Another Sketch challenge from the fabulous Amy Rysavy!

Published by Makeesha at 2:00 am under Cards, Scrapbooking

I am SOOOO lovin the school holidays! It has been great to spend time with the kids, and to see the sun come out. Having the sunshine out, really makes us look forward to summer. I worked with the kids to clean out their cupboard, put their winter clothes aside. We made a list of what we needed for summer, and headed out shopping yesterday! It was great fun, but i was knackered after shopping with 4 kids in tow for a couple of hours! It feels really good to know that we are prepped and ready for summer…….now to just get my butt in shape….*SIGH*

I had so much fun with Amy’s sketch last week, I just had to play along againg this week.!

FUN indeed…..I roooooly liked this one too. Amy’s work is just beautiful and you can see more of it at www.prairiepaperandinktypepad.com

Okay so for this week, we had to use the following sketch:

Cool hey!

So here goes for what I came up with :

It’s starting to look a lot like Christmas…….hmm I am going to have that in my head all day now! LOL! I really struggle with Christmas card……being really honest here. So I have been trying to make sure I do use a  Stampin’Up crissy set each time I stamp, so that I get into mood! Here I have used Soft sky for the base which I stamped with the Tres Chic background stamp with Soft sky ink. I then added the two different strips of DS paper from Stampin’Up’s Wintergreen  paper pack. These papers are gorgous! I stamped the tree with Always artichoke ink, and cut it out, then mounted it with dimensionals. I have then added the artichoke grosgrain ribbon, with some styled silver hodgepodge attached. With the greeting I actually punched out the large oval at the bottom of the card, and then added the greeting to the inside of the card so that it has a peek-a-boo look. Lasly I added the two brads at the top.

Too much fun, I just had to keep going!

Next I went with a masciline card using Stampin’Up’s Seatworthy stamp set. I used Blue bayou for the base which I stamped with the Sanded background stamp. The paper strips are from Stampi’Up’s Spring break paper pack. Again I added some hodgepodge to the pumpkin pie grosgrain ribbon, adding another piece of olive ribbon at the top. I have stamped the surfer with Blue bayou ink, and then also stamped him again onto some watercolur paper, coloured him with my aquapainter, cut him out and mounted him with my dimensionals. I then added the birthday greeting from Stampin’Up’s It’s Your Birthday stamp set.

Now I just had to scrapbook this sketch too. because it works, and whilst i am not a Bold brights kind of gal, I totally LOVE how this page turned out. Probably that adorable face of Mali’s made a big difference too!

See what I mean…..aint that the cutes little face you eva seen??? I know I am biased, but this picture sums up Mali to a tee! Okay so some deets on the page…… I have used Wild wasabi for the base which I have stamped with my dots from the Itty Bitty stamp set, with a versamark stamp pad. I added the little bit of spiral punch to the top right had corner. I have used Stampin’Up’s Jersey Shore paper pack to get the different strip of paper. I then mounted the photo onto Pumpkin pie cardstock which I slipped some striped pumpking ribbon under and stapled. I have then lastly added the greeting from Stampin’Up’s Always stamp set, and some Brilliant blue brads, and the Wild wasabi double stitched ribbon.

Be back again soon!

I love how you popped up the surfer on dimensionals, looks fantastic! Now, if only I had that set….might get it after we get our Canadian bums onto a surfboard this summer. That will be a moment worth scrapbooking!
