Now for the this weeks Challenge…….hmm time for some colour!!!

And here are my samples for you :

Here I have used the One of a kind stamp set from Stampin’Up, and used my markers to ink it up. The papers are from the Afternoon Tea DS paper pack. I have paper pierced and added wide Chocolate grosgrain ribbon, and antique brass brads.

And a little scrap page…… i really hate scrapping myself for on my blog! But today I was stuck for a photo and since the colours are fairly femenine I only really had this one. Ah well.

So I have used again some Afternoon Tea papers, the guava, and soft sky double stitched ribbon, as well as I have coloured up the flower with my guava re-inker, and blinged it with some glitter. The background is the Tres Chic background stamp.

Then last of all I made this very quick card…..which I think is a little boring to be honest! Ah well. I have used the True friend and short and sweet stamp sets. I added paper piercing, antique brass brads, soft sky double stitched ribbon for embellishment.

So there you have it…..this weeks challenge. I really hope you can play along this week, and I really look forward to seeing your creations!

I have a mammoth weekend ahead of me with the big Hostess Appreciation Day tommorrow, and finalizing a new project for Monday that I am super excited to share with you……so stayed tuned, I will be back soon.

Oh and have a  great weekend too!

Kristina’s Colour Challenge for this week…..

Published by Makeesha under Cards

 Hey There!

So I have managed to finally whip this up for this week…..I was struggling today to find any source of MoJo, but I think it all has to do with being so busy putting things together for my big Hostess Appreciation Day this Saturday! I have lots of fun things planned, but of course can’t share them with you yet!

Anyway here is the Colour Challenge for this week…..hmm getting us into the upcoming season!

Beautiful colours!

So I have made a square card with Real red cardstock. I have used the Baroque Motifs stamp set with Real red ink.  I added a strip of Red DS paper from the Summer picinic pack and a nice silver bow of wide organdy ribbon. I have stamped the cirlcle flower stamp, embossed it with Silver, and then rolled over it with my brayer and real red ink. I placed a rhinestone brad in the centre, and popped it up with dimensionals.

So there you have the quick version of this weeks challenge!

Take care

Just a quick Inspiration challenge

 Hey there,

I have promised myself to get to bed early tonight! I have been slipping back into the staying up way too late at night, and then getting up at 5:30am just is not enough sleep!

Okay so I have managed to quickly whip up a card for Beate’s Inspiration challenge from last week……just before she loads up the next one tommorrow.

Now the Inpsiration image was quite different!…you will see why……

So what to do with that one???? I had to think about it for a little while, but ended up coming up with this:

Now since it was a childs room, I thought I would stick with that type of theme. I have started with Soft sky for the base, and cut the cardstock into a 12 cm square card. I layered the top with some watercolour paper to match what I used for the image. And then along the bottom I have used some Pumpkin pie prints DS paper. I have then double paper pierced a border around them all.

I used some Soft sky double stitched ribbon through the centre, and tied off a greeting, which had been punched out with my circle punches and tied up with some twine.

Next I stamped the little teddy bear from the Bundle of Joy stamp set with my Stazon ink pad into watercolour paper. I have watercoloured the image with my aquapainter, and ink pads (caramel, cocoa, and choc chip), and double mounted it onto some Close to cocoa cardstock.

Then last of all I added the 3 antique brass brads mounted above little punched circle of Cocoa cardstock.

I struggled with not adding more onto this card, but the image is fairly blank in places, and thought I probably be best to leave it alone.

Right off to bed, where I really need to be!

Take care!

Make it Monday # 20…..!!!

Hooley Dooley, can you believe that we are up to number 20! I most certainly can’t! In all honesty I am suprised that I have managed to come up with things each week, and I still have a list I have written out, so thankfully there will be some more MIM’s to come.

So for this week I have put together a cute little slider card / gift card holder. I had one of my gorgeous clients  (Marisha) give me a cute little love note slider the other day, and I just thought it was super cute. So I have changed to a gift card holder, but you really could use it for whatever you like, ie money, teabags, just a card etc……

Slider cards / gift card holders

Materials required:

  • Paper trimmer
  • Bone scorer
  • Slot punch
  • 1 ¼ circle punch
  • Stamp pads
  • Stamps
  • DS paper
  • Ribbon
  • Cardstock

 Step 1:

Cut your cardstock to measure 4 inches wide, by 8.5 inches long.

Step 2:

Score your cardstock at 4 inches, and then 4 inches again. You should end up with a half inch of cardstock at the end.

It should look like this below.

