Make it Monday # 20…..!!!

Hooley Dooley, can you believe that we are up to number 20! I most certainly can’t! In all honesty I am suprised that I have managed to come up with things each week, and I still have a list I have written out, so thankfully there will be some more MIM’s to come.

So for this week I have put together a cute little slider card / gift card holder. I had one of my gorgeous clients  (Marisha) give me a cute little love note slider the other day, and I just thought it was super cute. So I have changed to a gift card holder, but you really could use it for whatever you like, ie money, teabags, just a card etc……

Slider cards / gift card holders

Materials required:

  • Paper trimmer
  • Bone scorer
  • Slot punch
  • 1 ¼ circle punch
  • Stamp pads
  • Stamps
  • DS paper
  • Ribbon
  • Cardstock

 Step 1:

Cut your cardstock to measure 4 inches wide, by 8.5 inches long.

Step 2:

Score your cardstock at 4 inches, and then 4 inches again. You should end up with a half inch of cardstock at the end.

It should look like this below.

Step 3:

At the little end strip, add some tape and put it together.. You will have a little pocket like this, open at each end.

Step 4:

Take your slot punch and go in as far as possible, at one of the open ends of the pocket and punch.

Step 5:

Then take the 1 ¼ circle punch and punch a half circle, just below where you have done the slot punch.

It will look like this:

Step 6:

Decorate the front with co-ordinating DS paper, and stamps.

Step 7:

Make a card that measures just under the 4 x 4 inch, so that it will fit into the pocket. Here I have used the co-ordinating stamps, and DS papers.

Step 8:

Then on the inside I created a panel to write a message, and a pocket to place a gift card. If you didn’t want the gift card you could just leave it as a card, or put in a teabags etc…..

Step 9:

Take a long piece of co-ordinating ribbon and wrap it around the centre of the card, having the tails at the side the card opens

Step 10:

Slip the card with ribbon into the pocket at the side where the punches are.

Step 11:

When the card is in place, slip the tails of the ribbon, up under and through the slot punches.

Step 12:

Tie the two ends of the ribbon together.

Step 13:

As you pull the ribbon your card will slide out of the pocket

Final product:

Here I have used the Wintergreen DS papers, and Artichoke, and soft sky cardstock and ribbon.

Other samples:

For this one I used the Ginger blossoms DS papers, and the Embrace life stamp set, ruby red, and Groovy guava cardstock and moss ribbon.

And the Spring break DS papers, with Blue bayou, Pumpkin pie, and Soft sky cardstock.

So there you have number 20…… i hope you like it!

Have a great week!

Love Keesh
