Hi everyone,
Just wanted to pop in to say sorry you haven’t had anything new for a little while!
My computer was away for some much needed R & R at the repair mans place. And it looks like it was well worth it too…
I have been having many strange happenings on here for a few months, so I am so glad that I have it all fixed now…. But the downside of that is I have 101 emails to reply to!
Well I have been busy stamping and I can’t wait to show you what I have been up to. Off to take some piccies now and hopefully have them uploaded ASAP!
Hope you are all well

Last weekend, like every weekend Beate puts up a sketch challenge. I always look at them, but since I am going a little nuts on the challenges lately ( I am sure you have noticed….hehe), yeah well once again those same thoughts zoomed through my mind……”why not give it a go”
Well that is what I did, and here is the sketch you had to copy

And here is my creation

I finally got to pull out the WANTED stamp set! Been hanging out to do something with it. Well whilst I liked this card, I wasn’t too in love with the sketch so really wasn’t inpsired to make more using it. Maybe next weekend I will!

I have been viewing these challenges that Beate puts together (I have the link to her website on here) anyway I thought I would join in. Amazing to see what some other people have come up with. This one I thought was rather easy so wanted to give it a go to get me in the mode of “being inspired”
This is meant to be the inspiration for your creation:

Well I thought that wasn’t too bad and I quite like the colour combo. Here is my inspired creation

Notice I used the words “simple” from the Life definitions stamp set! That is because this card is so simple it verges on embarassing. BUT having said that I still think that it works. Simple, classic and great colours.
Thanks Beate for the Inspiration…now what you going to inspire us with next hey ??!!

As you know Stampin’Up’s promotion for the month of May is, spend $35 on product and be able to purchase the Palette of Prints for just $12.95.
I thought I would start to work with mine and see where I get. I managed to put together a couple of creations. One great thing about this paper is that it is sooooooo quick and easy to just add to a card and then you have a great strip, or base. I have really enjoyed the versatility of DS paper!

This card is SUPER easy!!! Just 3 different strips of DS paper from the palette of prints and adding some wide ribbon, and paper piercing and that is your base. I then used an aluminium circle to dangle from the ribbon which I stamped with the circle from the Priceless stamp set. It is really simple and yet fresh with the colour combo…too easy!

I made this long card using the fun Unfrogetable stamp set. At the bottom I used the Palette of Prints paper (the diamond print design). Then adding some ribbon and the greeting from the same stamp set. I coloured the frog and flowers with my pastels and put crystal effects on the centre of the flowers too.

This card isn’t my favourite colour combo, as I feel it is rather mature, or maybe it is the stamp that I used. Anyway this is the type of card I would give to an aunt or something. I once again used the palette of prints paper for the strips. Then using the Close as a memory stamp set, I did the poppin’ pastels technique to get the colour on there as they are bold stamps. Lastly just adding some brads and grosgrain ribbon to bling it up a little.

I made these 4 cute little love notes too. Using the polka dots and petals stamp set and roller. I have combined the four colours and just swapped them around. This was way quick and easy too. You could make these up and give them as a little gift pack.

This was the last thing I made. It is one of those cards that I am just not fully happy with. DO you get that??? Hmmn …Lucky it doesn’t happen too often! I was fiddling with it, but just couldn’t work out what I wanted to change on it to fix it up. Anyway I used the baroque motifs stamp set and of course once again the palette of prints paper for the strips.
Well that is a little snippet of what you can do with the Palette of prints paper. Remember that this promo finishes at the end of this month, so don’t miss out

Lately all the blogs I have surfed have used the colour challenge from Kristina Werner’s Design Blog. I loved the colour combo and so thought, since everyone else is joining in why shouldn’t I!
The image on her site was this:

So here is what I came up with

Using the Be Happy stamp set, with the Colours, Real red, Pumpin pie, Old olive, Tempting turquoise, and So saffron…..quite the mix! I usually won’t use more than 3 colours at a time, but I think this mix really works well. I think the rest is all pretty self explainatory.

Next I made this fun card with the Wild about you stamp set. It is quite difficult to photograph long cards as you need them to fit into the view finder and so you don’t really get a great close-up, but I am sure you can get the layout.

Last of all I put together this little page of the kids…yes they are actually wearing the right colour clothes! So I thought this photo worked great for the colour challenge. I once again used the Be happy stamp set, and the little circles with flowers are from the little pieces stamp set.
WOW that was great fun! Can’t wait to see what this week’s challenge will be.
Take care,