Step 3:

At the little end strip, add some tape and put it together.. You will have a little pocket like this, open at each end.

Step 4:

Take your slot punch and go in as far as possible, at one of the open ends of the pocket and punch.

Step 5:

Then take the 1 ¼ circle punch and punch a half circle, just below where you have done the slot punch.

It will look like this:

Step 6:

Decorate the front with co-ordinating DS paper, and stamps.

Step 7:

Make a card that measures just under the 4 x 4 inch, so that it will fit into the pocket. Here I have used the co-ordinating stamps, and DS papers.

Step 8:

Then on the inside I created a panel to write a message, and a pocket to place a gift card. If you didn’t want the gift card you could just leave it as a card, or put in a teabags etc…..

Step 9:

Take a long piece of co-ordinating ribbon and wrap it around the centre of the card, having the tails at the side the card opens

Step 10:

Slip the card with ribbon into the pocket at the side where the punches are.

Step 11:

When the card is in place, slip the tails of the ribbon, up under and through the slot punches.

Step 12:

Tie the two ends of the ribbon together.

Step 13:

As you pull the ribbon your card will slide out of the pocket

Final product:

Here I have used the Wintergreen DS papers, and Artichoke, and soft sky cardstock and ribbon.

Other samples:

For this one I used the Ginger blossoms DS papers, and the Embrace life stamp set, ruby red, and Groovy guava cardstock and moss ribbon.

And the Spring break DS papers, with Blue bayou, Pumpkin pie, and Soft sky cardstock.

So there you have number 20…… i hope you like it!

Have a great week!

Headed to the USA!

 hey  there!

I have been busy this week putting together a box of goodies for my brother’s girlfriend to send to her.

My brother Bryn, has only recently returned from being away travelling the world for 19 months, and working in London. You can imagine how jelous I am of that! Anyway along his travels he met a gorgeous American girl in Greece. They hit is off, and caught back up in Germany for the Oktober fest a month later, and she followed him back to London and they have been together ever since.

When Bryn came back to Australia at the end of August, they parted ways as she was due back at College in Maryland, which is where she is from, to start her next round of courses.

Now Kate will be finishing for Christmas break in December, and is coming down to Australia to spend 7 weeks with us! We all can’t wait to meet her in person. She emails me regularly and we have chatted a couple of times on the phone, so I am sure we will all get along really well. hmmm I am actually envisioning all the girly things we can do together, and Bryn will have to share her with me!!!

Here is a little picture of them together in Greece this past August:

See you can tell she is American……look at those white sparkly teeth! LOL!

Anyway back to the parcel……. I have bought a bunch of fun stuff, but also put together a little album of us all as well.

Here is the box all packed up….

And here are all the goodies I packed into it.

1. Tim Tams……Aussies most love biscuits!

2. A hat…..because it is so hot here in summer!

3. Deodorant…..because when it is hot, you sweat!

4. Vegemite….because us Aussies were brought up on the stuff!

5. Cadbury chocolate……because we all love it especially me!

5. Suncream….because the ozone layer is thin here, and we burn like mad!

6. Aussie Slang Dictionary……so she knows what we are talking / saying!

7. Aeroguard….because the mozzie’s go mad in summer!

8. Perth book…..a cute little book about Perth with photos so she knows where she is coming!

9. Inflattable neck pillow that has the Aussie flag on it…… so she can use it in the plane on the long flight over!

10. A mini scrapbook album, of Bryn’s family with pictures and details about each of us, so that she feels that she knows us a little before she gets here!

It all fits perfectly into the box, and i really hope it makes her feel welcome here.

Now for the album, I will show you the pages in order, but I am not going to give you all the product details as I will be here forever otherwise, and I just don’t have the patience for that at the moment!

So I made the front cover to look like the Australia flag….yes I know there is one tiny star missing! I don’t have a punch and I tried several times to create one on my own with paper and scissors, but it wasn’t happening so gave up….Yes i think it looks okay, and similar anyway.

Front cover

Inside cover

Mum and Dad…..the little tags pull out with details about each of them.

My hubby Rod…

Moi…

My oldest daughter Tiarne…

My oldest son Elijah….

My other little man, Malakai…

And our baby girl (3) Janaya…

Well I will be off to the post office first thing tommorrow morning to get this parcel on its way to the USA! Hmmm wonder if I can load Kate’s luggage with goodies from the USA…..Like Reeces Peanut butter cups!!! YUMMMO!!! It is a good thing they don’t sell them here or I would be in very big trouble!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend….whats left of it anyway!
