Perth Stampin’Up Regionals

Published by Makeesha under Stampin'Up Events

Yesterday I had a great day at the Perth Stampin’Up Regionals. It was at the Perth convention centre and we had great demonstrations and got to stamp with the Simply Said stamp set that we were all given. Stampin’Up offered us the opportunity to bring guests along also so I got a great response and had 7 guests as well as some of my downline. I hope they all had fun, well they seemed to as you will see on the photos below.

We had a very early start to the day and since I have the Tarago I was the taxi for the day. We left home at 7:20am and did the rounds through many different suburbs in Perth to pick everyone up. When we arrived in the city is was pouring with rain and we got caught in it on our way walking to the convention centre, which made a bit of a damp start to the day.

Here they all are having fun………

The Beautiful Bella’s

Published by Makeesha under Cards

My dear friend and fellow Stampin’Up Demonstrator Chantelle, has recently bought some of the Bella stamps from America. Recently she sent me 3 beautiful cards that she made with the 3 different bella’s she had bought. It was such a nice suprise and really cheered me up as I was having a pretty rotton day that day. Well she also included 3 of the stamped images, and so I thought I would make up some cards with them to send back to her. I finally found the spare time to get them done and this is what I came up with.

This First one I think is called Cosmobella……

The second one is called Beachabella…….

The last one is the Gardenbella……

Now I hope that Chantelle likes them. If you want to see some other ones that Chantelle has done you can go to her website which is a link on my Blogroll. She is very creative and a great stamper!

Pretty stamped walls

Published by Makeesha under 3-D Items

In April, my hubby took as week off work to paint the house. We weren’t going to do the kids rooms, but we had done all the other walls so quickly that I begged, could we please create the girls bedroom. Since darling daughter wanted pink walls,  I was a bit hesitant to have her whole room pink. Anyway in the end I decided that since Stampin’Up says that you can stamp on walls I thought I would give it a go. This way I could stamp on the walls and break up all that pink!

It actually was rather fun and I just love how it turned out. Most people can’t believe that I actaully stamped the walls with regular paint. What I did was get an old stampin’scrub and added the white paint ( just regular ceiling white) to the one side of the stampin scrub, then I added the Cool Carribean paint into the other side and spread it out. That created my stamp pad (ie paint pad) and I was off.

All in all is only took me 4 hours and the hardest part was moving the ladder so many times! I ended up with about 8 bruises on my legs from the ladder banging into my legs as I was trying to lift and move it! Anyway, after the paint had dried I went around to each butterfly and drew my 2-way glue pen over the butterfly and then sprinkled dazzling diamonds glitter with my paint brush. That way all the butterflies sparkle on the walls.  Darling daughter loves her room now.

So don’t be shy to use the stamps on the walls it works out great! Here are some pictures to see what it looks like. You get the idea, even though the photos aren’t all that clear and you can’t see the sparkles.

Anniversary Scrap pages

Published by Makeesha under Scrapbooking

Last November it was my hubby’s parents 35th Wedding Anniversary. My mother in law suggested that we each make a scrapbook page for each member of our family. So I took to task making the pages 2 days before the event! As usual leaving it to the very last minute! But anyway I still really loved what I managed to put together and so I wanted to share them with you.

Whilst not every single item I used was from Stampin’Up, you still get the page layout and colours etc.

img_1920-custom.JPG

Here I have used a Mellow moss background then  I have rolled the Bouquet jumbo roller in artichoke. Then added the artichoke and rust strips and stapled them. With the flowers, I stamped them on white gloss card with basic black ink and then used a sponge to rub the ink onto the flowers. I used Really rust, Pumpkin pie, and Close to cocoa stamp pads. Then I cut them out and dressed them up with some glitter. I used the Big Deal alphabet stamp set to do the title which I stamped with Chocolate chip and then cut out.

img_1927-custom.JPG

On this page I used a Regal Rose 12 x 12 cardstock, which I stamped with the Full bloom stamps with Rose red ink. Then I used the same stamp (the long one) and stamped it a couple of times close together to get a scrapbook paper which I then coloured in using my stampin’ write markers. I then used that paper to cover the chipboard. I mounted all the photos with Rose red card stock and then the little journal box I stamped the flower from Full Bloom stamp set and coloured.

Here I have used the Spring showers scrapbooking papers with two different designs to get the two tone effect. I mounted all the photos in Chocolate chip cardstock, and then used the twine and the pockets and pieces to hang the strip along. I used the Expressive flexible phrases stamp set to stamp words that describe Elijah. I used a non SU chipboard ( as we didn’t have any yet) and covered it with paper from the same paper pack.

img_1929-custom.JPG

This page I used a Pumpkin pie 12 x 12 cardstock which I stamped with the same ink colour with the Print pattern background stamp.I used the Pocket fun stamp set to create the pocket with the frog. The “M” is covered with scrapbook paper from the spring showers pack. I then stamped the rest of his name using the Whimsical stamp sets with white and chocolate stamp pads. I used the Twill tape and twine as embellishments. The large photo I used Mellow moss card stock which I have stamped the Weathered background stamp in the mellow moss stamp pad to mount it. And then the white gel pen to do the journaling.

img_1932-custom.JPG

On this scrapbook page I have used the colours Saffron, Celery, Rose red and Bashful blue. I also used the Simply said stamp set which I stamped the hearts in the differnt colours. Then I dressed them up with the 2-way glue pen and glitter. I stamped the name with the tidy alphabet and my stampin’ write markers. Then added the ribbon and buttons as embellishments.

img_1938-custom.JPG

This is my brother- in-law David ( and you will see Ivan below) they aren’t really the scrapbooking type so I offered to do their pages for them. Since David is a timber craftsman I thought I would use the Power up stamp set. I used a bordering blue 12 x 12 cardstock as background which I stamped with one of the the Little Pieces stamps .Then added the Olive strip which I stamped with the On the Spot background stamp. Then on the mustard strip I added the tools alternating with Olive buttons. Then mounted the photos in Real red and stamped his name using the Letterpress and the Whimsical alphabet sets. I also created a tag to journal on with whisper white card stock.

img_1939-custom.JPG

On Ivan’s page I used the Bordering Blue 12 x12 cardstock as background which I stamped with the Cheescloth background stamp and the By the Sea roller. I then stamped and cut out the shells from the Stipple shells stamp set and mounted them with dimensionals. I hand made the little surfboard ( he loves to surf!) and then mounted the photos in Not quite Navy card stock. I did his name with the Headline Alphabet set and covered the large “I” with paper from the Rustic scrapbook paper pack. I also added Kraft index tags which I stamped with words from the Expressive Flexible phrases stamp set.

Well it was a mammoth task, but I got the pages together with about 5 minutes to spare. I was really happy with them in the end and so it was rather hard to give them away!! I hope they provide some inspiration for you……..!
