Make it Monday # 7!

Published by Makeesha at 1:09 pm under Make it Monday, Tutorials, Wine Gift Bag

Well I told you I will be back soon :)

So I am going to get straight into what I intended to do…..Make it Monday # 7, which is a Wine gift bag. I know you can pick these up at the Newsagent, but thought it would be great to make one with Stampin’Up products of course. I have worked out this template by myself and will try to explain it well for you……..with Father’s Day just around the corner you can whip one of these up if he loves wine etc….!

Materials Required:

img_1453-custom.JPG

Paper cutter

Wine….of course!

Crop-a-dile

DS paper

Ribbon

Bone scorer

Slip punch

Paper piercer

Step 1:

img_1454-custom.JPG

Cut your 12 x 12 Sheets of textured cardstock at 18cm’s wide (both of them)

Step 2:

img_1455-custom.JPG

Okay now you will need to score your texturd cardstock. Do the first score line at 8.25 cm’s in from one edge, then another pne 8.25 cm’s from the scored line. You should end up with about 1.5cm remaining as a strip on the side.

Step 3:

img_1456-custom.JPG

Fold up all the edges on the scored lines

Step 4:

img_1457-custom.JPG

Now you need to cut two lots of strips of DS paper. One set of two will be 5 cm x 15cm wide, and then the other two strips you will want to cut at 8cm x 15cm’s wide.

Step 5:

img_1458-custom.JPG

Take two 15cm long strips of cardstock and use your Slit punch to create a scalloped edge to both of them

Step 6:

Paper pierce a hole into the centre of each scallop

Step 7:

img_1460-custom.JPG

Okay so now you will want to put these pieces together. Layer the wider piece of DS paper onto the smaller one, then add a strip of ribbon over the join. Along the bottom you will want to add your scalloped strip. Do this for both.

Step 8:

Now add that square of paper to the textured cardstock and fold along the scored lines also.

Step 9:

img_1462-custom.JPG

Then take some of the carsboard that is in the packs of DS paper that you buy off Stampin’Up. It has a higher GSM, and will then be strong enought to hold the weight of the wine bottle.

Step 10:

img_1463-custom.JPG

Cut the cardboard to be a 12cm x 12cm square. Then score each edge at 2cm’s in.

Step 11:

img_1464-custom.JPG

Then cut the little corners and fold up to create this little box base.

Step 12:

img_1465-custom.JPG

Take your pieces of Textured long cardstock and tape it up. Then carefully attach it to the square base. The excess 1.5cm edges along the long sides should tuck into the inside of each other so that you make a long rectangle tube that adheres to the base.

Step 13:

Add some Jumbo eyelets to the top of you bag, and then add some ribbon (knotted on the inside) as your handles. Lasly add your wine, or bottle of something…… and give away.

Another Sample:

With this one I have used Always Artichoke cardstock and the Apple Cider DS paper.

What a great idea for Father’s day gift…….since that is just around the corner!!! Now to work out what to get Rod….hmm maybe a new Kettle…LOL!

Hope you have fun with this one, and please show me what you have made!

so you dont drink the wine first??? It would make the bottle lighter in the bag ;) Awesome project - thanks for sharing Keesh!

Wow Makeesha, I love this idea and I love your tutorials!!! I recently commented on my blog that I don’t know how you do it with 4 kids, running a household and managing to find time to post AND do tutorials!!! I need to know your secrets because I must be doing something wrong! I have 4 kids aswell and I can’t find the top of my washing pile, let alone getting anything else done. You’re amazing!
    Dan.
