t love this card, but it is a quick 5 minute whip up.

So there you have mine, now be sure to go and check out the Design Teams samples, as they are sure to be GORGEOUS!

Raspberry Suite Colour Challenge # 10

Published by Makeesha under Colour Challenges

 YYYYYAAAAAYYYYYY~!!!

I have finally done one of the very gorgeous and talented Dawn McAvey’s colour challenges! I saw this one today and the coloured really popped for me. SO I whipped out the supplies and here is what I came up with….

The colours:

I wasn’t sure where this card was heading when I started, but here is where it landed…..rather different, but something about it I liked in the end.

I have used Chocolate chip cardstock for the base, and added two different strips of DSP from the Raspberry tart pack from Stampin’Up. I have cut a medium circle of Very vanilla cardstock, and then stamped the large filigree image from the Kind thoughts stamp set from Stampin’Up! (retired) with Chocolate ink and embossed it with clear embossing powder.

The butterfly is stamped in Cameo coral and rock and rolled in Rose red ink. I have then cut it out, and blinged it up with some glitter. Lastly I added the wide Chocolate chip grosgrain ribbon, and dressed it up with a Vanilla button from Stampin’Up’s button latte box. I then added the vanilla half pearls with mini glue dots to decorate the outer perimeter of the circle.

Thanks Dawn for a lovely challenge, and I hope to make it back again soon!

Bellarific Friday Sketch Challenge…..

Published by Makeesha under Sketch Challenges

Hey peeps!

well thursday is over already…….another week zooming by, at the speed of light…..or so it seems! It is still raining here, and looks like it will be that way for another week! They have cancelled all the boat trips out to Rottnest island (of WA coast) for the weekend as the weather is meant to be NASTY! spose that means winter has well and truly set in. But I am sure you haven’t come here for a weather update have you…LOL

Okay so since i have made quite the investment in the Stampinbella stamps, I want to put them to use, and what a great way to do it with Stampingbellas weekly sketch challenge! This weeks sketch is like this:

Okay so I have used that Pink flamingo DSP from Stampin’Up AGAIN~!!! I am so not a brights person, but I am enjoying this paper :) To be honest my new Copics actually only have the colours that match this DSP, and well it is a bit limiting! SU doen’t have any papers with Violet colours which is the others that I have. BUT I do confess to making another purchase, because I wasn’t coping too well with not having any PINK! I had 2 colours in that whole pack and they are not matching……….a girl has got to have her Pink, so I am anxiously waiting for them to arrive :) Till then it is lots of Pink flamingo….cha cha cha

Here is a close up of the Maisy Ketto stamp that I have coloured, and glittered her wings! too cute :)

Makes me wish for summer now!

Thanks Em (the Stampingbella hostess with the mostest…..AND whose birthday it is today!) HAPPY BIRTHDAY EM! Loved the Sketch :)

Take a pic Tuesday # 16

Published by Makeesha under Take a pic Tuesday

 Hey everyone!

Thanks for the lovely comments about my headaches! I woke up feeling wonderful this morning and rather giddy because I didn’t have a headache and my ear was fine……! YAY! It is still lingering though, that nasty headache, so I have booked to see the chiro, and hopefully it is just my neck that is out a little and causing all the fuss.

Anyway, yesterday I put a status update on my Facebook saying I had exciting news to share tomorrow…….it has literally driven everyone mad not knowing what it is. LOL! And well it is evening now and I still haven’t spilt the beans! :)

Okay so the big news is the that my brother Bryn (who I always talk about) and Kate from Maryland USA, got engaged on the weekend!!! WHOO HOOO! It is all very exciting, and since he is my only brother and Kate is an only child, it is all very exciting to invite her into the family. I had a little part to play with it all, and was the only one that knew he was going to ask her. I ended up being the ring designer…..and arranging it all with the jewller, whist Bryn was stuck out at sea on the Barge he was commissioned to work on! Talk about a lot of pressure!!! But I am happy to say he loved it, and so did Kate which is what really matters.

Talk about being romantic though……! He took her out a few days earlier to buy her a new dress,…then on the day had booked her a massage, then when they left to go for dinner at a 5 star elite restaurant, there was a Limo to take them there. But that isnt all! He had arranged a horse and carriage to take them around Charleston, and then asked her in Washington park…..talk about sweet and romantic, which I have to say I didn’t know Bryn was like that! LOL!.

And kate being who she is just about died of shock and was having a good cry from it all. But most importantly she said YES! They phoned me straight away which was so sweet, and Kate was talking 100 miles a minutes, and just beside herself with excitement and still in shock!

Don’t you just love a happy story? Anyway that has just made my week, and I smile each time I think about it. Not having ever had a sister, I am so blessed with the sister-in-law that i will have! :) Of course I am dying to see photos, and that ring on her finger (thankfully it fit perfectly!) but I don’t have to wait too long as they will be arriving back in Perth on Monday……Can’t wait!

I couldn’t announce it on Facebook just yet because I have been waiting for them to be able to phone everyone, and well when they haven’t put it on their own status (which I thought they would have) I kinda don’t want to be the one to spill the beans on their behalf because we do share the same friends and family!

Now to just save lots and lots of Moolah to take all 6 of us over to the States for the wedding! Oh how am I going to resist all those Reese’s peanut butter cups, shopping at Michaels, and visiting all my stamping friends I now have…..I am going to have to resist more Copics and start saving BIG TIME, …..LOL!

Okay so what I have come her for really….. this weeks Take a pic Tuesday! I plan on doing a few of my favourite Convention photos in the next few weeks, as I never get round to doing them, and well it is a special part of the year that I would love to have in my Photo journal for 2009.

So going through all my pictures……that everyone so kindly sent me ( I think I have about 3,000 now! LOL) I have picked this one first!

This is my gorgeous, loving, caring, funny, very talented, dependable, with amazing hair, photographer, with fabulous fashion sense, always supportive, and beautiful friend Monique (aka…. monnie moo)

Monnie has come to Convention with me the past two years, and we have always had a blast! She is also my excersize partner in crime, who really gets to see me with bed hair, a grupmy face..cuz it is toooo cold, hot and sweaty days, or just plain still too tired to talk mood sometdays, but each day at 5:45am we get together, and she is always smiling and always positive…….AND she doesn’t get angry when I accidentily forget to set the alarm and leave her standing at the end of my driveway! Now wouldn’t you call that a fabulous friend??!! Well that she is, and I feel very very blessed to have Monnie in my life, and well this photo is a great reminder, of what a wonderful friendship we share!

So I look forward to scrapping this page for you all on Saturday!

Have a good night!
