Make it Monday # 24
Well here it is ………the very first Make it Monday for 2009!
I tell you, it was a little hard to get my head into the tutorial mode again….what to make that is something new, unseen, and a little bit creative had it in a spin, but alas, I finally came up with something, and a few more ideas to come as well.
Here is what I called and Envelope Gift Card Holder
Materials required:
- Paper trimmer
- Circle punches
- Stamps
- Stamp pads
- 12 x 12 DS paper
- A4 Cardstock
- Bone scorer
- Scissors
- Velcro dot
- Pencil
- 5 in 1 Envelope template
Step 1:
Trace the 5 in 1 envelope template on the wrong side of your 12 x 12 DS paper sheet with a pencil.
Step 2:
Cut out your envelope on the pencil lines.
Step 3:
Score along the pencil lines, to make it easy to fold your envelope together.
Step 4:
Fold up your envelope and tape together.
Step 5:
Punch a half moon out at the top of your envelope.
Step 6:
Trim a millimeter off the closed end of your envelope, so that you have an open end like this:
Step 7:
Punch another half moon with your circle punch at the open bottom end of the envelope.
Step 8:
Fold your envelope in half, or till the two half moons are just under one another. Then add tape across the top and a strip in the centre. Close the envelope together.
Step 9:
Take your envelope template again and place it over your co-ordinating cardstock, and pencil it around the arched end, just in from the edge of the cardstock.
Step 10:
Cut your half moon out.
Step 11:
Adhere that half moon over the top of your envelope top. This will create a border on the front.
Step 12:
Make a co-ordinating card which is 3″ by 3 3/4′” in size. This will fit in the top pocket.
Step 13:
Insert your card in the top pocket.
Step 14:
Add a gift card to the front pocket.
Step 15:
Add a Velcro dot on the front so that you can fasten down the front panel.
Step 16:
Stamp an image and place it onto two punched circles. Here I have used the In the stars stamp set.
Another sample:
Holder using Bali Breeze DS paper from Stampin’Up, with the Polka Dot Party stamp set.
And this is the coordinating card that goes in the inside.
Of course you can use the pocket for something alternate, like movie tickets, cash, or vouchers to give to someone. These are super easy, and you are getting another use out of your 5 in 1 envelope template too!
Enjoy!

As always, I love it!
That is really, really cute! I really must go through all your Make It Mondays and try them out!
Oh, you know me already!! Keesh, I’ve had this 5-in-1 envelope template for nearly a year, and NEVER opened it, so TODAY, I will be making your Envelope Gift Card Holder. You’re FABULOUS!!! And BTW, in my house, it’s more “Go ahead”, (aka “Sure”), as in, you can do it, but you’d better be aware that there will be CONSEQUENCES!! LOL, our poor men - they really haven’t got a chance have they! Have a great day.
Gorgeous idea Keesh. I haven’t seen this template used before so haven’t got one - maybe on my next order - LOL. Thanx for another great idea!
