Scrap it Saturday # 2

Hey there!

It is turning out to be a busy weekend! All good though……. :) Last minute prep for school on Monday, and today we had a Family Fun Day at the school to celebrate the new year. All the kids had a blast. I was on the official face painting duties…..which whilst a little nerve racking, was really good fun. I can turn a gorgeous face into a mean pirate, or a tiger! And all the girls just love butterflies and love hearts too…….good fun!

Anyway in between that, and going out tonight, I managed to make this wee scrap page for you. I tried to work with the whole Australia day theme but it wasn’t happeneing for me, so ended up doing different colours, and just wrote up a journal about the day on the tag on the page which slides out from under the photo.

Oh and we have our special guest stamper again…….my 9 year old daughter Tiarne!  - she was so excited about all your lovely comments last week, she defintely wanted to play along again today :)

So here is the page I ended up with:

For this page I have worked with Basic black, Rose red, Whisper white, and Basic grey for the cardstock colours. I have used the So swirly jumbo roller for the background on the basic grey cardstock. I have also used the Priceless, Wonderful favourites, and Outline alphabet stamp sets, which are all from Stampin’Up. For embellishment, I have used dazzling diamonds glitter, and black gingham ribbon, and a mat pack and black brads.

Okay so here is Tiarne’s page………Just remember I haven’t helped her one bit, and I have to say I like the greeting she chose to put on there……( too sweet!)

Scrap page made by Tiarne……

Don’t you just love the 3 brads she has on the left hand side? It seems that they do pick up what you do! And it is great time together………stamping that is.

So today I finally managed to pick up the 4th book in the Twilight series………I have been stalking the guy at the book store! He sees me coming and just shakes his head……..NO! AHHHH it is has been almost torture waiting for it to come back into stock! They were out of print and no book store Australia wide had them! Aparently I was not the only one hunting it down! So Kristy you won’t need to send me your copy now, but it was so sweet of you to offer!!!

Right better head to bed before Hubby pulls the plug! Oh and if you don’t see me much this week…you know why….that book is over 800 pages long, and apprently the best in the series, so I will be sure to have my nose in it all week………good thing the kids are back at school hey? or they may get neglected! LOL!

Have a good rest of the weekend everyone!

Inkspirations Sketch Challenge # 4

 Hey again!

I have had so much fun making my samples for this challenge today! Hopefully you like them too.

This week we are going to work with another sketch……these are fun and one of my favourite challenges.

So here is your sketch to work with:

And here is what I have created using the sketch:

I have been really hanging out to do some watercolouring lately, but just haven’t had the chance, so I really enjoyed making this card!

I have used the For Father stamp set from Stampin’Up, and watercoloured it with my aquapainter, and stamp pads. I also used the Sanded background with Chocolate ink onto Mustard cardstock. I added some twine, and jumbo eyelets for the embellishment.

I enjoyed the watercolouring so much, I had to keep going!

So I made this card using the Embrace life stamp set. The colours are Regal rose, Certainly celery, and Pretty in pink. I have used the Fine lace background stamp, onto the base cardstock with Regal rose ink. Next I scalloped edge punched the celery cardstock. I embellished with some glitter, white half pearls, and some Regal rose wide grosgrain ribbon.

Then lastly I made a scrapbook page:

This is a very simple page today.

I have used Blue bayou, So saffron and Soft sky for the cardstock colours. The base is rolled with the rough texture jumbo roller and bayou ink and I stamped some random star as well. I have paper pierced around the square of soft sky cardstock and tucked in two pieces of soft sky ribbon. Next I spiral punched the left hand edge of the cardstock, and finally added a strip of bayou cardstock with a row of saffron brads, and 3 stamped stars at the bottom which are from the In the stars stamp set from Stampin’Up.

So there you have my samples! I hope you have fun with this challenge and I really look forward to seeing your creations!

I will be back tommorrow to give you my scrapbook page :)

Inkspirations Inspiration Challenge 3 winner…..

Published by Makeesha under Cards, Inspiration Challenge

Whoa that is quite the title!

Okay so I have had fun viewing all the entries this morning! It worked out quite well doing it is one session, so I may do that again!

I have once again found it hard to pick a winner, but I have to right? Anyway I really liked this card the second I saw it……..rather different, but I love how the flowers really dominate the card, which is exactly what happens in the Inspiration image.

Congratulations Marelle Taylor on a winning with this beautiful card! Be sure to go and check out Marelle’s other work too, as it is always beautiful!

Now again I have another favourite:

This card is gorgeous too, isn’t it! It has been made by Tracey Old from New Zealand! I LOVE all that glitter, and the 3 half pearls in the centre are just delightful!

Well that is it for this week apart from the Slide show! Once again thanks to everyone who played along, and I will be back in just a sec to give you the NEW Challenge for this week!

Mojolicious # 71

Published by Makeesha under Cards, Sketch Challenges

 Hey there!

WOW, you guys have blown me away with your excitement about Ustamp!!! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, for all your wonderful comments, of Congratulations and encouragement!

I normally try to reply to all my comments and started to for this, but I really just can’t get to everyone….sorry! So it will just have to be a big group, THANK YOU!

I am excited about it to, and have been working on working out my projects for it, which I think will be fun.

It is finally the last week of school holidays here. I have loved the holidays, but to be honest I am starting to hanker after some routine! And I think the kids are too. They are just starting to get a bit edgy, and need some routine. So we are all organized, uniforms are washed, shoes bought, and school gear all packed and ready.

I had hoped to have stamped more this week, but it just seems that each day flies, and I run out of time! So hopefully when routine strikes, I will get some more stamping done as well.

But I have mangaged to whip up this creation up for Mojo Monday #71, which is a fabulous sketch!

Here is the sketch for this week:

And here is my creation:

Okay here I have used one of my current fave colour combo’s…..Purely Pomegranite, Pumpkin pie, Pretty in pink, and Regal rose. The papers are from Stampin’Up’s Bali breeze, and Spring break paper packs. I have used the Big Bold birthday stamp set from Stampin’Up. Then for embellishment, I have used the pink chunky glitter, pink taffeta ribbon, mat pack for paper piercing, and a pumpkin rhinestone brad.

Thanks Mojo Monday for a great sketch! I loved this one, and will be using it again!

Tommorrow will be an exciting day as I will be picking the winner of the Ustamp free entry using Random.org, and I will also be announcing the winning entry for the challenge and giving you a new one! I haven’t seen the entries this week yet. I thought this time rather than spending an hour or two everday checking them out, I would see if it is easier to do it all in one…….. so if you are wondering why I haven’t given you some comment love yet…..that is why :) But I am really looking foreward to seeing them of course!

Take care!
