Make it Monday # 14 - Love Note Gift Boxes
Okay so you are wondering where I have been right? Well umm….I could tell ya what Iv’e been up to, but you will think it is all sorts of excuses! So let’s just say things have been hectic, and I have been a little stress ball. When that happens, other things get left……..like umm the Make it monday upload! LOL!
Well with out a further aidou here it is for this week:
Materials required:
Paper cutter, Bone scorer, Ribbon, Crop-a-dile, 12 x 12 cardstock, stamps, Love notes with envelopes, Pretties kit, pencil, stamps / stamp pads, 12 x 12 DS paper
Step 1:
Score your 12 x 12 cardstock 10cm’s in on every side, so that make 4 score lines
It should look like this when you are finished
Step 2:
Cut the four corners out being sure to cut along the scored lines
Step 3:
Make a little pencil mark at 4 cm’s up from the base square on each side (so 8 times)
Step 4:
Adjust your Crop-a-dile so that the hole punch will be at 1.5cm’s from the edge
Step 5:
Punch the holes in at the pencil mark on every side
When you are done, it will look like this
Step 6:
Fold up the sides along the score lines.
Step 7:
Cut two good lengths of ribbon that will go around two sides of the box plus extra for tying them
Step 8:
Start to thread the ribbon, starting from the outside hole and weave out at the next hole. Do this through all the holes on the two sides, and then again of the other two sides.
It should look like this on the inside of the two sides
Step 9:
Tie the two adjoining ribbons together at the corner, and the same on the other side of the box
Step 10:
Take your piece of DS paper and cut it down to a 20cm x 20cm square
Step 11:
Score along the four edges 4.5 cm’s in from the edge
Step 12:
Fold up the sides and make it into a box lid
Step 13:
Decorate the top of your lid withe Pretties kit. I also lined the Love Note envelopes with the leftover DS paper. I didn’t quite get the love notes made for this box, but here I did on the following ones:
See how the Love Notes and Envelopes fit in under the ribbon
The box complete. I used the Secret Garden Scrapbooking kit to make this box and Love Notes.
This one I have made using the Summer Picnic DS papers, and the Tart and Tangy stamp set.
For the top of this box I used the Die-Cut blooms from the Spring mini catalogue.
AH big *SIGH* that is finally done for you all, and a just one extra thing of my ever growing “to-do” list! I am about to head out to Swimming lessons with the kids, but I will be back this afternoon, I promise!
Take care

These boxes are gorgeous. I’m in the process of making a set of love notes for my cousin who just had a baby. I wasn’t sure how to package them, but your box is perfect. Thanks for sharing.
