Mojolicious # 78

Published by Makeesha under Cards, Sketch Challenges

Time for some Mojolicious……don’t know why I call it that, but I am sooo addicted to it now….LOL!

This week was another wonderful sketch from the Mojo Monday blog and i enjoyed having a quick play along.

Here is the sketch:

Here is what I managed:

I have really missed that Pomegranite satin ribbon, so had to use it one more time before the colour is gone for goo! I also dug out the Holiday Harmony DSP which was in the Spring mini catty.

So u haven’t seen this stamp before??? Well you could get it for FREE! Yep this stamp set is one of the new Hostess stamp set, that are going to be in the Brand New Catalog out 1st April! It is called Echoes of Kindness, and is just delightful.  As a Demonstrator we had the opportunity of purchasing one of the Hostess sets this year, and so I definitely wanted to take advantage of that.

For this card I have used Always Artichoke, and layered up the DSP. I stamped the flower with Stazon onto watercolour paper. I was trying out some different watercolouring techniques and gave this one a more random type of colouring rather than all in the lines etc…. I think it doesn’t look too bad for a first effort, but I definitely will want to work on that one a bit!

The greeting is from the same stamp set, which I stamped in Artichoke ink. I have added some paper piercing for effect and the hat pin with crystals and pearls to bling it up.

So there is my Mojolicious for this week!

Have a great night!

Magnolia Down Under Challenge # 3

One of the creations I made today was for the Magnolia Down Under challenge # 3. I will be scraping it in by the skin of my teeth, but I am really happy with how this turned out.

The challenge this week was to create a card that had 1. Yellow ribbon 2. Tilda stamp, & 3. Have a flower of some kind.

So I set to work with my only other Tilda stamp (I have two, and used the other one last week) with some yellow ribbon and flowers……

Here she is:

I am happy with how this turned out in the end, and it is my Niece Courtney’s 3rd birthday on Monday, so I now have a special card to give her.

I have used YELLOW….yep suprise, suprise for the base. So Saffron to be correct and then layered it up with a sheet of DSP from Stampin’Up’s Spring Fling DSP pack. I paper pierced the outer edges. I then added a strip of pink spotty paper from the same pack and layered the yellow ribbon on there ( challenge req’ment 1).

I stamped my Tilda with hearts stamp with Stazon ink onto Stampin’Up’s watercolour paper and coloured her with my Aquapainter, stamp pads and ink refills. I added dazzling diamonds glitter to her fairy wings to bling her up. Last of all I added some flowers topped off with a rhinestone brad in the centre.

isn’t she just adorable? Thanks to the MDUC girls for the challenge this week!

Scrap it Saturday # 9

Howdy!

I hope you have had a great Saturday! I have had a fabulous day today…..relaxing, taking it easy, and yep I will let you in on a little secret…..(im still in my jammies at 5pm)! Terrible i know, but they have just been so super comfy, and Rod keeps trying to teach me to chill out, so he is rather amused by it all. Good thing no one has randomly “popped in” today! I have worked really hard this week to do all sorts of things off my list, so it feels reallly rewarding to be taking the day very casually.

Okay enough waffle, here is my Scap it Saturday page for you!

Here is that little man of mine! I have used Basic Grey cardstock and then all the trimmings from the Crew Kids Boys Scrapping Kit from Stampin’Up! Oh how I have loved this kit this year. the colours are fabulous, and the die-cut adhesives are SOOOPER DOOOOPER easy to use. Wham Bam and you have yourself a page or a card. I have just used some of the wide double stitched Bashful blue ribbon to tuck in under the photo.

So there you have this weeks Scrap it Saturday!

Ciao!

A quickie…..

Published by Makeesha under Cards, Sketch Challenges

 Hey again,

Okay so I have one last quick post for you! You see have a date with the couch tonight! yep, not like me at all, but the kids have a school sleep over tonight which is a vey exciting annual event. Hubby has volunteered himself to be a co-ordinator so is sleeping at the school too. So I went to the DVD store today, and picked out a couple, and I am going to sit the night out on the couch watching girlie movies!

Talking about movies…….Look what I came across the other day……

Okay now how exciting is this???? The sequel to Twilight…..roll on 20th November I say!

I have managed to finally get this card done for Amy Rysavy’s challenge this week. It is too late for me to link, but I thought I would share it with you anyway. It is quite a different sketch, and it took me a couple of attempts to get it to what I wanted it to be, and I ended up using a stamp I haven’t touched in oh so long too!

Here is the sketch:

and my wee creation:

I am soooo not an orange person but for the past 6 months I have been using it HEAPS. Havne’t quite got the stage where I am wearing it as a colour tho!

I have used rose red cardstock, and some Pumpkin pie prints DSP, along with the pink spotty strip from the Bali Breeze DSP pack. I added some striped Pumpkin ribbon, and the BEWDIFUL Flower Fusion felt flowers.

I stamed the little birdie from the Fun & Fast notes stamp set and coloured it with a blender and ink pads. Lastly I added some paper piercing and the greeting which is from the Wonderful Favourites stamp set.

Okay I am off to the couch! See you tommorrow with teh Scrap it Saturday!

Have a great night!

Inkspirations Sketch Challenge # 6

Hey there,

It is completely raining buckets here at the moment!!! That is such a strange feeling after it being summer, and hot for so long…….but it also means that winter will be on its way before we know it! I am not a big fan of winter like I mentioned before, but we have survived before!

Well I am sure you are wanting to see the next challenge I have for you this week. Yes a Sketch!

I had heaps of fun making up my samples for this one……oh the possibilities!!! The idea is to follow the sketch, but you can alter is slightly. I made my circles a bit bigger as you will see on my samples below:

Here I have used a fab colour combo of mine. Chocolate chip, Pretty in pink, Pumpkin pie, and Regal rose. I have used the One of a kind stamp set (which is going to be in the new catty…YAY baby!) I have used some pink spotty paper which is from the Spring Fling DSP pack from Stampin’Up. I used the scallop edge punch on the pumpkin pie cardstock, and layered Regal rose on top, I cut the two circles out with my CM circle cutter, and lastly I added a pop-up glue dot in the centre and blinged it up with some pink chunky glitter. The greeting is from the same stamp set.

Haven’t seen that stamp or paper before???? Well off course not, because it is all NEW STUFF!!! As Demonstrators, this year we were given a wee sneek peek of some new items that were going to be in the new catty, and get to order them too! This is a new stamp set called Cheers to you, which has different glasses in it, and it is OH SO FUN!

I have used some new Designer series paper from a new pack called Good Morning Sunshine, which has a range of the new In-colours for the next catalog……I am so dying to get a new catty into my hot little hands. Most other Australian demo;s have theirs by now, but because we live on the complete other side of the country, have to wait for postage delays…….BOO HOO!!

So I have used the DSP, Good morning sunshine, and Kiwi kiss, and Pacific point cardstock with some Whisper white. I have also added an extra layer of froth to the beer mug to add depth. The two little spots up the top, is little punch outs of the 1/4 inch circle punch that I added some Crystal effects to.

So there you have a little sneek peek into the new catty! - On the mention of the catty, please remember thtat you only have 10 days left to order from the old catalog, and things are selling FAST!

Want to play along?

If you would like to play along, all you need to do is follow the directions:
