I had heaps of fun with this Beate’s Weekend Sketch Challenge. I also added another challenge to it…….I had to use stamp sets that I haven’t touched for over 6 months. It is so easy to go back to your new fav’s all the time, but I thought why not use something that needed the dust shaken off! I am acutally quite suprised that they are just as good as they used to be! (not that, that make sense!)

This is Beate’s sketch….

This was my first card. I have used Close to Cocoa cardstock as the base which I stamped the little swirls from the Sweet Shapes stamp set with Chocolate chip ink. Then I added a strip of textured soft sky cardstock which I stamped the little dots on. Adding another strip if DS paper that I also drew some little squiggles ( is that even a word?) I have stamped the shape and swirls and the little blossom on the background and then two butterflies one in pretty in pink and the other soft sky and two step stamped them with Close to cocoa ink for the outline. Lastly adding some dazzling diamonds glitter to them, cutting them out and mounting them with dimensionals. I punched out a couple of small oval punches and double mounted them and added a rhinstone brad to make the little brackets on the right hand side. Lastly adding the greeting hello from the same stamp set.

Ahhhh… the lovely Natural Beuty stamp set…… gotta love that one. I used River rock textured cardstock for the base, then adding a strip of DS paper from the LeJardin paper pack. I have also added a strip of Chocolate chip textured cardstock that I paper pierced and distressed around the edges. Then I stamped the little bird up on watercolour paper with my Stazon ink pad. I have watercoloured it using my aquapainter and stamp pads. I distressed the edges and did a couple of stamps with the Itty bitty backgrounds stamp set to get the mottled look. Lastly I added some Artichoke grosgrain ribbon with a piece of hodgepodge hardware and the word ‘HOPE’ to the Chocolate chip strip.

OHHHH Like it a Latte…..what a fun set! I fell in love with this one when it came out of the Spring mini last year. Great to see it make it to the new big catty this year! I have used Chocolate chip, Close to cocoa, and Pretty in pink cardstock. Really I just stamped the different stamps all with Chocolate ink, then blinged it up with some pretty in pink taffeta ribbon, buttons, and dazzling diamonds glitter.

The last card I made was with the Simply said stamp set. Not too sure if I actually like this card….hmmm well it is my least fav of the four of them. I used Perfect plum, Sage shadow, and Pale plum cardstock, with a strip of DS paper from the Spring Fling pack. The base is stamped with the Linen background with the perfect plum ink. I also masked the heart and then stamped with the linen background stamp on the the whisper white cardstock. The floral heart I stamped onto pale plum cardstock and coloured the flowers in with my white gel pen. Lastly adding some Eggplant grosgrain ribbon, sage shadow eyelets, and some detail with my white gel pen.
Okay now for some scrap pages……. see this sketch is FABULOUS!!!

I totally LOVE how this page turned out! Probably because the photo means so much to me and really resonates the absolute ball Louise and I had together at Convention!!!! Good memories for sure!
I have started with a Basic Grey cardstock that I stamped with some random shapes from the Polka dots and petals stamp set. I created the scallop edge with my slit punch on pretty in pink cardstock. Then I used a wide strip of the Rose red prints DS paper pack. I double mounted the next strip with Basic grey and Pretty in pink which I dazzled up with the two-way glue pen and dazzling diamonds glitter. I cut out two of the flowers from the paper and mounted them together and placed a a rhinstone brad in the centre. Lastly adding the greeting with my black stampin’write journaler.

Here is a little funky scrap page of my dear friend Monique (aka……..Monnie Moo) I would NEVER EVER use Brilliant blue because it is my least favourite colour along side Summer sun……(too many memories of a royal blue school uniform from a private school!!!!) Anyway since Monnie moo, is wearing that funky shirt I have taken the colours from that. Real red, Brilliant blue, Basic grey , and Basic black cardstock I punched out with my 1 1/4 square punch. I added the second layer strip which is plain basic grey with 3 buttons attached. Lastly I added the photo of Monique and her name with my black stampin’write journaler. The base of Real red cardstock I also stamped with the Background sampler stamp set with Real red ink.
Well that was great fun. I hope I have inspired you with this sketch………see it is easy…..go and give it a go yourself
