Prairie paper & Ink Sketch Challenge
Hey again,
Prairie paper & Ink is the beuatiful website of the very talented and famous Amy Rysavy http://prairiepaperandink.typepad.com/amyr/ I have stalked her blog for a couple of years now, always too shy to say hello, and never organized enough to participate in her sketches….BUT
This week I did manage it……well there is a first! I loved this sketch so much that I made a couple of things with it, and I really don’t feel that I have exhausted it, so I will definitely be using this sketch again for sure!
Here is Amy’s Sketch:

And here are my creations:
Okay so first I worked with a Christmas card. This one is in the traditional Christmas colours, nice and bright. I have used Real red cardstock for the base which I stamped some swirls on the backgroud. I then added a long strip of the Dashing DS paper. I stamped the square word stamp from the Season of Joy stamp set, and have done it in two different colours, and then cut some of the red elements out, added glitter, and mounted them with dimensionals to make them features. I then stamped the little flower, blinged it with glitter and mounted that at the corner. Lastly I added the ribbon, and greeting to finish it off.
Next I went with a more formal style/ I have used Artichoke cardstock for the base, in which I stamped the Brocade basics stamp with my versmark pad. I then added the long strip of DS paper from the LeJardin paper pack. I have stamped the little background flowers with my Carte Postale stamp set, which I mounted the colour with my markers. Then the larger flower is from the Brocade basics stamp set, which I stamped, cut out and mounted with dimansionals. I have lastly added the wide vanilla grosgrain ribbon, brad, and antique brass hodgepodge hardware with a greeting from the Carte Postale stamp set.
And then last of all I used the sketch for a scrapbook page. I used Chocolate chip for the base which I have rolled with my jumbo Bodacious roller with Versamark ink. I then added some spotted Certainly celery DS paper from the Spring fling paper pack. Next I added the Regal rose cardstock which I have mounted the photo onto, also adding two strips of wide grosgrain ribbon in celery and chocolate. I stamped up the large flower from the Bodacious bouquet stamp set, adding some glitter and brads for detail. Finally I added the styled silver hodgepodge hardware in which the greeting is from the Beautiful life stamp set which I stamped with chocolate chip ink.
Well that is it. I love this sketch and thanks to Amy for providing it!. Hmmmm wonder if I can do some more!
Update on the holidays is that it is going really well so far. The kids have been great, and I have been very relaxed which is great! Today we are going to clean out the wardrobes and work out what we need for the upcoming summer, and plan a little shopping trip for next week…..all is good
