Beate’s Inspiration challenge #14

Published by Makeesha under Cards

Hmmm…this was something pretty different to try! Lost of colours and shapes!

Well it isn’t called a challenge for no reason. This is what I came up with…not too bad, but not quite what I had in mind, but I am still unsure what to add to finish it off. I am sure it will come to me :)

This is the inpsiration.

And this is my creation.

I used the colours Basic black, Old Olive and Pumpkin pie. The background is stamped with the paisley first in pumpkin pie ink. Then with black ink I stamped the swirls from the Baroque Motifs stamp set. Using the Pretties kit for the flowers, two of which I coloured and put together with a Rhinestone brad. And last of all some wide Olive ribbon.

Beate has put up her next Be Inspired challenge and I love the card she has put together. Go check it out from the link of here and GIVE IT A WHIRL!!!

COOL HEY!

Thanks to the girls that particpated! I love every card that I recieved!

Doing a set swap was great fun and look at the benefit you get….yes doing the duplicates isn’t always as fun as creating, but in the end it was totally worth it. I would totally encourage anyone to grab some friends and do this, it is great fun and you get so much new inpsiration from it!

Colour challenge SCS 167….

Published by Makeesha under Cards, Scrapbooking

I have been having a blast with the colour challenges! Last week the Splitcoast stampers colour Challenge was to combine, Blue Bayou, Soft Sky, and Certainly celery.

Now once again, I did find this mix a challenge (spose that is the whole point….right?) BUT once again I have been blown away with the end result and have now got a new colour combo I will definitely use again!

My first challenge was this card…..

Once again I have used the Priceless stamps set (totally my fave at the moment!!!) The background roller along the bottom is So swirly in Blue Bayou ink. I used a strip of Certainly celery DS paper from my new Palette of Prints paper and blinged it with some ribbon. The Cirlce is Whisper white cardstock, and I have sponged it and stamped the scrolls to create a little background. Then added the cut out butterflies that I also used a little bit of glitter to pretty them up. Last of all I used the Wonderful Favourites stamp set with white ink to put on the greeting below.

This is an 8 x 8 scrapbook page of my spunky brother in-law Ivan. He is the baby of the Family, as my hubby is the oldest of 6 boys! There is only 10 years between all of them and they are all very close.  He is one of those really sweet and quiet guys, and He is also an accomplished artist. I also paint so I think that is why we get along so well, because we have a common interest. This photo is taken at the John Butler Trio Concert in January that we went to together. Right back to the page details….

The base is Blue Bayou which I have stamped with Itty bitty background. The strips of paper are one from the palette of prints ( I tried to join them….you can probably tell and it bugs me so bad!) anyway I have to let it go! The other strip is from the Spring break DS paper pack. I mounted the photo with Certainly celery, and Blue Bayou cardstock which I also paper pierced. To bling it up a little I used the Slit punch, and some double stitched bayou ribbon, some celery brads, and one round tab punch of Soft sky cardstock.

Last of all I made another card using the Blossoms Abound stamp set. It was nice to pull this one out and blow the dust off because it certainly has been awhile since I used it last!

I was happy with how this one turned out. On the background I used the Linen background stamp. Then a strip of Certainly celery DS paper from the Palette of prints paper. I created a tag firstly with Soft sky cardstock and then Whisper white which is slightly smaller. Like I mentioned I stamped the Blossoms abound and blinged it ip with some Celery ribbon and some metals from the Hodgepodge hardware, celery brads and the double stitched Bayou ribbon and a greeting from the Life’s Definitions stamp set.

Well once again that was fun. Splitcoast have announced this weeks colour challenge which I look forward to doing now.

If you do the challenges too, I would love to see what you have come up with!

Take care,

Demonstrators Get-together

Published by Makeesha under Chitchat with Keesh

Firstly thanks for you patience!!! I have been itching to get back on here and show you what I have been up to, but you know how it goes….dentist appointments, workshops, washing, ironing yadda..yadda…yadda! Oh and well the computer was gone for a few day…start to sound like I am making excuses hey!

Well hold on, for I have like 10 posts I want to load up. We will see how long it takes me :)

Firstly last week I went to my Upline and fellow demonstrators monthly get-together. We all did make and takes and the theme was Animals!

So I ended up considering a butterfly an animal and used them from the Garden Whimsy stamp set, and here was my sample:

img_3351-custom.JPG

For some reason the colours didn’t turn out as well as I hoped on the photo. Anyway I used the new Basic Grey card stock for the base which I rolled with the So swirly roller with the Basic Grey ink. Then using Always Apricot, Certainly Celery, and Regal rose for the cardstock and ink. I have used the greeting from the Occasional Greetings stamp set and blinged it up with some wide Regal Rose Ribbon, and some Rhinstone brads from Pretties kit (which I am nearly finished my first box already!!!) - maybe the novelty will wear off, but I don’t think so!

I made an extra one to send to Chantelle in Busselton too, to Congratulate her on being promoted to Senior Supervisor…WAY TO GO CHAN!!

Okay that is one down….stay tuned for more creations!
