My Convention Swaps

Published by Makeesha at 3:00 am under Cards

I thought you would like to see the swaps I managed to do for Convention. All in all I had 120 swaps, which I made 4 designs (30 of each)

I tried to be very organized this year, so that I wasn’t up until 3am the night before like last year. So each Tuesday night Monique and I would get together and stamp. Still whilst we had good intentions, I still needed to drag Lee (I think she was just happy to get out of the house) the night before to help me finish them off.

Anyway I was really happy with how they turned out. Lucky for me Lee went to Canada last year August, tracked down a SU demo there and bought a couple of the best stamp sets. So even though we wouldn’t have had our new sets because the catty wasn’t released, she was ever so kind to let me use her Priceless, and Pick a petal stamp sets! What fun that was.

Okay here they are:

Here I used the Chocolate Chip and Pretty in Pink, and Vanilla Cardstock. Rolling the strip of pink with the jumbo Swirly roller with Choc chip ink. Then I used the Priceless stamp set to stamp up the swirl, and the flower which I blinged up with the 2-way glue pen and glitter, and a brad, and popping it up with a dimensional. Using the Warm words for a greeting at the bottom right hand corner.

I really liked this card I managed to put together. Probably because it is something different as I don’t really ever use this colour scheme! I wanted to do the heart in red, but wanted it to look classic, so anyway I found the black and white complimentary. I think you can work out how it is put together. I used the Priceless stamp set, gingham ribbons, stapler, and silver brads.

This cute card was semi inspired by something I had seen on Splitcoast. A lot of people have used the Pick a petal stamp set to create little bugs, turkeys, bunny’s etc.. Stil I just thought the bug was too cute, I put it to use on this card. Using the Stem sayings as the ZZZZZ’s for the bug. The red wings are stamped with the polka petal from that stamp set. I used black brads for the antennas too.

This one was my favourite from all of my swaps and funnily enough it was the first one to go at Convention. Everyone went nuts over it. Much to hubby’s suprise as when I made it and asked his opinion he said it was a bit daggy as it looks as if it has come from the 70’s with those colours! hehe. Anyway I used some fav colours, Choc chip (of course) and Pumpkin pie, and very vanilla. The pumpkin is stamped with the linen background stamp. I used the Au chocolate papers for the petals which I stamped with the outline stamp from Pick a petal stamp set. Then I used the Large oval punch which I sponged and layered over a lge cirlce punch of Chocolate.. Adding the wide grosgrain ribbon and antique brass brads to bling it up a little. I also used my paper piercer to put holes around the vanilla circle on the background.

So there you have it. I actually only came home with about 5 swaps left, so that means I got 115 new ideas to work with. Some of them are just beautiful and there are some very talented ladies out there!

Love Keesh x
