Make it Monday # 22

Hi again!

Well like i thought might happen………I ran out of time yesterday! Sorry about that. Everything seems to be happening this week, with the kids school finishing concerts and what not, then just prepping for Christmas, well I am sure you are all feeling the same. They don’t call it the silly season for no reason!

So here you have the Make it Monday for this week :)

Choc top Boxes

Materials required:

  • Paper trimmer
  • Wide ribbon
  • Scallop edge punch
  • A4 cardstock (1)
  • Adhesive
  • 12 x 12 DS paper
  • A4 sheet of Acetate
  • Stamps
  • Stamp pad
  • Hole punch
  • Twine / Cord

Step 1:

Take your sheet of Acetate, and score in at 7cm’s along the short side. Then you will want to score another 7cm’s from the past score line and again, and again. You will have 4 score lines, and end up with a small bit left at the end.

Step 2:

On the little bit left at the end add some tape and fold the acetate up on all the score lines, so that it makes a square box, open at each end.

Step 3:

Cut two pieces of cardstock 11cm’s by 11cm’s

Step 4:

Score those squares at 2cm’s in on every side of the square. You will do this for both pieces of cardstock.

Step 5:

Make up the two scored pieces of cardstock, into two little box bases.

Step 6:

Cut two strips of 12 x 12 DS paper at 1.5 inches wide. Then also a square of paper measuring 7cm x 7cm’s

Step 7:

Scallop edge punch the two long strips of DS paper on one side only.

Step 8:

Adhere the strips to the base of the boxes with the scallops pointing upwards.

Step 9:

Adhere your square of DS paper to the top side of one of the boxes.

Step 10:

Now take you piece of Acetate and add some tape to the bottom side of one end of the square tube.

Step 11:

Take the base that doesn’t have the Square DS paper on it and then place that square acetate tube into the base of the box.

Step 12:

Pop the top on which is the one with the Square of DS paper on top, then wrap with a wide ribbon, and add a tag to suit the occasions and DS papers.

Final product:

Here I have filled the box with Cadbury Favourites, but you could fill the box with whatever you like.

I hope to make these for the kids teachers thank you gifts this week……I really can’t believe that the year is over! Anyway they are super easy, and I think they are rather cute.

I hope to be back later today with more goss on the stamp camp!

Take care!

Okay so who is ready for a new challenge? This will be open until Monday the 15th of December, and will be the last challenge of the year. Due to everyone being so busy during this time of year, I thought it best to give you a break, and myself as well!

So here is your Inspiration challenge for this week!

The inspiration image is these gorgous cushions! This image comes from www.adairs.com

I created this card a little while ago, but I think it suit the inspiration image. AND if I get some time this week I hope to whip out another one for you :)

I have used the Baroque Motifs stamp set, onto Basic black cardstock with Whisper white ink. I have added the Cherish rub-on which is from the Cherished memories pack. I have then added some white half pearls, and glitter on the centre stamped image.

If you would like to play along with this Inspiration challenge……Make your project inspired by the above image, then upload it to your blog / website, or a public forum and come back and add a link in the comments section under this post. You have until 11;59pm on Monday the 15th of December to have your entry in.

Okay so I am about to go and finish working on editing the make it monday for this week……I am still so tired from the big weekend and have a class tonight, so hopefully I can get it all fitted in, and if not, it will be up first thing tommorrow!

Have a good night!

Request for patience!!!

 Hey There,

I have to start with an apology!!! I have had every intention of posting the Challenge winner, and then new one this afternoon, but my week has been nuts, and I am about to fly out the door for the Stamping Retreat!

Actually I haven’t packed yet, and I am meant to be gone in 10 minutes to pick Monnie Moo up from the train station on the way…eeek! Thanks to hubby who is down stairs cutting and packaging the Rocky road, I have made for everyone! I am on the games duty, and I have some fun things planned. I will be sure to show you some photos when I get back!

So I will be back on Saturday night…..,.and will hope to load up the new challenge then. So consider yourself lucky with an extra day to play along :)

Also thanks to you for your postive response to my new venture!! I am so happy to hear from you!

If you haven’t heard from me already, then I promise to be in touch as soon as I get back.

Till then, have a wonderful weekend!
