BOUF challenge for one last time! :(

Published by Makeesha under Cards

Hey everyone,

Firstly I want to say WOW thanks so much for your wonderful words of encouragement today! I truly appreciate it! I think I have you all worried tho! I was so tired yesterday, and I suppose my post was rather morbid, which was how I was feeling. Amazing how a good nights sleep really helps though!

I have found things to be really busy as of late, and taking some time off like many of you have suggested, sounds like a good idea. It will be school holidays in just over a week, so i will take those two weeks off from Challenges, and MIM;s etc……. Of course I will still stamp and share, but it will be really nice to just stamp for the enjoyment, and not for a specific post etc… But please rest assured that I am perfectly fine, and will keep soldiering on! (and try to get a little more sleep now and then too! :) )

Anyway back to the fun stuff!!! You all know that Karen and I have some craziness going on with the BOUF (aka Fabulous flowers) we have challenged each other to use it in different ways in the past couple of months, and Oh what fun we have been having.

Well we have given each other one last challenge before the BOUF is gone for good! sob, sob!!!

Karen’s challenge for me was it had to be using only Bold brights colours (my least fave) and have NO ribbon, and NO paper piercing…….oh the colour, the ribbon wasn’t too bad……BUT NO PAPER PIERCING!!! Has she got to be kidding me???!!! That is like telling a chocoholic to not eat chocolate at Easter…hey LOU!

So I put my sunnies on ( i would recommend you do too when you view the following creation!!!) and got out some of the Bold bright cardstock once I waded through the cobwebs…LOL!

Finally I settled on a couple of colours, and here is the end result……. I pre-warn you that this card would have looked 100% better with some paper piercing, so you will have to blame Karen that it isn’t quite up to scratch…hehehe

Here she is my very last official legal BOUF creation!

Warned you to wear sunnies! :)

Okay so I have used Pink passion, Only orange, and Pixie pink for the coloured cardstock and ink. I layered up the different colours onto the stamp with my markers, finishing off with some dazzling diamonds glitter to bling it up. I have used the greeting from the One of a kind stamp set, which I placed into a piece of Silver hodgepodge hardware. On the background I have stamped the BOUF with Versamark and embossed it with white Embossing powder.

Thanks Karen, for the great challenge, even though I am not 100% happy with the creation! :) Hmmmm what shall we think of next for our nutty challenges? Karen has a suggestion, but hmmmm I am not to sure about it yet. I think she is going to have to offer to buy the stamp set for me, so I will actually play along with her nonsense……hehehe  One thing is for sure…..we will keep you posted!

Now be sure to go and check out Karen’s BOUF creation and give her some comment love too!

Right-O, I will be off to finish putting the MIM together and replying to oh so many emails!

Have a goodie!

MIA…….

Published by Makeesha under Cards

 Hey everyone!

I suppose some of you have been wondering why I have been MIA, well actually i even received a couple of emails saying just that…….WHERE R U?

Well I am going to be honest and say I kinda hit a wall today! I have had the busiest 10 days ever, with something on every night for 10 days, 4 lots of people for dinner in the past week, kids birthday parties, airport runs,  workshops, babysitting my neice, catching up wtih friends, date with Rod……..Oh i could go on and on.

Today I had everything to go, all ready to catch up with you, get the tute done, post the Scrap page, washing, cleaning, babysitting……….I started off great, but by 3pm, I had hit a wall, was so stressed to the point that my heart was racing, and I was breathless. NOT a nice feeling at all!

So that is where I just had to STOP. Lay down, and try to tell myself, it really doesn’t matter, if some post is not done, or that the washing isn’t quite finished etc…. etc…..

Which brings me to the point in telling you I haven’t quite got those other projects done as of yet.

So a BIG request for patience, from me, and here’s hoping a good nights sleep will have me all refreshed and ready to stamp and post tommorrow!!!!

But on that note, I thought I would just share with you two cards that we did at my Stamp technique Clubs this month.

First one was the Emerging colour technique. I just had to do this with the BOUF before it is packed away on a shelf, because it works so amazing with this big flower.

Here it is:

Of course using the current In colours for one last time as well! I used the Polka dot background stamp as well.  Also adding some gold brads, Bayou double stitched ribbon, and some paper piercing for detail.

Then we did the Faux Silk technique. This works a treat with the Embrace life stamp set.

This card was actually inspired by a gorgeous card my good friend Steph made! I have used the Ruby red, Mellow moss, and  Groovy guava cardstock together, with the Embrace life, and Sanded background stamps.

Well, like i said I am off to bed to get some rest, so that tommorrow I can start with a new fresh day!

Thanks for your patience and I look forward to posting !

Inkspirations Colour Challenge # 6

Hey there!

It is that time of week again for the new challenge! This week it is time for a Colour challenge…….and I just know some of you will be like..”Keesh, do you have to pick a doozy color combo AGAIN!???”

Well I truly hope you will bare with me, and give it a go! I found this colour combo from a shirt my darling Janaya had last summer, and have been a little hooked on it since. So trust me on this one, you will like it, I promise! Oh and since it is the last few days of the current In colours I had to use my very favourite one of the 6 of them, Purely Pomegranite! I understand some of you may be out of stock, so you are welcome to substitute it for Rose red if you like.

Here they are:

ARRRGGG……is that what I hear? :)

So here are my samples, just to prove that it does work together!

For this card I have used the Embrace life, Tres chic, and Wonderful favourites stamp sets. I have watercoloured the flowers with my aquapainter and ink refills.

And of course I had to combine the colours with my fave stamp as well……>BOUF!

Last of all i thought I would share with you the scrap page that got me into this colour combo in the first place. You may have seen it before, but that was quite some time ago!

Here you can see that shirt that Jaye was wearing. I have used the Priceless stamp set, as well as the So swirly roller.

Want to play along?

If you would like to play along, all you need to do is follow the directions:

1. Make your creation following the challenge ie, sketch, colour, or inspiration image.

2. Load your creation up onto your blog or a public viewing forum like Splitcoast Stampers, with a direct link back to the post on this website, so that others viewing the post will know where the challenge has come from, and it is courtesy to do so.

3. Then come back to this post so that you can add your name and link in the Mr. Linky!

You have until the Thursday the 2nd April midnight to get your entries linked.

I will pick a winner and an honourable mention on Friday 3rd April.

Have a wonderful weekend!

BOUF shannanigans for one last round….

Published by Makeesha under Chitchat with Keesh

Hey all!

Well what can I say…….I have only 4 more days of the BOUF…….!!! BOO HOO!

Whilst I will not be parting with it, I won’t be using it as a fave stamp for my work once it is retired. So reflecting on that, i thought yesterday I really needed to pull it out for one last beutific creation!

I emailed the gorgeous Karen, and my BOUF Fan club president, to see if she was up for one last Challenge with the BOUF before it is stored away on a shelf to collect dust. And what did she say???? OF COURSE!

Some of you would know we have been challenging each other to weird, and wonderful challenges with the BOUF, the past couple of months, which I might add has been so much fun!

Well the challenge I have put forward to Karen is this……..BOUF, with one colour, no ribbon, and no paper piercing…..similar to my challenge from her, which you can check out here.

I will be making this creation and loading it up to my website at lunchtime on Tuesday, and I think we will be relying on all of you wonderful people to judge them and pick the winning creation……think you are up for that?

Well I best be off, and start thinking of the most wonderful creation with my darling BOUF!

Take care!
