Scrapbook Class….

Published by Makeesha under Scrapbooking

Hi All…….I hope you are all having a good weekend! We have had lots of rain which is great, but it is still really cold, and I am not a fan of cold weather…

Anyway the other night I taught a scrapbooking class and I just wanted to show you the page that I made and then everyone replicated.

I think you may have seen this photo before of my DD Tiarne. I have used my fav DS paper……Berry Bliss…yummo!

The base is Creamy caramel, which I have stamped with the Boho Backgrounds with Choc chip, and caramel stamp pads. I have created the scallops with my slit punch for the vertical strip, and then the horizontal strip I punched out 5, circles with my 1 3/8 circle punch and put them behing the strip of DS paper. I added some double stitched pomegranite ribbon, and then used the Boho backgrounds stamp set to create the little circles added to the bottom left hand side of the photo. I  used the Big Deal Alphabet stamp set to do my title which I then cut out and mounted with dimensionals. And last of all I created the little tag that had the Define your life stamp on it with Pomegranite ink, and a photo corner punch on the photo as well.

Two of the ladies hadn’t ever scrapbooked before and they whipped them up in no time at all! So it was a really easy project and we had a fun night.

Well I really hope to show you a bit more in the coming week….! I kinda lost my Mojo this week and haven’t really stamped much at all…maybe it was the cold I had, but anyway feeling heaps better and hopefully I can log in some hours at the stamping desk!

Take care and enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Don’t nap….or destruction hits!

Published by Makeesha under Chitchat with Keesh

Oh what an afternoon!!!

Remember I mentioned earlier today that I was writing a very quick post because I needed a little nap because I wasn’t feeling the best?

Well the nap I managed, but not without a cost. Darling daughter Janaya who is just 2.5 yrs was nicely playing in the games room whilst I decided to have a little snooze on the couch. Well the little monkey got up to all sorts whilst I was havin that little snooze……

I woke to her completley naked bar a pair of inside-out socks on, and her knickers on back to front, all twisted and giving her a megga wedgie, that I would hate to think of what if felt like….I would show photos, but don’t think it is remotely appropriate or want might get done for child porn. hehe

Anyway she has just begun this new getting undressed and run around the house naked routine, not to mention when we had guests for lunch last Sunday, she decided to pull her pants down and flash her cute little bottom all the whilst saying “bum, bum, bum” much to my absolute dismay not to mention major embarrasment!!!

So I managed to get her showered and dressed, only to quickly pop up stairs to check the emails, and what do I find????

Remeber that cute little choccy bag I made a week or so ago?…..well

img_0540-custom.JPG

This is the state of it now…..notice the choccy’s missing????

The thing about Janaya, is she gets into stuff!!! And I mean it. Out of all four of my little darlings, she manages to find her way into all sorts of trouble………here’s hoping her investigation skills are signs of intelligence…..well we can hope can’t we.

Here’s the cheeky darling herself…how I found her this afternoon, starkers which I find amazing considering it is like 10 degrees today!

Oh the wonderful joys of parenting! At least it can be a little humerous at times :)

SCS Colour Challenge….

Published by Makeesha under Cards, Scrapbooking

Finally got the chance to show you what I put together for the latest colour challenge over at Splitcoast.

Sorry to take a little while to get these up……life has been hectic this week, and we are all battling it out with the winter colds. But that is the season for it!

Okay the Colour challenge was Kraft, Basic black, and Soft sky. I am once again suprised with the initial combo, but also the result! I like it :)

Ps…..because my head is spinning and I really should get to bed for a nap, I will just upload the photos without all the details,  then if you have a specific question just email me.

Splitcoast has revealed this weeks colour challenge too, but I won’t be participating because it is hideous!!! Teal, Wasabi, and White. I have pulled the colours out and sorry I just can’t do it! I don’t know what you could do to make it work, but I am not going to waste my time trying!

Have a good day for the rest,

NO Joke….

Published by Makeesha under Chitchat with Keesh

Hello at last!!!!

Okay I have a little joke for you to start my post tonight……

Q. What do you call a woman who has a crashed computer?

A. there is absolutely no humour in that…….so how can it be a joke!!!!

Yep you guessed it, I had a crashed computer! Talk about being STRESSED out!!! What a relief when my trusty computer man came today to fix it for me!!! Thanks Rob!!

Sorry to everyone who emailed me, and was beginning to think I was rather rude by not replying!

I have to say tho, man you never know how much you rely on this little box of cables, and and buttons, till you aren’t able to get the thing to work. But since I could do no work, I managed to do some stamping!

So hopefully I can get up bright and early tommorrow and upload some things for you to see.

Be Back Soon!

Kristina’s Colour Challenge….#12

Published by Makeesha under Cards

I hadn’t even realized that Kristina had loaded up the next challenge, until I was having a lovely chat with Chantelle this morning. She had already made a design and everything!!!

Well I have managed to sneek in a quick hour at my stamping desk this afternoon, to have a little go at this challenge. At first glance I wasn’t too keen on the colours but they acutally work okay together.

This is the Colour challenge….Whisper white, Wild Wasabi, So Saffron, and Sahara sand…

img_0514-custom.JPG

I have made two similar cards, and since I haven’t given you any more Garden Whimsy samples this week, I used that set. I have used Wasabi as the base which I stamped with the linen background with Wasabi ink. I have also used the Spiral punch down the bottom right hand side. Then I used a piece of So saffron cardstock that I stamped the Define your life stamp set on and some paper piercing at the bottom. Also adding some Wild wasabi double stitched ribbon. I have also used some DS paper from an old pack of SU paper from the spring mini (can’t remember it’s name) and a saffron brad. Lastly I rock and rolled the large butterfly from Garden whimsy and cut it out and moutned it with dimensionals.

img_0510-1-custom.JPG

This second card is a bit random! I am not too sure if I like it as it is a bit all over the place, but you never know someone out there might like it??

I used Sahara sand as the base. At the bottom I have used a strip of Wild wasabi cardstock which I have also added a row of little punched out circles that I mounted with mini glue dots. I again have used some of that DS paper from the pack which I have no idea what it is called and have no energy to go on the hunt for…….let me know if you do know ok :)

I then have just used some words from the Everday Flexible Phrases, and Wonderful Favourites stamp sets. Blinging it up with some Hodgepodge hardware and paper piercing and speckle roller. Oh and not to mention the rock and rolled butterflies.

Well I have to be short and sweet as I am currently babysitting a friends little girl and have guests about to arrive for afternoon tea!

Have a good weekend!
