A New Year……A New Challenge…..with a prize!!!
Hi everyone!
Well at the end of last year we all took a break from the weekly Challenge that I set. I know I have enjoyed the break, and I hope you have too!
But now that it is a New Year, it is time for New Challenges! I have loads planned, and I really hope you will join me weekly on the Challenge journey!
This may sound super corny, and a bit of a plug for you to participate, but I can really look back and see that participating in Challenges has really expanded my Stamping skills, got me to get outside my comfort zone often, which is turn has made me to be able to stamp different in different styles etc…. If you come away from Case-ing everyones work, and having to challenge yourself to come up with it yourself, you actually will be amazed that you CAN DO IT! And once more you get a really good buzz out of it being “your creation” not someone else’s that you have copied.
So I hope that is just a little bit of encouragement for you to want to play along with the challenges. I am sure you will be amazed at yourself
Now what is a New Year and a New Challenge without something special to go along with it hey! I have a special gift lined up for the best entry for this weeks Challenge.
We are starting the Year off with a Sketch I have created. I have used this sketch numerous times, and I think you will enjoy this one:
Here are the creations I have made using this sketch:
For this first card I have used the new A Happy Heart Stamp set from the Summer mini catalog. The colours, are Real red, Regal rose, Pretty in Pink, and Whisper white. I have used red brads, pink gingham ribbon, paper piercing and glitter for embellishment.
Here I have created a scrapbook page using the Crew Boys Scrapbooking kit. I have used Basic grey, Bashful blue, Pumpkin pie, and Whisper white for the colours. Then the embellishments are from the Scrapbooking kit, a Pumpkin marker for the journaling, and some striped pumpkin, and wide bashful blue ribbon as well.
Then very last of all I have created this card using one of the brand new Sale-a-bration Free stamp sets! The colours are Rose red, Sage shadow, Regal rose, and Whisper white. I have two-step stamped the little flowers and leaves, and the greeting stamp is from the Think Happy Thoughts stamp set. I have used a strip of the wide Rose red ribbon tied off at the bottom, along with some Rose red brads and glitter for embellishment.
How do you play?
If you would love to play along with the Sketch Challenge for this week. All you need to do is to make your creation, then upload it to your blog, or public forum (like Splitcoast Stampers) and then add a comment under this post with you name and the link to your project.
Please have your projects linked by 11:59pm on Thursday the 15th January. I will judge the winner, and upload the winning entry here as well as all the links to the other entries on Friday the 16th January.
And a winning prize??!!
Since it is the first Challenge of the year, I would like to get you all excited and ready to play! I have a beautiful tin of Flower Fusion up for grabs for the winning entry. So be sure to play, so you don’t miss the opportunity to win!
If you have any questions or comments, please let me know.
I soooooo totally look forward to seeing your creations!
Happy Stamping!

YAY!!!!!! SHE’S BACK! I think I will have a play with this challenge now!
Well, as you know, I have not one SU item in my stash or home doh!!! (oh sorry I have a black Stazon ink pad rofll) but I will use what i have and make a start on cardmaking.
You obviously had a wonderful time dreaming up challenges and creative wonders for us while away. hehe

Hi Keesh,
Thanks for the challange, it was a challenge for me, I really struggled with it and still am not very happy with what I’ve done but I’m hoping the 3rd card I finish off tonight will be my favourite. Anyway it has been fun to challenge myself and you can find my cards for this challenge at

Hi Makeesha
This is my first attempt at a challenge. Your comments about needing to push your yourself out of the comfort zone of Case-ing others’ work really spoke to me. Here is the link to my effort:

Makeesha -
I so love your work! I love to use sketches, so it’s great to find someone challenging others to use their sketches! Here is my interpretation of your sketch - I used ALL scraps to make these cards! I, too, used Kristina Werner’s colors for these cards as well. Thanks for your inspiration!

This week I thought I would be clever and combine your challenge with Mel’s challenge, thinking that that it would be easy but I was sooo wrong. Don’t think I will do that again.
