Foundation Day Fun

Published by Makeesha under Family

The kids recently celebrated Foundation Day at school. As part of the fun they had to dress up olden style. So off course it was another job to try and find an outfit for them……! Off to the op shop the last hour of the day before the event! Well I did manage to throw something together and I think they looked rather cute in the end.

See how cute they look. Elijah was so embarrassed about the drawn on freckles! They had an afternoon tea for the parents from 2pm where we got served with all sorts of goodies the kids had baked that morning. Then they had a quiz in which the parents won….even Tiarne answered 2 of the questions!

June Scrapbook Class Pages

Published by Makeesha under Scrapbooking

I have managed to put together the 2 scrapbook pages I will be doing for the month of June. And so I thought I would load them onto here so that those of you who are booked in to come along will be able to get your photo organised.

The first page for the 11th June, is a rather vintage style page. I have wanted to do vintage for quite a while but needed the right photos. You will need 1 20cm by 5cm photo which is only .99 cents at Harvey Normans!

img_1919-custom.JPG

I promise you it looks far better in real life…….I only wish I could get better shots with the digital camera!

Then the page for the 25th June, is a little brighter than I usually do, but I know many of you love the Bold Brights so endeavoured to do as bright as I could manage…hehe. You will need 1 enlargement and two photos of small images for the tags.

So there you have it….. if you would still like a place in my class then don’t hesitate to contact me!

Cheers,

Makeesha x

Convention Swaps

Published by Makeesha under Cards

Even though it has been a couple of weeks since convention, I had always wanted to put on here the swaps I made for convention. I made 6 different types…..thanks to hubby’s help I managed to have 90 to swap. I ended up with some absolutely beautiful cards…..I hope others likes mine too. Here they are :

img_1866-custom.JPG

This is Stipple Shells, using the crayon resist technique. This was the most popular swap and i was all out of them in the first hour!

img_1870-custom.JPG

This was my favourite swap. I used the Bodacious Bouquet stamp set which is my fav at the moment

img_1874-custom.JPG

Beautiful Blossoms Abound. just had to have this set too. I have used Eggplant, and Pretty in Pink with some Celery grosgrain ribbon to set it off.

img_1876-custom.JPG

Here I used the Simply Said stamp set with my most favourite colour…..Perfect plum, Pale plum, and Mellow moss….well I actually have more favs than that, like choc chip, eggplant and celery ! Of course all the SU colours are devine!

img_1878-custom.JPG

Love this Cool Carribean!  I am definitely going to go through lots of packs of this colour this year! I am jsut dying to get into using this Wild About You stamp set. This is the one and only card I have made with it so far…..so stay tuned for some more of this set yet!

img_1869-custom.JPG

Last of all this sweet and simple card using the Seeing Spots stamp set. This card was inspired by Tracey Holdyk from our SU demonstrators get together. It is quick and simple and great for make and takes. I have used Cameo Coral card stock and Certainly celery, and Cameo coral stamp pads. I punched out the circles using the 1 1/4 inch circle punch.

So they are the swaps of Convention ‘07………………….Definitely worth the effort!

Double Take

Published by Makeesha under Dynamic Duo's

I have been trying hard to show at my workshops how you can take a layout for a card or scrapbook page and duplicate it for either a card or scrapbook page………. trying to make sense, but it doesn’t really. So better just show you the photos and you will get what I mean! Here goes……..:)

img_1830-custom.JPG

See how cute they look together! Told you, you would get it once you seen them! Well I have also made some very cute ones for my June workshops, but you will have to wait until the end of the month, so that I don’t spoil anyone’s workshop for this month! So check back again soon…………

Scrapbook Class Pages

Published by Makeesha under Scrapbooking

I have finally worked out the best way to get the scrapbook pages that I have made and done at my classes loaded onto here. So I do hope that you find some inspiration……:)

img_1865-custom.JPG

Here I have used a Perfect plum 12×12 cardstock. I have stamped it with the Dots and Daisies Background stamp, then coloured the centres of the flowers with my white gel pen. I created 3 strips with the pale plum carstock which I stamped with the co-ordinating stamps from the Simply Said set with the Perfect plum stamp pad. I edged it with Mellow Moss cardstock which I pierced with the mat pack. Then pucnched holes using the mat pack and then put in perfect plum eyelets. Then joined the strips with the moss gingham ribbon. I made a litte envelope which I then made a tag to fit inside for a little bit of journalling. Then dressed it up with some hodgepodge and a flower with a button centre. I also made a co-ordinating page in Navy and Bashful blue, using the seeing spots set for those that wanted to scrap for a boy. Very Cute!

img_1861-custom.JPG

On this page I used the Bashful Blue cardstock as a background. Then used a range of paper from the spring showers designer paper. I used the Stamp-a-majig to line up the word “Precious”. Then I created the tag with Chocolate Chip cardstock and stamped the flower from the Looks like Spring stamt set. Then embellished with Chocolate ribbon and Hodgepodge.

img_1862-custom.JPG

On this page I have used whisper white card stock. Then I loaded the colour onto the On the Spot background stamp with the Stampin’ Write markers, Not quite navy, Old olive, Real red and Creamy caramel. Then I scrunched the caramel cardstock and placed it all together. I stamped the word family with whisper white stamp pad and the whimsical alphabet set. Then dressed it up with the red gingham ribbon and white grosgrain ribbon. I also used the It’s a Date stamp set.

img_1863-custom.JPG

I used the brocade blue 12×12 cardstock for background. Then I rolled the caramel carstock with choc chip stamp pad with the By the Sea roller. I then tore the cardstock along one side and then ran the ripped edge through the whisper white stamp pad. I stamped the Stipple shells in various colours and then cut them out. I placed them behind the ripped layers. I used the twill tape and some twine on the side of the page also. Then I stamped the title with the Brocade Blue stamp pad using the Whimsical stamp sets. Then I embellished with the hodge podge and the Everyday Flexible Phrases.

img_1864-custom.JPG

With this page I used a Black carstock for the background. Then I cut squares of Celery, pretty in pink, bashful blue, lavender and apricot. I stamed each square with the cheescloth background stamp using whisper white stamp pad. I also cut my photos to the same size at the squares. I created a tag with I then stamped with Headline stamp set and the tidy alphabet set which I then cut out and mounted with dimentionals.

 img_1860-custom.JPG

On this page I used the confetti cream carstock for the backgroung. I then mounted the photos in Real red and Mellow moss cardstock. I used the newpaper print alphabet set in alternating red and moss stamp pads. I also used the It’s a Date stamp set. Then I embellished with the twill tape and Hodgepodge. I demoed this in a workshop, so it is nice and simple.

img_1815-custom.JPG

This is a little 6 x 6 page I used in the demo’s that I did for the month of May. I hav also made a co-ordinating card which you can see in the card section of my blog. (also in Dynamic duo’s). Here I was showing the masking technique with the Bodacious Bouquet stamp set, Eggplant envy, Certainly celery, and Pretty in pink carstock and ink. I also blinged it up with the 2-way glue pen and some dazzling diamond glitter.

img_1835-custom.JPG

This again is a little 6 x 6 page showong how a card layout can be used for a scrapbook page. This is using the Chocolate chip, Always apricot, Rose red, and Cool carribean cardstock and ink. I used the slip puch to make the scalloed edge and then dressed it up with my white gel pen. I used the simple sayings stamp set for the title. My co-ordinating card is in the card section.
