Kristina’s Colour Challenge….#12

Published by Makeesha at 7:51 am under Cards

I hadn’t even realized that Kristina had loaded up the next challenge, until I was having a lovely chat with Chantelle this morning. She had already made a design and everything!!!

Well I have managed to sneek in a quick hour at my stamping desk this afternoon, to have a little go at this challenge. At first glance I wasn’t too keen on the colours but they acutally work okay together.

This is the Colour challenge….Whisper white, Wild Wasabi, So Saffron, and Sahara sand…

I have made two similar cards, and since I haven’t given you any more Garden Whimsy samples this week, I used that set. I have used Wasabi as the base which I stamped with the linen background with Wasabi ink. I have also used the Spiral punch down the bottom right hand side. Then I used a piece of So saffron cardstock that I stamped the Define your life stamp set on and some paper piercing at the bottom. Also adding some Wild wasabi double stitched ribbon. I have also used some DS paper from an old pack of SU paper from the spring mini (can’t remember it’s name) and a saffron brad. Lastly I rock and rolled the large butterfly from Garden whimsy and cut it out and moutned it with dimensionals.

This second card is a bit random! I am not too sure if I like it as it is a bit all over the place, but you never know someone out there might like it??

I used Sahara sand as the base. At the bottom I have used a strip of Wild wasabi cardstock which I have also added a row of little punched out circles that I mounted with mini glue dots. I again have used some of that DS paper from the pack which I have no idea what it is called and have no energy to go on the hunt for…….let me know if you do know ok :)

I then have just used some words from the Everday Flexible Phrases, and Wonderful Favourites stamp sets. Blinging it up with some Hodgepodge hardware and paper piercing and speckle roller. Oh and not to mention the rock and rolled butterflies.

Well I have to be short and sweet as I am currently babysitting a friends little girl and have guests about to arrive for afternoon tea!

Have a good weekend!

Not bad for an hours work. They are both great cards - love the simplicity of the first one but also how you have combined so many elements in the second card and they work well together!! Have a wonderful afternoon.

They are both lovely cards, but I really love the second one! It is a bit random but it works. I also love the buterflies done with the rock and roll technique…I must try that out myself.
